Armstrong vs. Ochocinco

Who do you think would win? |
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
Banks would blow by Ocho Cinco within 10 yards
|
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
Ocho would get destroyed, banks would win over the 3.. AA is a burner though
|
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
Ocho would get smoked by both Banks and Armstrong. Is he serious?
|
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
I remember Ocho being tackled from behind by an LB or DL in a preseason game. Yeah, he may have been slowed down by the other defenders, but it's still a lol.

HaHA, I would love to see this race if it ever happened. He's been hanging out with T.Owens to much. Off topic, only because your post reminded me, I was looking at some old vids today and seen a clip where Hunter Smith ran down Deion Sanders. Got a laugh out of that one as well. |
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
This is great publicity for Armstrong and Banks! Old ass Chad ain't gonna beat them.
|
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
They should invite Desean Jackson and Jacoby Ford to the race while they are it.
|
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
Banks, when his knee is healthy, is among the fastest 5 guys in the league in a straight up foot race. Hell, he ran a 10.4 100m in HIGH SCHOOL. That is super ridiculous crazy fast. It projects to like a 10 flat in college which puts him on the second tier below Olympic level.
Honestly, I'd take him in a foot race against the entire league. AA is also fast. 85 would look old slow and stupid. |
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
Desean Jackson is the fastest WR
Chris Johnson is the fastest RB Banks is top 5 along with Ford from Oakland.. I bet DHall is among the fastest CBs. |
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
I wish they still did the fastest man competitions. I'd love to see Jackson, Johnson, Banks, Ford and a few other guys just do a straight up 100m. I think it'd be between Jackson and Banks. Banks may have a little advantage in that he sprinted before and would maybe be a better starter. Jackson has shown he is faster than Johnson ina foot race. Ford is a question mark.

Me, too. I loved those competitions. Former sprinters would have a significant advantage. Track skills take time to develop. The man with the most top end speed doesn't always get to the finish line first. I just read in another post that Jamall Charles was a Big Ten 100m champion. I'd love to see him get involved, as well. If I recall correctly, wasn't Jacoby Ford an ACC sprint champion? Anyway, there is some great speed in the NFL right now. Now would be a good time to revive the NFL's Fastest Man competition. It beats following the labor dispute. |

Same could be said for getting a root canal, tearing both ACLs or having elective brain surgery. |

Forgot about Charles... I give a nod to the guys who were sprinters in the past. There's NFL fast and sprinter fast. Sprinter fast is faster. And watching Johnson and Jackson run on Shaw vs. sorta showed me that Johnson isn't blazing fast in a foot race. Jackson easily outpaced him. |
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
Id like to see Ocho and TO race right off a cliff.

Back in 86 & 87 I believe it was, Darrell Green smoked em all - including Willie Gault & Ron Brown who were both on the 84 gold medal 4x100 team. Is Banks really that fast? I know he's quick but that doesn't always translate to straight speed. |
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
Read the article, I think Chad knows he is slower, that is why he wants AA and Banks to do a baton pass. The race will be him vs them.
|
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
He is just talking smack, he should go back at look at their 40 numbers. For Chad's sake, hopefully he just finds some sort of excuse. Otherwise it will be embarrassing.

It's can the receiver get off the line for one and how fast can they get in and out of their breaks. AA and Banks might be faster at the 100 yrd dash but Ocho might be faster on the field simply due to his ability to get in and out of his cuts faster. In any event it's nice they are having friendly banter but I'd rather see the production on the field. Wage a stat war or something. Who gets the most yrds and catch's or yrds per catch. I'm sure there are a ton of people who don't play football who could match up well on the 100 yrd dash. |
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
SBXVII, a stat wager would be pointless IMO because offensive stats are a product of so many other things(targets, QB, coach, offense, defense, etc.).
I think the whole point of this challenge is simply to compare speed. There is no mention of NFL speed. That comparison is really open to debate because of the factors I have mentioned and subjective qualities too. Pure speed can be quantified relatively easier. |
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
Banks and AA are faster than Ocho on the field or off. Doesn't take a genius to see that.

Chad knows this...which is why he's suggesting a 200 or longer race. They'll embarrass him in the 40...he can only hope he can make it close at a longer distance. Also notice how he wants a hand-off for them, while he can continue uninterrupted. He's trying everything he can to close the gap with variables that could benefit him. Will he do it? Sure...crazy dude raced a horse to keep his word. I'd like to see if Darrell Green can still beat Ochocinco. :D |
Re: Armstrong vs. Ochocinco
Well I'll go further and say Darrell Green could still run faster than 85
