At least we got someone to compete up at WR; I still think we should have drafted someone in the 4th. This guy had a total of 9 catches last yera according to the stats @ CBSsportsline, so I wont hold my breath but maybe he could make the team.

That's 9 catches for a team that scored like 50 points a game. That's actually impressive. Impressive in that he only had 9 catches and that is truly amazing. I could probably have gotten 9 catches for that team. Maybe more. What the hell was this signing?

We should pick up Steve Savoy from Utah. He's a local guy, and he was Alex Smith's go-to guy.

Seriously, and he didnt even play in half the games (according to the stats, so I'm guessing he didnt play reciver). This guy could be a special teams ace or somthing, but as reciver, I'll go play for them for 30 bucks and a papa johns pizza and that would be an equal deal.

Remember that with undrafted free agents it doesn't hurt your cap to bring in guys that are just 100% potential. Sure he hasn't done squat in college, but maybe he has some physical tools Gibbs likes. When you don't give them a signing bonus, you can bring in 2000 guys if you want and it won't hurt your salary cap. The more the merrier, the worst that can happen is they don't make the team and our salary cap is not affected.

Me too! How many of us were saying they should use Sellers in short yardage or goal line last year? Now we have a couple more guys built for that type of thing. Once you establish using the big guy on short yardage, give it to Portis one time and watch him go!

the guy from UCLA is supposed to a "bruiser" type back, so hopefully he can fill that void of a goaline/short yardage back or even a lead blocker.

I wonder if Gibbs is signing him for character. I hope he doesn't go overboard on that kind of thing. I mean if he wants character, start signing up entire non-profit organizations.

Got some local guys from University of Maryland....

From The Washington Times article today:

Maryland wide receiver Rich Parson and defensive back Ray Custis are among at least 12 undrafted rookies who have signed with the Redskins. The club will release the list today. Terrapins safety Chris Kelley, running back Sammy Maldonado, wide receiver Steve Suter and defensive end Kevin Eli are expected among the unsigned players trying out at this week's rookie minicamp.
