Sean Taylor now #21?
 

I've seen this rumor on some other boards, just wondering if anyone has heard anything official about this.

Do we even care? Well, I guess those that already have a #36 Taylor jersey will care, LOL.

He can have number 5.3652 on his jersey as long has plays well, lays the wood, and signs his contract without any drama, and hire a limo driver, and stay away from Rod "drop it like its hot" Gardner.

it wouldn;t suprise me if he changed his number. he changed it between 36 and 37 twice last year. remember Fred was 23 his rookie year and then changed it to 21 when Deion left.

I kinda liked him with #36, not a huge deal either way though.

As far as the number change affecting jersey purchases, IMO the only jerseys worth buying are the classics. A good old #44, #7 or #9 can be worn for 20 years without a problem. I know some people prefer to wear a current player, that's just my take on it. I don't wear them much anymore but the last one I brought a few years ago was #44.

I'm with Celts32. As long as a player sticks with his team and does well, his jersey is worth having. It doesn't help to get a new jersey when the player keeps switching teams or numbers.

Just got confirmation via e-mail from Karl Swanson at Redskins.com that Mr. Taylor is indeed #21 now.

I bought a #36, but I really could care less. Its a replica, which is really the only jerseys I'll buy (unless its a older guy), and I might pick up the #21 too. Whatever, not too upset about it.

i really don't care as long as he does good on the field. i realize the impact this is gonna have on people with #36 jerseys, but someday they might be worth a lot.

aw i liked #36. liked how portis was 26, and jansen was 76.

but the fact that he changed it DOES bother me, because it's just more proof (as minor as this is) of his constant instability.

I have the most amazing news!!! Well, for me atleast. I have been trying to find a Sean Taylor University of Miami Jersey for a year and a half. They didnt make many of them and stopped making them in december of last year.

I FINALLY FOUND IT!!!! I found it, brand new with the tags. Keep in mind that I lived in Miami last year, and went to every sports store in Miami trying to find it. So this definitly made my night!

no smoot was a rookie the year deion was here. Smoot was 23 his first year and then Deion left and he changed it to 21 because Deion was his idol growin up. Smoot didn't start either he was nickle.

I don't think that's right. Smoot was drafted by Marty in 2001 and Deion refused to play for Marty so he never played for the Redskins after his one season here in 2000

This sucks if Taylor did change his number!! I have 2 full size Redskin helmets with his autograph on them and on both he added #36 after his name!!

I dont think its right either. I thought Smoot started right away, and the 3rd cornerback was Darrel Green. Definitly not Sanders.

My fault he didn't play with Deion he played the year after, but Deion must have been on the roster or something because Fred started with 23. I was at the redskins store in Dulles Town center over the summer and I saw a Fred Smoot 23 jersey and I almost bought it just because I had never seen one for sale. Smoot started 13 games his first year.

I still dont see it posted anywhere. No one can post a link so i dont believe it. might as well say Brunnell is changing his # to 33 and Springs is changing his to 28. oh dont forget Portis changing again this time to 44.

Smoot came in after Deion, and he definitely never wore #23.
