MLB 2014 Season

Bryce put on like 20lbs of muscle. Please, please be smart enough to not be using PEDs. (I don't think he is)

there are a ton of PEDs any player could take with 99% confidence he will not be caught. It seems certain PEDs only show up in your system for 24 hrs after taking them.

The whole Boschi -biogenesis thing proved that just bc a player passes every test doesnt mean he is not "juicing".

In this day in age, as an Os fan I can only hope chris davis is clean.

davis looks like a juicer, that pic of bryce looks like a juicer.

Re: MLB 2014 Season

I'm looking forward to hitting up Nats Park with my friend after work again, enjoying the slight breeze and hopefully watching some good baseball. Nats should have a good team again this year, I'm excited to see what Matt Williams can do. I've kinda softened on the PED stance, considering Matt Williams was a former user and the fact that athletes across all sports are always toeing the line on what supplements they can use and get away with. I think Bryce is smart enough and hard working enough that he knows he doesn't need to abuse illegal supplements to be the player we know he's capable of being.

Excited for Lombo! I'm very tired of seeing Flaherty in the lineup, so hopefully this cures that position.

Looking forward to seeing him in orange.

HOLY S! The Nationals are off to a bonkers start! Now I really wish I had taken a half day to watch this.
Oh well, looking forward to going to Opening Day on Friday. 10 for 10.

Crazy, I've already seen Yahoo and SI predicting the Nats to take the Series this year. I hope they don't fall victim to the hype. I'm pretty excited to see how Matt Williams runs this team too.

I agree 100%. You can't let the youngster do that and teach others that you play hard all the time. You have to send a message regardless of how talented he is. He's still young and immature so he needs to be disciplined and taught what is acceptable and what is not. A bad manager would have allowed Harper to remain in the game or done nothing.

If they ban pitchers for about 30 games, they'd probably stop doing shit like this.

Re: MLB 2014 Season

Yeah I think it should be different if you're a starting pitcher. 10 games sounds nice in theory, but it will only be 2 starts for him, which is weak.

The Nats better get their clutch hitters to wake up. Maybe this is the year that will need to be wiped off the books. Against a good pitcher, the Nats go to sleep.

Whats wrong with Manny Machado? Is he just a bitch or..? Wouldnt expect that from a Buck Showalter coached team

I'm convinced he's juicing (half joking). He's boys with Nelson Cruz- frustrated from injury- slow start...etc, and just gets fired up.

They interviewed him before Friday's game and he said he wanted to, "Kick some ass". Which is weird, cause he ended up looking like a little girl for freaking out over a hard tag.

Like, dude... get over it and move on. On a positive note- it looks like Gausman is legit, and they have in him the starting rotation now. I'm a big fan of our young pitchers- (Harvey, Gausman, Bundy, etc) so I'm glad we didn't pull the trigger on that Samardzija trade.
Whats wrong with Manny Machado? Is he just a bitch or..? Wouldnt expect that from a Buck Showalter coached team
By all accounts he is a good kid, raised by his mother whom he is very close with, engaged or already married to his teenage sweetheart.

Generally - 1) he may have bought into the media hype a little bit, 2) very slow initial start, 3) sensitive to his knee

Specifically - 1) w 2 outs, the 3B usually throws to 1st for the last out 2) donaldson gave a lil punch to the tag (bc manny was trying to evade said tag)

I have 3 disagreements w As fans -

1) the 2 pitches to donaldson by chen did not seem intentional to me. chen does not hit or retaliate and donaldson sits over the plate and had hit a homer earlier in the game; the game was close and not a time pitchers would want to put a guy on, on top of the count being 3-2.

2) As fans lose all credibility when the say abad wasnt intentionally throwing at manny's knee's in the 8th inning

3) manny didnt seem intentionally hit the catcher norris' head on his backswing. manny is lanky and has a long back swing. norris is getting as close as he can to catch change ups and breaking pitches. the catcher needs to adjust his crotch position based on the hitter.

4) manny trying to hold back a smile cant be attributed to him smiling about hurting norris. manny should have checked on him and showed some concern though.

.. with all that said, manny needs to drop the bat and punch abad in his mutha effing face.

Wall may be a Cowboys fan, but since he's not a die-hard it doesn't matter as much. After all, he helped recruit DJax here, so he can't be that bad even if he does reek a little from that Dallas stench.

Anyone know any decent/reasonably priced hotels near Wrigley Field? My Dad, brother-in-law, and I are flying to Chicago next weekend to catch the Nats' double header against the Cubs.

Also, this will be my first time in Chicago, so any other suggestions are welcome. We'll probably spend most of Sat at Wrigleyville, but any thoughts for Friday night?

Best pure hitter I've ever seen. You could dump Gwynn in any baseball era and he'd hit .300. Always had tons of respect for Gwynn (and Hoffman) staying with the same (sh*tty) team their whole careers. Great ballplayer and a class act.

I'm happy TG got his 3,000th hit in Montreal:
