re: Madden 25
Skins should be fun this year, they're looking pretty loaded
|
re: Madden 25
Trent Williams is not the highest overall player on our OL? Wow.

Yeah that doesn't make sense at first blush but I think you have to evaluate him relative to the scores of other LTs. Almost all Cs are in the 85-93 range, so it's clear Madden doesn't think there's much differentiation at the C position, nor do they feel it's that important of a position. That would definitely be accurate in comparison to the LT. An 89 at the LT spot is much more valuable than a 90 at the C spot. As for the real football world, I think Montgomery's a pretty decent center. But LT is the 2nd most important player on the field, which makes Trent the most valuable lineman by far. |
re: Madden 25
Yeah Schneed they have done it relative to the position. Griffin is a 92 speed but runs faster than 94 speed RBs
|
re: Madden 25
my mind was blown when I heard about Montgomery being the highest rated Redskin.
|
re: Madden 25
I am just happy RG3 is higher than Luck. It is interesting that they are ratting based on position and not overall, I wonder how that is going to affect gameplay. Owner mode looks excellent this year. Can't wait for it to come out.
|
re: Madden 25
Monty at 90 is a surprise. I mean he's solid, but I would rate him more like an 85. I'd put Trent at a 90.
|
re: Madden 25
well, if you move trent to C (at least in the last version i played) it'd add about 10 points to his overall rating, for what it's worth.
|
re: Madden 25
I wonder when we are going to see the Nick Sundberg letter to Madden, given his 57 rating. LOL.

Gave him his Jersey number at least. |

re: Madden 25
I'm surprised this hasn't been made known- Sean Taylor is a playable guy in Madden 25.
Madden NFL All-25: Safety Sean Taylor | Madden NFL | EA SPORTS Personally, I think the last good madden was 2006 on regular Xbox. That game just functioned as a football should. |
Re: Madden 25
Madden 25 is pretty good. Incremental improvements over last year but improvements regardless. The read option stuff is fun, the hit stick finally feels useful again, and they cleaned up the physics issues from last year. The player celebrations are pretty cool too, Morris does his home run swing after a TD. Griffin kneels and prays then points a finger to the sky.
The first few games I played I admit I wasn't having much fun. Even on slow the game speed feels fast. Perhaps because I was so used to NCAA. Also got to tweak the sliders to your liking. |

Hope you guys got the Amazon exclusive Madden 25th Anniversay addition. Comes with a free year of NFL Ticket (including for PC/Tabs/Phone). Well worth the $99 since the NFL Ticket is valued at $150 as it is. |
Re: Madden 25
I got my copy of madden at gamestop tonight. included on the receipt was a code for a free fathead. Has to be redeemed by today if anyone else did not notice...

Re: Madden 25
Got my copy at Target which was probably a mistake, now I can't upgrade to next gen for $10. :(

Re: Madden 25

Free and very limited compared to the full release of course. Just wait a couple weeks and get it for less. Honestly unless you're a hardcore Madden guy it's probably not worth getting right away. |

Really it is my time. I don't have any to enjoy it. |
Re: Madden 25
This madden is like most maddens I play. I play the previous years madden, love it, enjoy it, get the brand new madden, play it, hate it, can't get used to it, keep playing it, and in a month I finally get used to it. I'm in day 1 now of getting used to it.
Side note, I heard the awful reviews for this game, and some guy at the video game store said that I should just (and he mumbled) 'get madden 13 and upgrade'? Anyone know what he is talking about or trying to mention? |
Re: Madden 25
Currently an 81 on Metacritic which I think is pretty fair.
It's gotten to the point where people love to hate on the game no matter what. |

And I have to tell you that there is nothing wrong with this game. Its the exact same concept every year, people act like theyd rather play with 3 pixels per player again. It gets better graphic wise and user control wise every year. Its the 25th anniversary. buy it its good |
Re: Madden 25
I already got it ^
|
Re: Madden 25
Still playing Madden 2005.
I have RGIII on it too. :D With kids, I only get to play it maybe 3 times a year. I'll upgrade eventually. |
Re: Madden 25
no pc version since 2008, but it's moddable at least.
|
Re: Madden 25
Madden is an entertaining game to play no matter how much hate it gets. It is not a great sports game but not terrible either. So a C or a low B would be a good grade in my opinion. Or about an 81 like someone posted previously. The graphics do get better every year but obviously there is still a lot of room for improvement. Is it worth 60? Probably not but it is a football game so who can resist.
I think people are just expecting too much from Madden. I am curious to see how it looks for Xbox one/PS4. I would like there to be another company to "compete" with Madden just because I remember the greatest improvements in the game was when there was another company creating a similar product. |
Re: Madden 25
The more I play this new one the more I like it. I'm even liking the new zoomed out camera. You can really see plays develop much better. I agree I think part of the problem is people's expectations are just unreasonable, it's a video game and football is a complex game. It's never going to be exactly like real life. Plus I think there are always those that hate EA for having the exclusive deal with the NFL. Heck, people hate EA for a number of reasons.

Re: Madden 25
How is everyone enjoying franchise mode on the new Madden. Building a franchise and SIMing the game is my favorite part of Madden. Would I be happy with this one?

I didn't like that in last year's Madden. |
Re: Madden 25
I got paid today (unexpectedly soon considering I just started working last week) so I'm picking this up tomorrow.
Hope it's good. |

It still happens once in a while, but for the most part they've cleaned up that stuff. If anything the backs are maybe a little overpowered. You can truck the shit out of the defense. Morris will plow through a couple of guys before he goes down. Stiff arms are nasty too. I've had to turn up the tackling slider for the D. |
Re: Madden 25
Running is really easy this year (maybe it's just AlfMo & RGIII). I'm thinking of adjusting the sliders a bit to compensate.
|
Re: Madden 25
Yeah running is way too easy. Gotta work the sliders.
|
Re: Madden 25
Yeah I got a copy the first day it came out. I'm a big Ultimate Team guy myself, but the running is "smoother" this year. When you back runs up into the back of one of his O-Line men, he will use his free arm to sort of push off to get around the guy, which is more realistic than the "butt fumble, Mark Sanchez" type move they would do last year. I will also say that the DBs are nasty this year, as far as picks go. You really have to have a pretty good open window to complete a pass. I play on All Pro and a good corner or saftey will snatch anything close if he is near the ball.

Re: Madden 25
Does anyone know if there is a way to play with Sean Taylor but still control the whole team in connected careers (franchise) mode? Would be a lot of fun. Still awesome to be able to use him though.
|
Re: Madden 25
This is my first time buying the Madden game and I love it.
|
Re: Madden 25
anyone know if they fixed the salary cap glitch that was present in madden 13?
it kinda ruined the game for me, i would be over negative $40m up until the draft - never a chance to sign any free agents. i was able to amass over 20 1st round picks every season but it was extremely hard to trade for top shelf talent. i'm waiting for the price to go down before i buy this one; still playing 13, in the 5th season on my franchise. |
