Need a ringtone, its too damn hard
Ok guys, I really need some help. I need to get some ringtones for my phone...its a motorola i830, nextel service. None of the sites are working, even the pay ones. I am wondering if its just a nextel thing, but it is pissing me off like crazy, I just want free ringtones like everyone else, please somebody help.

Re: Need a ringtone, its too damn hard
Be very careful with those ring-tone sites man...some of them will rip you off. I once used some website to download a ring tone and though nothing of the purchase (the ring tone was 99c). I check my cell bill once in a while and when I checked it 5 months later I discovered that those bastards were charging me $11.99 a month for a service I didn't sign up for.
If I were you I would only buy tones from my carrier or at least disable the ability for third party companies to charge you via your phone before venturing out and hunting for ring-tones online. |

www.3gforfree.com from your phones browswer menu. Im not sure if your phone is supported or not, but all the tones there are completely free.

Re: Need a ringtone, its too damn hard
Ringtones suck, stick with the stock ones that come with the phone.
If I hear one more person's phone ring with some stupid top 40 song... |
Re: Need a ringtone, its too damn hard
A "ringtone" should consist of nothing more than "ring ring ring." Or "beep beep beep" if you prefer.
Who had the gay ass idea to make a telephone play a song when someone calls? Why not have the toaster sing to you when the toast is done, or the microwave tell you a nice bedtime story when it's finished. |
Re: Need a ringtone, its too damn hard
A lot of phones don't even come with normal "ring ring ring" tones anymore.

And THAT, my friend, is exactly why this world is so screwed up today. |

I think we are on to something here mheisig |
Re: Need a ringtone, its too damn hard
Maybe I'm just a grumpy ol' codger, but why can't I have a small, simple cellphone that's the size of a Bluetooth headset?? I want the ENTIRE damn phone to be JUST the headset. Voice dialing works fine so I don't need buttons, just turn it on and say a name or number. Simple as that.
I say leave the MP3 ringtones/broadband video/internet access/email/datebook/notepads/animated/singing/jack off assistant cellphone to the teenyboppers. If you need the business functions in a small portable format, get a Blackberry or Treo. Watching video on a 1" screen is a joke, and if I hear the Pussycat Dolls play one more time when a phone rings, I swear I'm gonna snap. |
