Re: Dotson traded
He hasn't been good for us and was struggling all off season, Ron Rivera will pay for this
|
Re: Dotson traded
Ron Rivera’s four first round picks in Washington…
2020: Chase Young — traded to 49ers in ‘23, now with Saints 2021: Jamin Davis — moved from LB to DE, backup 2022: Jahan Dotson — traded to Philly after two seasons 2023: Emmanuel Forbes — backup fighting for time |

Re: Dotson traded
Ouch...

Re: Dotson traded
Given what he's achieved here (next to nothing given his draft position) and we now have a 3rd and 2 7's in exchange for a 5th, I'd say that's a decent deal. Can't see how he's going to go to Philly and suddenly light it up. I mean its possible, but look at how Brown ahs come alive with Daniels throwing to him? If Dotson was going to resurrect his career I'd say he had a better chance here than there. Think we'll come to like this trade more when the '25 draft rolls around.
|
Re: Dotson traded
And one of those 7th's is now our new kicker?
|
Re: Dotson traded
Glad to know Ron and crew wasted yet another 1st rounder on a WR.

He'll be lucky to see the field. They already have two #1 WRs in Philly. |

Re: Dotson traded
You’d think by some of the reactions out there we traded an all pro WR for a bag of peanuts.
Safe to say Dotson has been a bust so far considering where he was drafted. Trading him in the division means AP really doesn’t give a shit about facing him. Time will tell. |

Even he shits the bed the rest of the season he'll make sure to trounce us.... just our luck 🤷🤦 lol |
Re: Dotson traded
They obviously soured on him very quickly. Oh well.. Another 1st round bust by the Ron regime.

I just don't understand how you can draft a 160lb corner in the first round. Then make him cover AJ Brown. Like what the hell was Ron thinking? And Davis.. He is a positionless player at this point. Can he play offense? |

I hate that he's in the division

The guy just wasn't cutting it. Period. Glad they jettisoned him and got something in return. |
Re: Dotson traded
Rivera is on the Mount Rushmore of shitty fucking GM's right next to Bruce Allen. What an absolute disaster.
|
Re: Dotson traded
Testing.
|
Re: Dotson traded
Dotson had a solid rookie year and was terrible last year, and this off season. Ill take the picks.
|
Re: Dotson traded
What is happening to this site right now? I see last post by Punch and I click on the article and the last post I can see is from MTK from this morning.
|
Re: Dotson traded
If DQ is done with him then so am I but I can’t help but wonder where he would be if he had competent coaching his first two years.
Hate trades in the division. |
Re: Dotson traded
I would have preferred we traded a potential starter at we for a potential starter at OT

Re: Dotson traded
dotson looked bad this offseason/preseason. Surprised we got a 3rd based on that. And they did something at kicker, so good on the FO.
I feel like CB#1 is a bigger issue than LT, neither one is going to get fixed this season barring someone stepping up big time. |

.500 this year might be a stretch goal
I think we're going to rely heavily on the backs and TEs in the passing game |
Re: Dotson traded
Looking back on this, I don't like it. I get that you want Debo type of WR's but trading away arguably your 2nd best wr within the division is not a good move imo. The reason I say this is because the guys you have at # 2 are borderline NFL back up wr's at best. Get rid of him next year when you have a chance to upgrade the position. You have a rookie QB, give him all the weapons you can.
Also, I'm thinking if McLaurin goes down then they're really in trouble. |
Re: Dotson traded
Dotson put up just over 1000 yards receiving in his first two seasons… can Noah Brown replace that production, I think so. And we have an extra 3rd next year too.
If Terry goes down we’d be in trouble even if Dotson was here. |

New WR acquired by the team: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/41032410/commanders-sign-veteran-receiver-noah-brown |
Re: Dotson traded
Noah:
6' 2", 225 pounds. 1,122 yards receiving the last two years in 26 games. 59% Catch %. 7.9 Yards per Target. Jahan: 5' 11", 182 pounds. 1,041 yards receiving the last two years in 29 games. 58.3% Catch %. 7.2 Yards per Target. Size matters. I think the idea was to get a bigger, more physical receiver. Jahan has proven that he is not that. Noah is a better complement to Terry in my opinion, and as far as pass catchers in this offense go, we are more than ok. Let it go... :) |
Re: Dotson traded
if they felt like jahan was better than the guys they kept, they would have probably kept him. It looked like he was having effort problems.
if they felt like jahan was better than the guys they kept, they would have probably kept him. Forbes should be fortunate he made the cut with this being stated.

Re: Dotson traded
I can’t believe we got a 3rd round pick for him, AP puttin in that work.
|
Re: Dotson traded
So far he's got 3 catches for 14 yards
|
Re: Dotson traded
That 3rd round pick is starting to look good
