No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
Not sure I ever thought I'd read a headline like this, not sure what McCloughan is getting paid but it's probably not enough

Re: No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
That was one of the best drafts we've probably ever had. I can't wait to see what he does this yr
|
Re: No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
Kiper forgot to mention Jarrett, even Dunbar who was undrafted should be mentioned.
|
Re: No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
Yeah we do need a CB but Dunbar looks pretty good and maybe he can be a starter next yr? I was disappointed in culliver this yr
|
Re: No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
culliver >>>>>>>>>> dunbar. dunbar is depth.
that said, an acl is really a two year injury, so culliver will probably have a bit of a down year. so we'll need to grab someone to help with that, but you want 3 good cbs anyways. |
Re: No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
I just hope that McCloughan sticks to building this team primarily thru the draft. Save free agent money for keeping our core together. In Scot I trust!

Re: No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
This entire article is a moot point, we let future HOFer David Amerson go.

Come a long way but have a long way to go for Redskins.

Re: No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
I said it before the draft, SM spent the entire last season evaluating college players, so this should have been a homerun draft and it definitely was. I am as interested to see how our scouting department does this year.
|
Re: No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
I see you working Scott M. That's awesome to see. If you're on top of an "experts" list, you're probably close to the top on most list. Having a real GM is fantastic. I'd say, Snyder's best decision as owner to date.
Note - if I won the approximate 1.5 billion lottery by myself, I would have tried to buy the most stakes of the redskins as possible. With the taxes, probably couldn't get the whole team. |

I trust Scott and hope we keep Culliver. I've always liked him as a player even before we signed him. Breeland, Culliver, Dunbar, Draft Pick in first few rounds....thats a very solid 4 to me. |

I'm actually so excited to be a Skins fan. I feel like we finally have a chance for sustainable success. HTTR! Love it. |
Re: No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
Best draft class around here in a real long time.
|
Re: No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
Looking at the playoffs we see a lot of injuries affecting the lineups...QBs Ben and Peyton, WR the entire Green Bay corp and Antonio brown, RBs lynch, Williams, Rawls Charles...oline of the Patriots...
so while it's key to draft starters, drafting depth can be just as important. While kipper mentions those contributions...guys like Jarrett, spaight and kouandjio are players who still can play major roles in the future. |

“To me, with McCloughan being a great evaluator, [the Redskins] have a chance to really step it up next year and be right there with the Cowboys in a very competitive division.”
I guess Kipler is thinking the 4-12 season Dallas had was a fluke this year. |

I guess Kipler is thinking the 4-12 season Dallas had was a fluke this year.
What was more of a fluke, the Cowboys going 12-4 in 2014 or 4-12 in 2015 with no Romo? Better to prepare for the worst, hope for the best. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cowboys bounce back next year. For me my biggest fear is McC leaving for some reason, whether it be his personal issues, or some other team offering him an unheard of deal, or w/e. This may come off the wrong way but I want him here for life. Idc if we have to dig a hole and make him put the lotion on the skin, I want him like a fat kid wants cake. #noshame I think when it's all said and done and if he keeps his personal issues under control by the time he retires he could be mentioned with some of the all time greats. Very few men have the track record of success that he has. |

But if u actually watched the Cowboys this year..wow..they have a lot of problems all over the field. No pass rush, no turnovers on defense, shaky secondary play, an Oline that took a step back and a head coach that took a step back...they have a lot of questions to answer before anyone pencils them in as east champs 2016. |

Dallas had more problems than QB.
Kiper mentions them because it's some sort of requirement in the media to constantly be on their nuts. |

Kiper is a fool. Did he actually watch any of the Cowboy games? They can no longer count on Romo to play 16 games. He is fragile at this point of his career.

Reading this part tugged at my heartstrings: "Halliday’s flight out of Dulles International Airport departed before dawn. His cab arrived at 3:45 a.m. As the taxi approached the on-ramp of the highway, a lone vehicle pulled directly in front of it: a BMW 760, just like the one he had dreamt of owning. “It was right in front of us,” says Halliday. “Then the driver floored it. He must have been going 100 to 120 miles per hour. And that was my dream disappearing in front of me.” Surely someone will give this guy the opportunity to fulfill his dream of going 100-120 mph in a Beamer with 20's on it. |

he sounds like he was selfish then and he's still selfish now. the guy doesn't get it. his personal stats are more important than wins. air time on espn is more important than his team. having big money is more important than earning a job in the nfl. he's an entitled a-hole who's shown that he's learned nothing. he walked away because he felt like he deserved better. it's his own fault. |

that year he did. too lazy to look it up right now though. I think he spent a lot more time on studying college players and not a ton of other people were doing that back then. now there's an entire industry of college/nfl draft experts and he spends a lot more time on camera year round, instead of spending an entire year for one night on espn. he's still good, but i think nfldraftscout (now owned by cbs) has surpassed him in accuracy now. |

Sorry to go off subject, but it is insane how many analysts are saying that the Cowpukes are going to be back next year with Romo and don't see this or the other issues that they had this season. Houston, which had a lot of similarities to the Cowpukes (suspect running game, stud WR, and very good defense) had their share of QB issues, yet they were able to remain competitive in a wide-open AFC South. I mean, Brandon Weeden and TJ Yates were able to win games for Houston. Honestly, I'm glad the Cowpukes are so dependent on their aging/now-injury-prone QB. And it is going to be insanely fun for us Redskins fans when Jerry brings Johnny Boozeball to be their future QB. |
Re: No NFL team got more from 2015 draft class than Redskins, ESPN’s Mel Kiper says
I think we need to go for defensive stars in this draft, even if it means taking some risk.
Examples: 1st Round - Robert Nkemdiche, DT Ole Miss. Great athlete, penetrator, perfect NFL body. The risk is that he has exhibited immature behavior off the field. Ranked #22 on Draft Scout Big Board. 2nd Round - Su'a Cravens, OLB Sothern Cal. Born to be an NFL SS. Great size, speed, excellent tackler, nose for the ball, termendous athlete. The risk? Not that much, really. At USC he played a hybrid OLB/SS position. Ranked #49 on DS BB. Check out the film on these players. I think you'll see what I'm talking about. |

You are correct, he did make the Colts look bad, for good reason. In the 1994 draft the Colts with the fifth pick, they really reached for LB Trev Albert who was not rated to go in the top 10. Trev Albert did not make it three years and he had to retire. It was a time the Colts were terrible and had some terrible drafts. |
