Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
http://www.dailynews.com/ucla/ci_3426089
Washington Redskins secondary coach DeWayne Walker, who was Pete Carroll's associate head coach at USC in 2001 and an assistant under him in the NFL, is the leading candidate to become UCLA's defensive coordinator, sources said late Saturday night. Maybe we'll move Don Breaux to secondary coach now. |
Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
god i hope he doesn't leave. he is a good secondary coach. I would hate to see him replaced. He is like the ade jimoh of the coaching staff - very underappreciated for his services.

Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
any coach that wants to leave now is making a big mistake. we have a championship caliber organization that will remain that way for many years.to leave now means you wont be a part of something very special.....the skins 4th championship:point:.and 5th and 6th and so on

Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
son of a bitch. I was enjoying telling everyone that we kept ALL of our coaches on the staff. Now i am gonna have to say all but Dewaine walker. He is a great coach and that has been seen by our DBs play all year. Why would he leave the Beast sean taylor??

Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
Oh well. I'm sure GW knows another guy. Walker doesn't have the greatest record anyway as far as where his pass D's ranked, esp. with the Giants.

At the end of the day, it's all bizness. |
Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
Thats a big promotion for him. I don't see him not taking that gig.
I'd like to pull someone who has Belichek knowledge to replace him. They engage in lots of fun and games with their defensive backfield. |
Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
But didn't he just sign a new contract with the Redskins??

Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
I think were going to bring Jerry Gray as secondary's coach.

http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=15096
Generally speaking assistant coaches can leave for better opportunities freely even if they are under a contract. I say generally because an owner can be an ass about the whole thing and demand compensation for the assistant but they rarely do. Head coaches are a different story. |
Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
I don't know that position coaches are all that difficult to come by and I have to be happy for the guy because I didn't know who he was. Moving from a position coach to a Coordinator is a big promotoin, I think he it'd be less than wise to pass that up.

Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
My understanding is that Snyder will be replacing him with Bill Parcells and Buddy Ryan.

Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
Maybe it's time to lure Darrel Green to the staff? But we'll see--it's a great gig for Walker if it happens, and you can't begrudge him if he goes.

Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
Yes I will take that job.

Re: Secondary Coach Walker Leaving?
Jerry Gray may be taking his place. Grey worked as the DB coach in Buffalo when Williams was coach and we initialy tried to get him here with the same title, but Buffalo wouldn't allow him out of the contract.
