RT @mortreport: Filed to ESPN: Redskins talk trade with the Titans again about Albert Haynesworth. No deal yet.
I got this off ES boards, but had to make this a topic. Apparently, they have been talking about this on ESPN and the sticking point is that the Redskins are asking for 2 draft picks. Man,I just want this saga to end... Some believe we are doing this,so we can trade for Vincent Jackson...(are we the Mystery team?) Could we see a 3-team trade between the Chargers,Titans and Redskins? Stay tuned guys!! |

As I think I said yesterday, get his FAT ASS outta here yesterday! Yesterday wouldn't have been to soon.

I think this word is the key point. Why wait until now? If he's gone, great, but had we done this sooner, it could've been much better for the team. |
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Skins will be lucky to get a 5th or a 6th, and even then it will probably be some sort of conditional pick based on playing time. I say F it, cut your losses and move on. The Skins will be a much better team in the long run by getting rid of this guy. He's going to be a season long distraction.
|
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Lets hope there's a 3-way trade that ships Fat Al to the Titans....we get WR Vincent Jackson and the chargers get draft picks..lol
And all we pay,is te bargain basement prices of good WR's of late...4th,5th or 6th rounders...lol That would be awesome and if anyone can do it...it's Shanny..lol |

If thats the best they can get then there's no way I'd trade him. |

Agree 100% with you... Remember people...we play the Titans this year! The only way I trade him,is if I land Vincent Jackson in some weird 3-way trade.... I would not trade him for some measley 5th or 6th rounder or conditional pick... Then watch Haynesworth explode on mcnabb in our matchup... We better be getting a good player of a 2nd rounder at worse or I'll be VERY disappointed in this trade... |

I thought he was only suspended for 3 games? |
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Trade him for Justin Gage or Nate Washington

Now you want to trade for VJ. Dude stop talking out of both sides of your mouth. |
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
LOL good point mredskins.. Like I said, trade him for one of their wr's. Gage would be a nice pickup. Maybe they also throw in a 3rd rounder
|
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Trade him for some Emotiva gear!
|
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
You know a lot of folks say get rid of him for whatever. F that, get something for him. The man can play, it's not like we're trading a special teams player. Get the most, the absolute most that you can. If someone says anything lower than a 3rd f them. Keep the dude these are a bunch of grown men, if they can't play with this "distraction" then why are they here ? It's a topic because everyone with a microphone or a pen and a pad makes it one. The players don't bring it up, the reporters do. Get value for him, if we get raped isn't it just like Vinny being here, or does it not matter just because it's not his named signed on the dotted line ?
Get value. |
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Agree with MonkFan. Gotta get something good for AH
|
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I'm not gonna get all excited and hope for something decent, like what his value is actually worth. Hopefully a deal gets done, if not then f it.
|
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Chris Mortensen just reported on ESPN that Haynesworth went missing at halftime against the Cards, that was the last straw for MS. He also says the Titans will not give 2 draft picks for AH.
|
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Sorry, AH does not get what he wants (outta here) unless and until we get what we want (something of value or 21 million). AH cashed the check. Shanny owns his ass and, if that's a distraction to some, I get the feeling Shanny doesn't care. Better yet, watch what happens to guys who become malcontents or "distracted". You don't play well, you sit and watch your value, UFA contracts, and glory disappear as other hungry to play step up.
If AH can't get with the program, Keyshawn his ass. Not like we're going to get our money's worth outta him. |
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
i would think though, if you were trying to trade his fat ass you wouldn't be talking so bad about him. If I was trying to move a guy i wouldn't be saying he played awful, lacked effort, ect...

re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Kenny Britt and a 3rd (conditions for it to be a 2nd) for Haynesworth (I'm not reporting anything here, just speculating)
|
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Can I quote from the article linked.
Exhausted by the distraction and lack of effort from Albert Haynesworth, the Washington Redskins have once again gauged trade interest in the defensive tackle from his former team, the Tennessee Titans, according to team sources. It is at least the second occasion the Redskins have had discussions regarding Haynesworth with the Titans since Mike Shanahan was named Washington's coach in January. The Titans definitely would welcome back Haynesworth, a team source said, but maintained that the Redskins' asking price was still too high. The Redskins are believed to want at least two draft picks for Haynesworth. A Redskins spokesman said he was unaware of any trade discussions involving Haynesworth but sources say the dialogue occurred over the weekend.
The Redskins aren't saying squat. The press has their antennae up for any news. To say we gauged interest means that we asked what they would trade him for. They gave a number, it was still not enough, so be it. He will be here, and still, I say, once the season starts, and he gets to play 50-75% of the defensive snaps, this will be a non-issue. Shanahan certainly wouldn't mind getting rid of him, and he probably says to BA hey any value out there yet. When BA says not enough, MS and Haslett just need to put their coaching hats on and get AH out there making plays. Regardless, this will be a media fest every week, as sources, leaks, and everything else throws fodder to the fire. |

42 catches as a rookie, sounds good to me
|

Can we give them Roydell Williams back! and then get Britt! Nah, Britt is their best WR, they aren't giving us him. Just dreaming. Can we give them Devin Thomas! lol

re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Here's Scouts Inc report on Britt:
2010 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc. Grade: 64 | Key Comment: A first-round pick in 2009, Britt played in all 16 games for the Titans, starting six and finishing with 42 receptions and three touchdowns. He is a good-sized receiver with above-average downfield speed and is surprisingly quick and agile on his release and in his breaks. Britt can sink his hips to get in and out of his breaks with a burst, but needs to work on being a bit more crisp in his routes. He can read coverages well and does a good job of settling into the seams and soft spots to provide a good target. Britt is a tall receiver with long arms and a wide receiving radius that allows him to reach out and pluck the ball away from his body. Still, he needs to improve his concentration to avoid dropping catchable passes. |

I think that the whole "trying to punish him" or "trying to get back at him" has not worked for MS. Just get rid of him period. Had we done this weeks ago, then maybe we could have focused on our defensive line a bit more and made an acquisition. Instead of doing this 11th hour crap. |
re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
The cool part is we would be getting rid of a malcontent and picking up a talented WR. I know he would not be available right out of the box but he would have 3 games to study his play book and watch the Skins on game day at home drinking a beer. Then he would have 3 weeks to practice what he has learned before he could play. He basically would be showing up in the latter part of our season healthy, and raring to go. Which would help us with our final games against the Giants twice I think, and Dallas.

re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Ok..Apparently..it's looking like Kenny Britt is part of this deal from what I'm hearing....
and Mredskins...We don't need a WR...But I want some value for haynesworth besides a late round pick buddy! I would rather have drunk troublemaking 2-strike loser Pro bowler for hayesworth, than a 2017 conditional 7th round draft pick. Value buddy...think value... Having said that...I would love getting a draft pick plus Kenny Britt for fat al...much more! Here's Kenny Britt's wiki page: Kenny Britt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Dude was a NFL Draft: 2009 / Round: 1 / Pick: 30 and the Titans want to move him. dude had 42 catches for 701 yards and 3 TD's as a rookie last season. He's 6'3" 218 lbs 21 years old This would be a very good move imo... If we get him plus a pick, that would be a steal possibly! |
