Gibbs' Friday (9/1) Press Conference
He said he's totally freaked out. Has no idea what to do. Said everything's been down hill since he saw Schneed at a Benihana and Schneed scoffed at him when Gibbs said hello. JG's been in a funk ever since, holed up in his basement eating mint oreos and playing Double Dribble all night, silently crying.
Seriously though...some highlights: Will be up all night going over personnel Thought Todd played very well TJ looked good (Duckett, not Taylor Jacobs) Pass protection issues looked to be individual problems with some of the young guys Good for us to give Warrick a chance to play quite a bit at MLB Frost stepped up, had a very good night Disappointing preseason Most of the players are disappointed but focused on regular season Will talk about QB situation on Monday, wants to go over it with players first before discussing it in public Encouraged with players that will comprise special teams core, upgraded this summer in that department Our guys should be ready to go on defense. (with the exception of Shawn) Campbell would have played more against Baltimore but he got a slight pull in his hamstring Said he told Todd Collins "he's got guts" standing in the pocket taking that beating. When he said this Mark Brunell was seen running out of the room crying and yelling "How could you say that about someone else, you two-timing bastard!" John Hall is our guy. Seasoned, veteran guy Gave Ethan Albright some love!!! Want to play a long time in the NFL, learn to snap the football. Make a fortune! <<silly high pitched giggle ensued>> Strategy wise, he thinks its better to wait until as close to the last minute to publicly release the names of cut players |
Re: Gibbs' Friday (9/1) Press Conference
I love the Brunell comment. I knew you couldn't get through a post that long without making a joke. Oh yeah, and the whole first paragraph...
They have the video clip still up on the Skins page, which is nice. |

Can you maybe put that into context? That seems to lead me to think change in QB? Maybe just wishful thinking... Most likely the 2nd string, but who knows! |
Re: Gibbs' Friday (9/1) Press Conference
I think that's wishful thinking on your part Daseal, J.C. has progressed, but Todd Collins is probably the #2, and if there was gonna be a qb switch he'd probably put Todd in.
Nice post Tafkas, thanks for the update. |

Yeah sure. Sorry for not elaborating. He was asked about the backup QB decision. He said he and the coaching staff pretty much know what they want to do. But they didn't feel it was right to say anything to the media before sitting down with the players and explaining the rationale for their decision. But yeah it was not about the starting QB position, it was about Collins and Campbell for the #2 spot |
