Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Obviously it was a pretty disappointing season but that doesn’t mean that there wernt some positives. So whos your 2010 Redskins MVP?
Fletcher – Leader on the field and in the locker room. Not only the most consistent player on the team since he put on a Skins uniform, but also in my eyes easily the best player over that time period Orapko – A defensive player that actually show emotion? No sophomore slump for him. D. Hall – lone probowler, probably because of his interceptions, 4 of which game in 1 game. Not super consistent, but played pretty good overall. Ryan Torain – Missed a few games but was probably our most explosive player on offense Brandon Banks – he likes to run back kicks Anthony Armstrong – Best route runner on the team in my opinion. Great attitude and pretty much our only deep threat. Santana Moss – Quietly had a awesome year Lorenzo Alexander – Willing to do anything and does a great job doing it Laron Landry – Played damn good through a achilles injury. Mike Shanahan – Not caving in what the owner or the fan demands. Maybe he has a better prospective on things then us? I probably got to go with Moss, I might also go with Armstrong because he did what Thomas, Kelly, Williams, Austin and Galloway was supposed to do. Its hard in my eyes to go with anyone on defense considering how horrible it was. Who's yours? Am I missing anyone? |

Santana Moss

Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Moss. He was consistent all year long. Fletch would prob. get some votes but I feel he had a down year by his standards, especially given how poor our d was. I can't give it to anybody else on our defense, Landry could've been a candidate but he missed too much time, Orakpo had an awesome first half but was noticeably missing in the second half mainly because he wasn't getting sacks because he was getting held, and he wasn't getting flags because for some reason almost every time he was held the refs didn't see it. He really is going to have to step his game up because I'm pretty sure whatever OT he goes up against has noticed by now if you hold him odds are it won't get called.
Cooley had a consistent year as well and a nice rebound year from last season, but it's hard to argue against Moss. Everybody else on the team either was injured for a portion of the season, or just sucked or had a down year. |

Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Lorenzo Alexander for what he has done on the field and off the field.
Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander has been selected as the Redskins’ 2010 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year. The award is given to one player from each NFL team who has displayed an exceptional commitment to community and charitable work. “Being able to enrich myself in the Washington, D.C., community and gain their support and make this community better than it was before I got here, it’s an awesome feeling,” Alexander said on Thursday. “This is my home. I plan to stay here after I’m done playing and I want to continue to do [charity work].” Here is a link to the article.Alexander Honored For His Community Efforts |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
D. Hall. I know everyone hates him, but he won the Dallas and Chicago games; having four picks against the Bears.
|
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
D. Hall #23 .... he is a pro-bowler

Its great that some players like to be nice guys off the field, but to me its never been a motivating factor in deciding how good a player is, in my opinion his play solely dictates that. Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Moss gets it on offense.
Fletcher on Defense |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Offense - Moss (honorable mentions: Armstrong, Trent Williams, Cooley)
Defense - Fletcher (honorable mentions: Landry, Orakpo, Hall) Special teams - Banks |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
I think Rex would have got it if he started from day 1.
7 TDs in Three games is pretty impressive, give him 16 games and he may have had 25 TD passes |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
fletcher then moss.

Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Moss gets my vote. Guy's a trouper and still gets it done.
|
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
London Fletcher by a comfortable margin IMO. He also seemed to really pick it up at the end of the year. Pretty incredible for a guy his age.
|
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Got to hand it to Moss. Just looked up his stats and he had a really good year considering all the aspects.

Totally, I really hope that guy is not the starter next season but he did decent work as a fill in. But like you said, he makes way more mistakes than he should |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Orakpo is #1 on my list.
Fletcher is #1 (a) on my list. The next player on the list - - whomever you wish to put there - - is #27 |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
OFF - Moss
DEF - Hall...would have been Landry if healthy ST - Banks ROY - Trent Williams Honorable menrtion: Keiland Williams |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Moss, T. Williams
Fletcher, Hall |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Fletcher.
Ditto, no question.
|
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
D. Hall !!!!
|
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
I would have said Fletcher but D didn't have a strong year at all, so Moss gets my vote.
|
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Moss - Fletcher - Banks
The choices are clearer this year than last. 2010 Washington Redskins Season Superlatives: Handing Out Hardware After An Uneven Year - SB Nation DC |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Team MVP is Fletcher. I think his ability, passion and willingness to do what was asked set the tone for the team. His consecutive start streak is amazing, and he was covering TE's down the field or on the line stopping the run.
Offensive MVP for me would be Anthony Armstrong, not because he was the absolute best, but because he added a dimension to our game that we haven't seen in a long time. He opened up the routes for Moss, like DT, MK, BLloyd, and numerous others before him had failed to. And that one catch where he went up and battled the ball away for the critical catch was outstanding. Defensive MVP: This is the hardest one, because our D made so many more poor plays than positive ones. DHall comes to the front because you can easily say his individual play won us at least 2 of our 6 games, Dallas and Chicago. Laron Landry was right up there till he came out, and I wonder how many games we lost because his presence was missing, no one came close to making the same impact he did. 1 and 1a I guess. ST Brandon Banks. At the Packers game he stepped on the field and the whole stadium seemed electrified. I hope he develops into a fully recognized threat ala D Hester and D Jackson. |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
I have to go with Fletcher, with Banks being a close second

Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Some of you guys surprise me..
I don't think you can question that offensively it has to go to Santana, but defensively nobody other than Fletcher and Landry played a consistent game. I'm shocked DHall made the pro bowl, had it not been for his 4 INT game..This guy can't tackle and really isn't even that great of a cover guy. Just good hands. Orakpo gave up after about week 10 in my opinion. Lorenzo played a consistent game, not the most skilled guy, but he's certainly got heart. |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Fletch.
Honorable mention to Moss. |
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
They surprise me too they want rid of Moss but what is really hilarious is when they slam Gibbs.
|
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Brandon Banks. For once the Skins had a bonafide return threat.
|
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
London Fletcher. I wouldn't even want to think about this defense without him....come to think of it...I really don't want to think about this defense anyway. :cheeky-sm It was good to see young guys like Barnes step up though. :thumb:
|
Re: Your 2010 Redskins MVP
Rabach, of course. :silly::cheeky-sm
But seriously: Landry and Fletch, IMO. Never thought I would say that about Landry. |
