Orakpo might be done for the season
bummer

Re: Orakpo might be done for the season
No sense in risking further injury for this season. Heal up and have him fresh for 2011. Might as well get Rob Jackson or Jeremy Jarmon some playing time.
Offensive line coaches throughout the league should show films of Rak to teach them how to hold and get away with it. |

Nothing left to play for important enough to even consider playing through an injury at this point in the season. |
Re: Orakpo might be done for the season
Oh yeah, sit him. He's one of the lone bright spots, season's over may as well get him rested for the offseason.

Re: Orakpo might be done for the season
shut him down for the season. no sense in making the injury worse for nothing.

Three games, but I hope it is not too bad that his recuperation time will go into the offseason |
Re: Orakpo might be done for the season
uhhhh Sarcasm people .... our "season" was over when Riley blocked in the back on the Banks return to the house .....
|
Re: Orakpo might be done for the season
the whole team is "done" for the season .. but i must admit .. sexy rexy had his moments .. and he threw ZERO grounders .. McNabb should like the weather our here in AZ since he already lives here .. maybe one day i'll run into him at Scottsale and ask him what the hell happened.

McNabb's worm burners have been a staple of his career for years. Maybe less interceptions but he doesn't put it anywhere near where a good QB who throws it low gets it, receivers have absolutely no chance.. and often times they're open. He truly has some of his weapons to thank for masking deficiencies in his game.. DeSean wasn't catching all of those balls in stride or anything.. he was just blowing by defenders quickly enough that he could wait for the ball and still take it in. The era of him making no name receivers look good was quite awhile back. |
Re: Orakpo might be done for the season
I agree with the sentiment to just let him sit out the rest of the season. No need to risk injuring anything further. Go get healthy, and make sure you're healthy for the start of next season, because we'll def. need him back.

Re: Orakpo might be done for the season
Groin injuries always make me cringe a bit for some reason. I agree shut it down for the last few games, come back next year healthy and rested.

Re: Orakpo might be done for the season
Shut him down. This team is limping into the last two games.

Who did Perry Riley replace? Was it Orakpo or McIntosh? I noticed he played well on defense in the time he was out there, so I'm wondering if he will get increased pt for these last couple games if Orakpo is out. I think he replaced McIntosh but I'm not sure. |

Blades replaced Rocky in base packages, Riley came in on 3rd down and nickel situations |

Ah ok, I didn't even notice Blades was out there. |

Riley showed some explosiveness, quickness to the ball. |
Re: Orakpo might be done for the season
Riley will be solid .... but why is everyone so down on Rocky ? I personally like Rocky and with Fletch getting older by the minute we are going to need Rocky/Riley to be a part of the 3-4 scheme

Re: Orakpo might be done for the season
GTripp will gladly fill you in on the suckiness of Rocky.

yeah, he pretty much says that Rocky sucks in the following: reading plays, coverage, taking on blocks & sometimes his tackling too. He did say that he "looks imposing" though. :) |

LB Rob Jackson to join active roster By Jason Reid The Redskins are expected to promote linebacker Rob Jackson to fill an opening on the active 53-man roster, a person familiar with the situation said Monday. Defensive lineman Phillip Daniels (abdomen injury) will miss the final two games of the season. He was assigned to the season-ending injured reserve. Washington selected Jackson in the seventh round (242 overall) of the 2008 NFL draft. Formerly a defensive end, Jackson played in three games during his rookie season and five games last season. He has been a member of the practice squad for the entire 2010 season. |

Apart from the fact that he never makes plays? Think about it: when was the last time you heard an announcer say the words "...WHAT A HUGE PLAY BY ROCKY MCINTOSH !!!" That, and the fact that Gibbs and Cerrato practically tripped all over themselves with a bag of draft picks to move up to get a guy who has never even sniffed the Pro Bowl is just a bit unsettling. |
Re: Orakpo might be done for the season
The drafts made by Cerrato and Gibbs II destroyed any hopes of rebuilding the franchise anytime soon. I mean deafting 3 RBs in one draft when we already had CP, Betts, and Cartwright? Think if one or two of those picks were gems of o linemen. That could have helped JC immensly down the stretch.

When did they draft 3 RBs in one draft? |

Nehemiah Broughton and Manuel White? And yeah they were both useless picks. Either way that's not 3 rb's in one draft. Unless that was the year we traded picks for Duckett, in which case that would be considered a valid point. |
