Ricky Williams - His new therapy!

I know in another thread Hogskins and I were talking about Ricky Williams. The rumor mill has been stating that he tested positive for pot. This is his second offense, one more and we have nothing to argue about. Yet again - this is from the rumor mill, but very interesting.

Guess we know how Miami got Ricky to calm down and be more sociable, eh?

Would this bring a suspension or is this a fine thing?

Daseal 05-17-2004 06:35 PM

the 2nd offense is a 680 grand fine, the 3rd one brings a suspension.

$680,000!?!?!?! Damn that beeter been a good joint. :Smoker:

Daseal 05-17-2004 07:29 PM

I'm pretty sure that's what they said - my numbers could be off! Maybe 68 grand. Either way, Ricky found that on the floorboard of one of his multiple luxury cars.

Hogskin 05-17-2004 08:57 PM

Daseal, not a rumor. They caught him with part of a joint. I'm sure there was a lot more than that to be found in the White House for 8 years ending in 2000... This is not a big deal for most people, but is pure idiocy for anyone in the NFL!!!

Actually, the phobia you made light of, though, was something he had struggled with for years that was apparently cured with the counselling he got. The Saints' brass never had enough smarts to get it handled.

By the way, Daseal, I never heard from you about my offer (or challenge LOL) to form a league for Warpath members to see what you got.

Hogskin - I'd LOVE to do a fantasy team with all the Warpathers! Although most pools I seem to be able to have the edge because I learn so much on this site on who to get and who not to! I wasn't questioning your fantasy ability when I questioned your receivers, just a bit curious as to why so I could get a jump on my friends!

As far as Ricky goes, I don't really care about these charges and would be better if they weren't released. They want these guys to be role models, but a lot of them do drugs and drink. Fine him in secret and if it get's out of control suspend them but make up some sort of reason. I know he had counsiling problems, I made a tasteless joke at Ricky's expense, and I'm sorry. It's a lot of counsiling and a little paxil!

Hogskin - if you don't mind whenever you get a chance can you send me the rule list you guys play with? Or point me into the direction to read it? email is daseal@adelphia.net - if that's easier for you!

Actually, the second violation gets you a four game suspension. The Third gets one year and then you have to petition to rejoin - It's not automatic that you get back in.

Right now, Miami is facing the strong possibility that RW will not be there for the first 4 games of the season. Good thing they got Boston.

No doubt!!! I simtimes like the green stuff. But I don't get paid the kind of jack pro athlets do to pass a drug test!

New Therapy? You mean that guy with the dreads and Marley tatoos just recently got into grass? Is this performance enhancing grass? If it is, I have not smoked the right stuff. :FIREdevil

Not according to CNN's story on this subject:

"A player who tests positive twice is fined the value equal to his pay for four games. A player who tests positive a third time is given at least a four-game suspension. A player who tests positive a fourth time is suspended for at least a season."

My bad - I saw the story after I posted. Now, for my retraction:

I think sometimes on this forum, we get bad information, and we get it from sources we think are reliable, but that is no excuse if we run with it. Such was the case in my post on Ricky Williams. I can find no corroborating evidence that Ricky Williams will be suspended for four games. I apologize to the Miami faithful who got very nervous over my earlier post, and to Williams.

Classic JoeRedskin, just classic, LOL

Proving, yet again, that JoeRedskin knows more than the rest of us "nimwits" on this site! Are you going to start posting about women's softball? LOL :D
