Most important FA the Redskins retained?
Of the Redskins own free agents that were re-signed, which one was the most important?
Rock Cartwright (RB) Khary Campbell (LB) Cedric Killings (DT) Ade Jimoh (CB) Derrick Dockery (OG) Demetric Evans (DL) Chris Clemons (LB) |
Re: Most important FA the Redskins retained?
Dock based solely on the purpose of keeping the line together for another year. AND his play has been on the upswing since he got here.

Re: Most important FA the Redskins retained?
I went with D Dock - and it was pretty easy. He's the only one penciled in as a starter, so his loss would have the greatest impact.
Second place would probably be (get ready for it) Ade Jimoh. Despite his flaws, he is a fantastic special teamer, and I love his attitude. If you ever get to listen to an interview with him, take the time. |
Re: Most important FA the Redskins retained?
Chris Clemons will emerge as a mini-star this year. He's got good instinct and pretty solid skills - and we need to shore up our LB unit.

Re: Most important FA the Redskins retained?
It's gotta be Dockery. The Skins are pretty thin on O-line even with Dockery in the fold. If they had lost him, they'd be hurting bad. I know a lot of people think Dockery's not that good, but he's a lot better than any other guards on the roster-- outside of Thomas-- and he's probably just as good as anybody they could have signed to replace him. I still think he's developing as a player, and the longer he works with Joe Bugel, the better he'll get.
Chris Clemons is a close second in my opinion. With the loss of LaVar, the Skins needed another OLB who's familiar with Williams's system. Clemons is another guy I think will only continue to get better. I'm looking forward to seeing him develop into a starter on this defense. |
Re: Most important FA the Redskins retained?
I'm going to ride with Chris Clemons. He got all the 3rd down snaps I thought should have been going to LaVar last year, and he's a decent bet to step into the starting lineup. First there was Pierce, then Lemar Marshall, now Chris Clemons.

Re: Most important FA the Redskins retained?
I picked dock cause he's a starting lineman and keeping the starting five together is important. However, ade will play important role next year

Re: Most important FA the Redskins retained?
The ade ofcourse but to keep his greatness a secret i go with dock then clemons. Clemons is going to be a beast.

Re: Most important FA the Redskins retained?
I agree with Dockery first and Clemons 2nd.
Overall though I'm really pleased that we retained all of these guys. The importance of building continuity can't be underestimated. The big name signings always get the hype, but it's the signing of key role players that build winners. |

Re: Most important FA the Redskins retained?
For my money it's definitely Dockery, but Clemons is a close second. Dock is the only starter amongst the group, so he's the no-brainer.
But I love Clemons in situational pass rushing. And who knows, he could end up being a solid solution at OLB. |
Re: Most important FA the Redskins retained?
Ade of course. He is going to have a blow out season on special teams and as a corner. I can see him getting a couple of sacks, several pass defended, and a slew of tackles and interceptions. Gibbs knows talent and there is the reason we resigned him and Gibbs must have big plans for him. He might even get a few snaps with our O running deap routs for those long bombs of TD's Brunell will be throwing. Hail to the Ade Jimoh fan club still lives on!!

Are you being serious? It almost sounds like it here. |
