Eagles LT Jason Peters re-ruptures his Achilles tendon
From USAToday, Jason Peters has reinjured his tendon, taking a season that was in doubt to one further in jeopardy.
I don't wish injury on any player, so I hope this thread can avoid the "point & laugh" mentality so pervasive on the intarwebs. M question is, how is Peters' contract structured? I know he signed a 6 year $60 million contract, but if he doesn't recovery fully, how much are the Eagles on the hook for? |

I hate it for the guy (love it 'cause it puts a strain on the Eagles) but for Vick, at least that isn't on his blind side. |
Re: Eagles LT Jason Peters re-ruptures his Achilles tendon
Never like to hear about a player having these types of injuries but it couldn't happen to a better team. Yesterday I played 18 holes of golf with Darryl Tapp's brother and did not figure it out until we were having dinner.

Hate to hear an individual is injured, love knowing the 'enemy' is debilitated.

Please don't do this. This is a new topic (he just reinjured his achilles) and he's asking about some different details. I'd rather not have to find some random page on a random thread to see this news. There's a difference between opening a topic on the exact same thing, and opening a topic on something new and relevant. The Jason Peters thread was great, but it had come to completion. This is a new issue with unqiue discussion that can be had. Super broad threads are not good and lead to fractured discussion and doesn't allow those of us that visit a few times a day to be able to keep up with the topics. |
Re: Eagles LT Jason Peters re-ruptures his Achilles tendon
He can do what he wants...but the mods will decide if a thread is redundant. This one isn't
What are you talking about? Nobody is referring to the previous Jason Peters thread.
http://www.thewarpath.net/redskins-locker-room/47341-2012-nfl-free-agency-tracker-book-10.html#post917043 This topic was being discussed already which is why I posted the link.
I think something like this is new thread-worthy. Obviously we don't want a bunch of crap threads littering up the board, but this is new news (in a slow news cycle no less) and worthy of its' own thread for discussion. |
Re: Eagles LT Jason Peters re-ruptures his Achilles tendon
Rather than posting the guidelines to chide a fellow-poster, how about simply referring back to the thread where the discussion is taking place.
But enough of talking about how to talk about stuff, how about we talk about the stuff the thread meant for us to talk about ... Sucks to be Jason Peters. While I thought he was already out for the season, does this set him back so much that he might miss the following season? Is it a career ender? As a practicall matter, is he going to miss any more time than he otherwise would have? |
Re: Eagles LT Jason Peters re-ruptures his Achilles tendon
Less thread cops please

Re: Eagles LT Jason Peters re-ruptures his Achilles tendon
Tough break for Peters. Good thing for them they signed Bell. They might need him longer than expected.

I'm just going to point and laugh at Jason Peters because he's an Eagle.

This .... |
Re: Eagles LT Jason Peters re-ruptures his Achilles tendon
The story said that, as a result of the first tear he was likely to miss 4 to 6 months of football activity as a result of the first tear and that this second was only going to add an additional three weeks to his recovery time.
Is he a free agent?
i put it in there because bell was the fa they signed to replace peters, i didn't think it deserved it's own thread. it was my bad. there is more thread law enforcement talk than peters acl talk in this one
back on topic, i hope he wins his lawsuit against them. i feel bad for the guy |
Re: Eagles LT Jason Peters re-ruptures his Achilles tendon
Didn't mean to cause a fuss. The article I referred to stated that Peters' re-injury yesterday was casting doubt on his ability to recover at all. I believe that new information was worthy of a new thread. Since his replacement was signed months ago, it never occurred to me that the information would be in an article about free agent signings.
My intimacy with the rules of the forum ain't what it used to be, but it used to be pretty intimate. I will endeavor to look harder next time however - scout's honor. Honestly, I started the thread because I wanted to talk about my favorite pie, and thought this might be a good ice breaker. It's coconut cream pie. And it's delicious. |

I was just being a smart ass and posting to the link about something that they made a big deal about a month ago. Had I known this many jack wagons were going to come in and ride my ass, I would have withheld such link. To be sure, I'll know in the future not to post said link. That said, there are more posts in this thread about "thread cops" than there are about Jason Peters. His injury didn't change anything. He was already out for the year, they had already signed his backup. Keep doing what you are doing. |
