Important announcement: site costs
 

It's that time of year again, our server plan just renewed and our vbulletin license is up at the end of February. I've spotted the $407 for the server costs for now but I unfortunately can't afford to pay both bills in their entirety so....

I'm 'passing the hat' around The Warpath to help recoup some of the costs.

Here are the actual breakdowns for our '06-'07 costs:

Server: $407
vbulletin owned license: $160

The past two years I've purchased the leased version of vbulletin for $85 per year, but it makes more sense to go with the owned version since it will only cost $30 to renew it each year going forward.

I'm going to contribute $100 of my own money, so I'm asking for the community to help pitch in for the remaining $467.

I'll donate $500 for the right to ban Lawyer Bill from the site. I'd love to be the one who pushes that button. Hey Matty, maybe you should auction off the rights to ban him, I'll bet it's lucrative!

I have no problem with full disclosure. :)

Saying how the google ads make money is a violation of my terms of service, but I think you can figure out how they generate money. But it's very minimal, believe me.

The other ads on the front page make decent money, but the site has it's share of other costs. The domain names [url="http://www.thewarpath.net"]www.thewarpath.net[/url] and [url="http://www.redskinswarpath.com"]www.redskinswarpath.com[/url] are both registered to this site, and during the season I frequently have to purchase additional bandwidth. We were maxing out 80GB 2 weeks into the month at times due to the wild popularity of the film room. I also frequently hire programmers for updates, and for when we had to move the site to a new server, etc.

I wish I was getting rich off this site believe me.

It's all for a good cause and 99% of the money taken in goes right back into the site.

If you'd like to donate feel free, if not that's not a problem either.

We have Google Ads on our site and after the first year I "may" be able the cheapest warpath t-shirt.

Our costs are about 1/3 of yers Matty but we are going to do a fund drive this month too.

I'm a little short this week in my PayPal account this week but will slap some in there and on it's way to ya'll. This site is a MUST CHECK site many times a day if near a PC.
