Sean Taylor Crashes NFL Network Set
I was watching the live pre-game show on NFL Network tonight, and during the show Sean Taylor breaks away from warming up, and walks right up to the set and begins to exchange pleasantries with Deon, Rich, Marshall, and Mooch. So Deon asked Sean is he ready for tonights game. Taylor responds, yes I'm going to take it to the house, do you want me to hold the ball up? Everyone got a good laugh, then Taylor shook everyone's hand..and specifically addressed Mooch as 'Mister'. Of course, after that they thought Taylor was the best thing since sliced bread.
But what an enigma this guy is. He purposely avoids the press all year, declines to be interviewed, and he sneaks up on the a live set and gives a mini-interview. |

Actually, Deion asked ST to hold the ball up if he takes it to the house. ST said he would try.
I don't really thinks its an interview, it was more of a greeting of Faulk and Deion. |

Those were the days. He seems out of position on every play and ends up chasing down the ball carrier or blocked by a lineman. I believe he feels he needs to step his game up because he is playing with a poor defense and second stringers but struggles to make plays in that position. Where oh where has the old Sean Taylor gone?? |

Why does Sean Taylor get blamed when the defensive line and linebackers have been shredded by runningbacks all year long? Quarterbacks have all day to pass the ball, the LB's outside of M. Washington (who was hurt) have been pathetic, and the secondary has been awful but this is the free safety's fault? I guess that people don't understand what a safety should be doing on a decent defense. Why is Taylor chasing down runningbacks? Because the RB is getting into the secondary without being touched. Watch how often that happens against the Ravens. Why is Taylor getting burned on passes? Because there is no pressure on the QB and they pick the DB's apart. The defense is in shambles but the last thing they have to worry about is Taylor. |

Granted he has had a tough year but he is playing on his heels because of the deficiencies in front of him. Better D line and LB play will bring out the Taylor of old. |
Re: Sean Taylor Crashes NFL Network Set
On the John Thompson show the other day Clinton Portis said that Taylor may be missing tackles, but it's because he has to run all the way across the field to try to make a play because the other members of the defense aren't doing it. In other words, Taylor is putting himself in position to make plays that aren't even his responsibilty. So, atleast he's getting his nose in their, we can't blame him in my opinion.

I saw that, too, with ST shaking hands with the NFLN guys. It was odd to see Sean Taylor actually make contact with someone.

...without that person dying instantly. Sorry - I thought this was the Chuck Norris thread. |

Yeah, that's what made me start this thread. I thought it was odd and sort of refreshing just to see him mingle a little. |
