Is it just me....
Or is AP taking a cheap shot at his ex- team?
When it gets to this time of the year, you tend to look back on the season and realize just how fast it has gone bye. We are sitting real pretty right now, first place in the NFC EAST and controlling our playoff chances. Not like other teams hoping someone loses or whatever. Our team is full of energy right now, everyone wants a piece of the action. Guys are fighting to get to the ball on defensive and on offense guys are fighting over making plays. This is my first time being on this side of the playoff picture because in WASHINGTON we never were winning in DECEMBER. Well I would like to thank all the NY GIANTS fans who have been supportive of us through the season so far and I ask you to continue. Lets get in these playoffs and make some things happen. AP58
 |
Re: Is it just me....
It is a shot. Whether it is cheap or not depends on how you want to take it. He didn't say anything that was patently untrue or even subjective. I dont look at it and say "Man that AP is such a bastard for telling the truth."
|
Re: Is it just me....
Ta hell wit him!!! He wouldn't even be playing there now with a nice new contract if it wasn't for this team that never won in december!!!

Wait till the rematch!!!! The Giants can be beaten and will be!!! |
Re: Is it just me....
I saw Tiki Barber say on TV I know i am good let their heads continue to grow... makes them easier to be knocked the f_ck off!!!!
|
Re: Is it just me....
Walks like A duck, quacks like a duck.........................glad he's gone!
|
Re: Is it just me....
Hell when he was with Washington we were not winning in September, October, or November so why start winning in December.
|
Re: Is it just me....
Forget AP. We gave that guy his first shot in the NFL. If it wasn't for the Redskins picking him up as a UFA, he'd probably be working for UPS. He left us even though we made what he himself called an offer that was very similar to what the NYG gave him.
|
Re: Is it just me....
i'm heading to that game too! the giants are my least favorite team in the NFL. so i wanna see them get trounced!!!
i'll take any W though... |
Re: Is it just me....
I really don't care about what he says. I mean....its real sad that he has to take shots at his ex team.
He wasn't shit until he came here, and now he's shitting on the Redskins........that bad karma if you ask me. |
Re: Is it just me....
Yep Bulletin board material hopefully they will keep talking plenty of shit..by gametime the Team will be like Mad Dogs.....
|
Re: Is it just me....
I wasn't horribely mad at AP when he left because he got a HELL of a lot more money from the gints unlike smoot. I didn't want him to be good but didn't want him to fail. I now have no wishes towards him and I hope he sucks ass and never makes it to a pro bowl. Skrew em' anyone that spews in his bedroom over a team and group of people that have forgotten about him loses my respect. I don't give a flying **** what he thinks, we made him and now he thinks that he is better than our organization. I might be going to the game on the 24th and I will be booing my ass off now and i am gonna chant Pierce sucks all afternoon.
Didn't he get in a fight with sellers like two years ago at training camp?? I hope sellers shows him the business on christmas eve. |
Re: Is it just me....
on top of that, didnt we win a few games last year in dec?
|
Re: Is it just me....
Yeah it's a shot at us. It's gonna be bulletin board material when we play them too. I hope we kick their ass to shut him up. Without us, he'd be nothing more than a backup linebacker.
|
Re: Is it just me....
on top of that, didnt we win a few games last year in dec?
Yes sir 3 of the last 5, and so far how many games have the giants won in december this year?? I like how he is predicting things before they happen, and because of this he deserves to lose every game in december left F'n retard. I hate pierce, **** YOU PIERCE!! |
Re: Is it just me....
And he claims we disrespected him.....oh well....it'll be that much more sweeter when we beat them!
|
Re: Is it just me....
trust me, he could have said a lot worse than what he did... him not winning in december with us isn't that big of a deal.
i still like the guy- he worked his butt off for us and when he left for NY, alot of people were saying he isn't worth it (it was GW's system that made him look good, etc)... he's disproving that this season. even though the NY contract wasn't that much more than what we offerred, he probably felt disrespected by his own team. it's probably why he stayed in division. i always felt that losing him was worse than losing smoot... pierce was cerebral on the field- he knew where to line everyone up... look at how many big plays we've given up this season compared to last. having said all that, on game day I hope portis knocks him on his ass. |
Re: Is it just me....
I wasn't horribely mad at AP when he left because he got a HELL of a lot more money from the gints....
Ummmm no. The difference in what the Skins' final offer was and the Giants' was less than a million over the life of the deal I believe. He was mad because the Skins didn't blow everyone out of the water with their initial offer which was way below what he ended up getting from the Giants. Apparently he is one of those types who likes to play the disrespected card to justify abandoning the team that gave him his first shot just for a few extra bucks. He has a very weak argument about being disrespected. He went for the money plaun and simple. And not much more in the end. Smoot definitely got a load more than what the skins ended up offering. |
Re: Is it just me....
I think he liked the NY market and the fact that they offered a LOT more money than what he expected from anyone helped his decision. I would have liked to have kept him, but whatever, marshall is a good enough LB and as long as holdman stays off the field, we should be alright.

my fault, i guess i forgot:insane: . I had thought that Smoot's offer was just more front loaded and Pierce's was more money and we didn't want to give him that much. I guess that is true in a sense but i thought that Pierce got much more over there and when we got a chance to match we just said "nah bitch" |
Re: Is it just me....
Both of them were front loaded, we offered smoot an 11mil signing bonus, he laughed then he signed a contract with the vikings for an 11 mil signing bonus and a front loaded contract. fact we offered the same or very very close to what these others offered and they chose to walk. remember that's why bugel said soo much for being lifelong skins, throw alittle money at them and they walk.

