Odd habits you've formed
I can't be the only one on WP who does something irrational just out of habit.
Every visit to Ikea I secure a fluffy bunny from the kid's toy department and place it gently in one of the saucepans in the kitchen displays. I started doing this in the late 80's and I'm still doing it now, not sure why (other than it makes me laugh). Please post yours to make me feel better about mine. |
Re: Odd habits you've formed
Not sure if it's an odd habit because I know other people that do it, but when I'm sitting down I have that foot tapping habit where your leg just shakes continually and you don't try to stop it.

I tell my wife I love her. In today's society that's gotta be odd.

You still talk to your wife? |
Re: Odd habits you've formed
I just formed a new habit...moments ago.
While eating my lunch of a grilled, bacon-wrapped Johnsonville Brat, some BBQ baked beans and chips, I started scooping up the baked beans with the chips (like tortilla chips/salsa). It's amazing. I will never eat beans with a fork again. |

On the 18th of every month, I wake up and tell my wife" Happy _____-month Anniversary!" I've never missed a month in the 118 months we've been married. Serious. Shows the math-nerd side of me too I guess. |

For 3 out of 4 weeks every month. |

hab·it (hbt)
n. 1. a. A recurrent, often unconscious pattern of behavior that is acquired through frequent repetition. b. An established disposition of the mind or character. 2. Customary manner or practice: a person of ascetic habits. Come on, people, focus, damn it! 'Habit', not some recent affectation. GOSH! Re: Odd habits you've formed
I hoard rags. I was looking for something the other day in my garage and noticed I have 4 large boxes of rags and a box of towels I use as rags. Never realized how many I actually had and how I was obsessed with them. When my wife has t shirts and clothing she is throwing out I take them and cut them up into rags. My sister and parents have given me their old towels to use as rags. When we stay in a hotel/motel/Holiday Inn I always seem to snag a towel for my collection. I do go through them but not at the rate I'm collecting and my thought is you can never have too many rags. Well I think I do.

OK, but you're not nesting in them so it's not that weird, IMO |

The box I found in my shed something was nesting in them. Even with as many rags as I have I will wash them. |

Unless it was you or a family member (not a pet) then it doesn't count. |

Re: Odd habits you've formed
Not sure if it's a habit but I do it everyday and makes no sense.
I love survival shows on the discovery channel even though I've never camped and never want to. My favorite show is Man Woman Wild. At first I thought it was going to be about DynamiteRave but it turns out it's about a married couple and the wife is an attractive MILF with a nice rack. So basically it's how to survive in the amazon while feasting on Snakes and Maggots with boobes hanging out. Great show. |

I also do this when I hit up the local Mexican joint (which is once in a blue moon since the kids aren't adventurous yet). I'll mix the beans and rice, and eat it with tortilla chips. |
