Nah. Of course DURING the game, I was like, "Sonofabitch. The season is over." but then I remember that it's JUST preseason. Provided Portis comes back with no problems, we'll be fine.

Not at all. Hopefully Brunell is not having 2004 arm troubles. Some of those passes looked weak.

After watching Campbell play, I feel more comfortable with him as our future than ever before. Not that he played lights-out awesome but he looked like he knew what he was doing.

i am still expecting big things but its obvious the o needs lots of work. all of the qb's threw int's and we couldn't run at all.

on d, our backups really stank up the joint, especially #25 wright.


on a positove note, espy looked good and i also thought the backup o-lineman pass protected well.

I voted no, but cause for concern.

Portis injury could mean a slow start to the season for him and the offense. Remember, he has to get use to the new system as well, even though a RB's curve is not as bad as a QB's.

Preseason or not Brunell looked shakey, even though those throws were great!

Collins is a fish out of water man, Campbell has never taken a snap in a real game, QB depth is not looking good.

Everyone is saying this. Did he give up anything other than that TD?

I'd say there is cause for concern. Most of our backups looked pretty lost out there, and that's on top of the fact that there were plenty of injuries.

Obviously the Portis thing worries me quite a bit even if he doesn't need surgery. I feel like a shoulder injury is something that can can hamper him all season long. He may be more hesitant to take the hit and it may be more likely that he fumbles if he's holding the ball with his left.

Also, Brunell worried me a bit because his throws were off by a good bit. The nice pass that Lloyd made could have goen for a TD if it wasn't so far over his head. Brunell also missed Lloyd long later in the game. And then there was the INT. I still say Brunell was trying to throw the ball away.

I'm also concerned b/c I just got royally screwed out of my tickets for the first game. Can anybody help me out here?

I'm really not concerned at this point. It's tough to judge anything after the first preseason game. We're talking about a game with vanilla packages, little to no gameplanning, and the starters playing very little.

The third preseason game is the true test.

I think Portis will be fine, too. Hell, if Emmitt Smith can play with a seperated shoulder, CP should be good to go. Pound for pound, he is one of the toughest RBs in the league. Look at the bright side. At least the injury isn't severe and we know that he won't get hurt more during preseason.

TMC, if I remember right Wright got fooled on that first flea-flicker as well.

Did he give up anything other than that TD?[/quote]wright was abused all night long. morton and patterson looked much better. at one point the bengals qb threw at #25 4 times in a row i think and completed 3 of them for a first down every time

Damn. Just wondering because I was thinking he had played a decent game.

The only reason I'm slightly concerned is because most of the other NFC East teams starters looked pretty solid.

These are my thoughts as well. Portis does not need the work and now he will have a month to get well before Minnesota. I pray and hope he will be fine by then. He can still run around and do walk thru's for the next month. Hey, the only thing last night told me is that our backups are not as good as theirs. Our starting D looked unbelievable!!!

Don't forget how solid we looked a couple of years ago versus Tampa Bay in the preseason game under Steve Superior.

he'll be fine. i'm not worried about a preseason game.

in fact, i hate the preseason games. they should just only do the scrimmages. maybe 2 preseason games...

what do you guys think?