Re: Is it just me....
Definitely a cheap shot, but isn't that what you are supposed to do to your old team?
|
Re: Is it just me....
Well, he is speaking the truth isn't he?
The Skins haven't been to the playoffs since '99. Kinda hard to argue against his point. |
Re: Is it just me....
I dont see where its a shot at the team, no more than him telling the truth. We weren't winning, at all. If we were do you think people like him, champ would have wanted out. we are an organization in constant flux. Champ got tired of it, smoot and pierce. Cant blame them. They went to organizations that are stable, year in and year out. With exception to the Vikings, but they seem to have turned things around. We have as well, but we say that every year so what would make them believe that and stay. Lets just focus on making this an organization people want to join because of winning tradition, not because Dan offers you the most money.
|
Re: Is it just me....
Classless whether it is the truth or not, he could have spoken on the success of the Giants season easily without bringing the Skins into the conversation. It seems some of these athletes just won't grow up it is always someone else why they did not succeed, the system, the team, the owners, etc... They make Millions and are offered millions, but still bad mouth the previous team and claim he was done wrong.

If that were true, I would agree. However, look at the Gyants record over the last 12 years:
YEAR RECORD FINISH POSTSEASON 2004 6-10-0 T2nd -- NFC East -- 2003 4-12-0 4th -- NFC East -- 2002 10-6-0 2nd -- NFC East 0-1 - Lost Wild Card Playoffs 2001 7-9-0 T3rd -- NFC East -- 2000 12-4-0 1st -- NFC East 2-1 - Lost Superbowl 1999 7-9-0 3rd -- NFC East -- 1998 8-8-0 3rd -- NFC East -- 1997 10-5-1 1st -- NFC East 0-1 - Lost Wild Card Playoffs 1996 6-10-0 5th -- NFC East -- 1995 5-11-0 4th -- NFC East -- 1994 9-7-0 2nd -- NFC East --
A couple more playoff appearances, but that doesn't look a whole lot different than our record. LOTS of losing seasons, and NO consistency (other than losing). EDIT: It just occurred to me that maybe you meant that the organization was constant, as opposed to consistently winning. If so, does the consistency of a losing organization really matter? |

The organization as a whole is what I am referring to. However, the Giants have gone to the playoffs 3 times compared to our 1. One superbowl compared to our ZERO!! I'd say they have had better years since 97 than we have. |
Re: Is it just me....
The Gyants have had 3 head coaches, we have had 4.
They have had 3 winning seasons in 10 years. Do you remember how pitiful the NFC was the year they went to the Super Bowl? Plus, they LOST in the Superbowl, and were nowhere near going to it the year before or the year after. Their last 2 seasons they were worse than we were. We have a new staff in place headed by one of the most respected head coaches of ALL time. This was a money and ego decision by Pierce. #56fanatic: Prior to you responding I had updated my previous post with this: It occurred to me that maybe you meant that the organization was constant, as opposed to consistently winning. If so, does the consistency of a losing organization really matter? |
Re: Is it just me....
Re: the number of head coaches, I didn't count Robiskie, who was an interim coach for 3 games 5 years ago.
|
Re: Is it just me....
i don't care if it is true or not. He doesn't have to talk about us to the media at all and he has done it a couple times this year. I have no respect for him
|
Re: Is it just me....
Whether or not it is or isn't true, the fact that we are his former team gives him no right to speak badly about us. The organization was kind enough to pass over so many other players and choose him. If anything, he should be grateful. But maybe that's just me.
|
Re: Is it just me....
Well he's not going to be happy when the skins beat him and his team on dec 24th so he's right he wont win in washington in dec!!
I WANT THIS GAME BAD LIVING IN NEW YORK !!!! |
Re: Is it just me....
he is now hurt and was karted off the field. I hope he is out till our game but i hope he fully recovers after the season. To be honest i would be happy if he was out for our game and KC but i don't want anything long term or serious. I kinda feel bad:hitfan:

Re: Is it just me....
Why is everyone so concerned about what AP said? Who cares? The only thing that matters is what happens on the field.
And, to be honest, I can't argue with anything he did say. He was speaking the truth, even though there was a dig in there too. AP was one of our best defensive players and the D does miss his leadership and playing ability this year. The Skins didn't do enough to keep him, so they lost him pure and simple. Again, it's nothing for us to worry ourselves about. We fans need to worry about the next game, and then the game after that and the game after that. |

I went to that game and that was Ramsey's best career game. We also put Minnesota out of their misery. Our problem last year was starting off 3-5. We had to play catch-up and still could have made the playoffs with a 9-7 record. |

Yeah, but Ramsey isn't the QB now. We're stuck with the mediocre (at best) play of Brunell. I am very much concerned about our ability to beat either Dallas or NY with Brunell and this vanilla offense that Gibbs calls for him. |

NFL defenses today are too fast and attack way more often than before. mobility in the pocket and the ability to improvise is a must for QBs in today's league. i think thats what Gibbs saw in Jason Campbell. as tough and strong as Ramsey is, i'm not sure he could've escaped all the heat the league (and our division) brought this year. |
