RGIII has been cleared for practice
Per his Facebook/Twitter feed:
Doctors cleared me to practice. Coach is going to ease me in. Thank you for your support & See you in Richmond |
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
Rich Campbell @Rich_Campbell 11m
RG3 will participate in 7-on-7 drills, not full team drills, while coaches ease him back in, source says. #Redskins |
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
Is "cleared for practice" different then cleared for normal play and contact?
|
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
So much for the PUP list, its gonna be great to see him out there

Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
I don't know whats better, this news or the fact that the dreaded offseason is almost over.
|
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
I said it before, his recovery has been amazing - you just have to look at the conversations being held about his expected timetable:
January: How many games will he miss? Will he play at all in 2013? April: Will he be ready to be the day 1 starter? May: How much time will he spend on the PUP list at training camp? June: Will be cleared for full practice day one of training camp? Now: How much will he play in the preseason games? Amazing. |

Both but DEF the OS. I'm so ready for football. I'm stoked over the HOF gAME |
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
They need to put him in there day one and let him get the reps that he's missed this off season. No need to baby him and ease him in. It's not like he's getting hit in practice. Great recovery.

Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
If my wife's friend is home when training camp start, my wife and I will be making a trip to training camp. So glad the season is almost upon us!!!!

Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
Had he been placed on PUP list, what exactly does that entail? He can't practice with the team?
|
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
Title of Thread should be changed to RGIII has been cleared for TAKE OFF.

I'm still going to cringe when he tucks and runs until I see him take a couple of shots and pop back up but I'm really excited that he will have a full camp. It's crazy really but it also speaks to the nature of panic fueled by the media. I remember someone on here (I honestly don't recall who) that suggested in the days after the injury that the team should "sit him out the entire 2013 season as a precaution so he's 100% for 2014". 7 months of angst and hand wringing ultimately for nothing. |

Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
Well I'll be damned.....you already knew back in March when it was first reported that RG3 was way ahead of schedule that he would be ready for the opener.......

LOOKS LIKE GRIFF WILL SIT OUT MOST IF NOT ALL OF PS. THAT'S OK W ME |
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
^ No surprise if things play out that way.

Yeah and I think most of us will be happy if it does. I'm all for KC getting the reps in games. He's going to show how good he really is. |
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
I say he gets a .25 of play in either the 3rd or 4th preseason game. Probably the 4th with our starting line in and the Bucs scrubs in. Just a guess.
|
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
I am torn. Part of me thinks he probably needs a quarter or two of pads and accelerated action just knock some of the rust off.
The other part of me thinks - "STFU - There is a reason coaches and trainers are paid millions of dollars. They see the guy every day. If they think he can come in with no PS work, who are you to second guess them." I pretty much listen to the "other part" although I can't wait to see him play again. |
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
Maybe he will start game 3 when all the starters do but I doubt it
|
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
I don't think the risk/reward is worth it to have him play at all in the PS. It's not like we show much of our real offense in August so really what is he missing by not taking those few snaps?
He should get plenty of more meaningful work in during camp. |
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
I really like to see when he does return to full action that the brace is gone.
|
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
I've got Redskins v.s. Titans Preseason tickets (Redskins fan in KY), and as much as I would like to travel to Nashville and see RGIII take the field, I hope I see a lot of Captain Kirk, and Sexy Rexy. If Griffin knows he is not playing, I wonder if he will even dress and throw it around before the game?
|
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
When i went to stl last year, i sat next to skins fans from ky.

Did you have to actually pay for those tickets? |

? Don't we all? |
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
After seeing Dallas lose the backup DE and Anthony Spencer in the course of a few days, it got me thinking, and hoping, that we don't have any Major injuries. Obviously the best scenario is to not have any guys injured, but that never happens in training camp. Everybody loses someone before the season even starts.
I just have a bad feeling a starter will go down during training camp. |
We had Fred and rak go down last year. We should be due for No injuries. Oh and carriker
|
Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice
To bad injuries dont care what happened last year. We may be due, but that makes no difference whatsoever.
