It's been a while since I've graced WP with my even-tempered and moderate presence, good to see it's thriving still.

Can I get an update from anyone who posted back in 2009 when I was last around, please?

Matty has gone all super ego on us and has a strict gag order in place ... he uses Smoot as his paid thug although some, new guy - something something Scud - laid a beat down on a couple newbies ... We're not allowed to leave ... Quickly, before they delete this, get word to our families ...

Like a lot of other people, the economy wasn't kind to me. Add that to a death in the family and you have sitcom material for a year or two. So I decided to be more focused, studied to add some much needed certs to my resume, got a new job (in the Mojave Desert) and now things are calming down I can relax and repeat my mistakes of the past.

Yay!

The Redskins are going to be better this year, right? :doh:

We've had plenty of threads about road rage and vasectomies because the WP is having a ton of babies (myself included in 2 weeks actually).

We had someone rent a billboard on a public bus saying "Sell the Team, Danny" and an Uncle Sam impersonator in Redskins colors stop in to get Facebook votes in a fan contest.

You didn't miss much, mainly the usual "the sky is falling" type rants and raves on game days and the same crazy offseason trade scenarios that were going on back when you were here.

Also, firstdown has become our court jester. His spelling is so bad that it entertains us and lately I think his "doctor" visits have been chemically affecting him because the threads he's been starting are really out there.

Firstdown, no, I didn't enlist. Sadly they wouldn't take me even with my extensive previous experience with the 'Redcoats'. I actually work close to Ft. Irwin though at [URL="http://deepspace.jpl.nasa.gov/dsn/"]this[/URL] place.

Well this is our second (and last) so we've already been through everything.

However, this is a daughter, so I need to go gun shopping before she starts dating.


I forgot a few things that happened while you were gone.


We loved the Haynesworth pickup and hated the D-Hall signing.
McNabb was a steal of a deal...in our favor.
Shanahan's firing was called for several times.
Hunter Smith's departure broke hearts.

Don't forget, people are getting upset that the Redskins are giving big money to guys who are either career backups or just haven't proven themselves yet. They'd rather we spend it on guys above 30 with proven track records of success, like it used to be in the past. And we're doomed, DOOMED I TELL YA! with John Beck at quarterback.

heya, i did two tours and have been abscent quite a while, but i'm now about 10 days unemployed and loving it, though i should start the job hunt at some point :P

On a serious note, he was a reporter that tried to get a pass to cover the team way back in the day. This was before EX became the official 'Skins board, and all the 'Skins fan sites had credentials for training camp access. Apparently someone in the 'Skins FO had a vendetta against him, and denied him access, and not sure if this timeline is correct, but I think shortly after that EX made a deal with the 'Skins to become their official team board, and the only 'Skins forum with access to TC.

He was granted a press pass/creds/whatever for a couple of years and wrote some stuff for us and was able to get interviews with players which he posted here. It was great stuff.

A few weeks (maybe sooner?) before training camp in '05(?) the Redskins bought/aligned-with ES and denied access to all other fan sites.

Yeah, I remember thinking at the time it was f'd up that they cut his access. I enjoyed reading his interviews and stories. Pretty much everyone here enjoyed it. It's disappointing that the Redskins aligned themselves with ES but oh well. There's plenty of areas all over the internet to get our access from.
