I was right when...
Well...isn't this necessary after admitting our "wrong" opinions lol?! Anyway, I'll start :)
I was right when I said very early in the off-season Skins fans should be very concerned about our defense under Shanahan/Haslett. In short, it's been a disaster IMHO. The new regime took a very solid 4-3 defensive unit, arguably an addition or two away from being elite, and turned it into one of the worst in football. I understand we don't have many players who fit the 3-4...but shouldn't that be part of the decision process before forcing the switch?!!! Now we face major personnel turnover to make the 3-4 successful. How long will it take? Will Haslett be around long enough to see it through (knowing Shanahan's penchant for axing d-coordinators)? Will Shanahan even be around long enough to see it through? |
Re: I was right when...
Don't we have enough I was right stuff in pretty much every thread?
Kinda the point behind the I was wrong thread. ;) |
Re: I was right when...
I was Right when I said this team isn't talented enough to make the playoffs..
I was right when I said the skins would beat Philly in Philly! I was right when I said the giants would own us again this season because we are their bitches every season. And finally I was right about Trent Williams |
Re: I was right when...
I was right when I said Casey Rabach is pile of hot garbage. Ad nauseum. That guy is captain of the suck parade.

Now, in addition to filling offensive holes on the O-line and at WR, we have significant holes to fill on defense. Perhaps we will be better long term with the 3-4, but it makes near term improvement much more sketchy. I was right when I said that selecting Fred Davis was a dumb pick. We already had Cooley, and DeSean Jackson was still on the board. By passing on Jackson, he fell into Philly's lap the very next pick, and his presence there will help Philly be a far more dangerous team to defend than the Skins are with Davis. I recall many on The Warpath touting Jackson going into the 2008 Draft. I guess that Snyderato missed that discussion, spending too much time on ExtremeSkins instead :spank: |
Re: I was right when...
I was right when I thought that are highest scoring game this season would only be in pre-season not in the regular season..lol
|
Re: I was right when...
I was right when I said Gano was useless
but yeah, like Matty kind of pointed out, it's easy for the naysayers to come out this time of the year and talk about how they were right about all the bad things. How's this? I hope I am right when the Redskins are fixing problems left over by VC and are on the right path if they have some continuity and build for the next 2-3 years. |
Re: I was right when...

Re: I was right when...
I was right when I decided to be part of Skins Nation and I am still right about not being a bandwagoner.

I was right about Clinton Portis being a good soldier under Shanahan.

I was right when I predicted that today would be yesterday's tomorrow.

Re: I was right when...
I was right joining this Site, I don't do facebook or anything else like that. I don't put myself out there like other folks, but this has been a blessing. Before I joined up here the only way I would get Skins info was from ESPN or Redskins.com. I know I dont post as much as others and don't have much friends here but I'm here all the time time like a fan.
Thanks MattyK72. :) |
Re: I was right when...
I was right when I went to the doctor to see why my hand was swollen, and he said, mooby you have tendinitis in your right hand, next time don't get drunk and fall asleep with your body weight on your right hand cutting off blood flow to it for 5+ hours. Here's these pills, it'll help with the pain and swollenness you'll have for the next 2 months.

I was right about Vinny Cerrato being a complete moron incapable of running an NFL franchise.

Re: I was right when...
I was right about the Bradford shoulder talk being overblown...so far

I was right when I said we should pay the price to move up and draft Bradford...so far

Will Shanahan even be around long enough to see it through?
That's a glaring overestimation of the defense from last year. Lots of older players who overachieved under Gregg Williams and were only going downhill without an infusion of younger guys. We've been in the 4-3 many times this year and they sucked either way. |
Re: I was right when...
Just wondering where all this support was for the D last year? I kinda recall most everyone being fed up with Blache and his ultra-conservative schemes. I think Beems is right, the talent just isn't there, and the age of the unit and lack of talent is glaring this year now that it's not being protected by a super conservative approach.
|
Re: I was right when...
Thank you Matty.
I don't think last year's D was the 'lights out, shut everyone down in their path'-type defense many of us are making them out to be. |

No one wants Blache or his "Landry as a guardian angel" philosophy back. But I would sure as hell like to grab someone who was an aggressive 4-3 coordinator. |

Blache had one big supporter here and that was his son, can't remember his name but we ended up booting him because he was such a jackass. |
Re: I was right when...
3-4, 4-3, doesn't matter if you don't have the talent to get it done.

I said:
Don't sign Jason Taylor, Haynesworth or trade for McNabb. Switch to 3-4 defense |
