VA National BBQ Championship: 5/13 Richmond
 

If I had not said before I am a competitor [rookie season] in this years VA National Backyard Barbecue State Championship on May 13th at the Richmond International Raceway.

This is my very first event as a BBQ Team but I feel really good about my chances. I will be up against some of the biggest names there is in bbq like the Texas Rib Rangers and others. My team name is "The Pit Pirates" and I'll be competing in all four meat catagories which are Pulled Pork, Spare Ribs, 1/2 a whole chicken and Beef Brisket. You have to compete in all 4 meats to have a chance to be chosen Grand Champion and go on to represent the State in bigger events.

I went out yesterday and got me a big tent thinging and the local banner lady will be making all my banners and stuff free. My booth will look something like this.

Nope, the race weekend is the weekend before. May 6th is the big race.
Sorry SBF I would love to come by and have some official Warpath BBQ but Im actually going to be out of town that weekend. If anything changes I'll come by. Good luck.

Me and my wife may make the trip. We watch alot of the cooking channel and we slobber all over our selfs when they go to these cook offs and show all the great food. If we make the trip we will stop by to try some of your cooking. Good Luck!

Just know this guys...
I'm thinking and planning and working my daASS off to not just play [4] Quarters but to win. I'm working and have trained too fricking hard to go down there and not push my way deep into the running.

Gotta admit as a rookie I've not played a full 4 quarter game like this but I'll be ready to win...like a SKIN!
