The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Well, it's after midnight, so officially training camp starts today!! So excited. Discuss training camp here!
|
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
It's Christmas, but longer, Hannukah maybe. Less free bread, more meat and potatoes. Hopefully with little indigestion. I'm hungry...
|
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
I just hope no significant injuries happen. And for this skins team to get ready to start off 1-0 vs Dallas! Httr

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Yes, this is the day that officially begins the 2010 Redskins season. The crucial part of the offseason in which we switch to full contact and quicken the temp. I pray we avoid the injury bug.
|
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
I'm just sitting here thinking about how long it's going to take me to get to Ashburn at that time of day. Normally a 40-45 min. drive, but nothing is normal around here at that time of day.
I'm going to try and view every segment of practice I'm able to get close enough too. With so many new players it's going to take a minute to decipher who's who. I want to have a good look at McNabb, the running and kicking game, as well as the defensive players trying to make the adjustment to new positions. Every area of the team will command my attention because the reps are going to be rapid. |

From the interview with Mark Schlereth in that other thread, it sounds like most of Shanahan's two-a-day practices involve no pads in the second sessions. The afternoon practices are technically walk-throughs, if I read that correctly. Hopefully that will help on the injury front (knocking on wood). |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Man, I'm supposed to go down to Ashburn with some fellas tomorrow, but I'm just getting in and am beat. I dunno...
|
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
What time do they take the field? You know what would be awesome? If Dan Snyder would set up a live video stream to watch the open practices on Redskins.com. I would definately pay to see that.
Mr. Snyder, if you see this post and do start charging for the streaming of practices I want my cut. I would much rather be employed by the Redskins in the IT department though. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Things I would like to see:
No injuries Offense coming together The Haynesworth drama dying down and him becoming a key contributor or getting his ass traded Defense ballin' too. I'm psyched. Right now feels like when an ex-gf you still like comes back to you and says, babe, we haven't hung out or been together in many months, but I've missed you dearly, and I want to be together again. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
So any idea when AH's conditioning test is?
I hope everyone at camp has their Tapatalk ready to go and give us instant reports!! ( thanks :) ) |

Well, Kelly's already injured his hammy at Hell week, so we're off to a good start.. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
I am so pumped about training camp starting today. I am jealous of any of you who can make it out there! Any info/observations/pictures etc from today's session would be awesome...

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Redskins Note: Cornerback Carlos Rogers confirmed via text message that he will sign his one-year, $1.54 million tender offer and practice Thursday.

Camp starts at 4pm? WTF?

They got to have meetings, physcals, assign gear and go over any final paperwork before putting them on the field. Think of the moning as admin time. I'm assuming anyway. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
It gives big TW time to sign his rookie deal and not miss a thing. ;)

That makes sense. Hopefully lots of positive startup info today - TW signing would be nice, AH passing his conditioning test, and Carlos making an interception at this evenings practice! |

Also, may our kicker be successful this year...finally...please. Still Gano? edit: WOW...my banner just changed as I posted...looks great. |

Hopefully from a Colt Brennan pass and not McNabb. |

Was thinking the same thing anyone but DMc. |

Speaking of back ups, how much does it suck for the second team offensive tackles that they'll have to deal with AH during practice. |

Or is going to remind coaches why the likes of Stephon Heyer can't be a starting tackle. LOL. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
will Brian Westbrook join the club?
|
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
For those who are going to be there, if it's not too much to ask, would you mind giving the rest of us a rundown of who is playing where and who is running 1st and 2nd team? I'm particulary interested in knowing which positions the D-Linemen and Linebackers are playing.

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Man, it's about time! July seemed VERY long to me. Football. At last.
Just want to see the team pick up what the Shannies are preaching (the younger Shanni is as big a pick up in a way as the elder--he was great as the Texans OC), and I want the D to start to understand the 3-4. It's gonna take time, no matter what. We need to remember that as we go. GO SKINS!!!! |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Big Al reportedly did not pass his conditioning test...emphasis on reportedly

Oh, man... so much for a quiet calm start to the AH camp saga! |

Really? I just heard literally a minute ago on the Mike Wise Show on 106.7 that he showed up this morning about 90 minutes early and passed his fitness test. |

Well we'll see. I believe the conditioning test has multiple levels to it and he passed some of it yet maybe not enough to satisfy the coaches |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Shit. I was hoping he would show up geared to prove everyone wrong.........
|
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Ok now Wise is saying that Jason Reid is reporting that Haynesworth "killed it" during his conditioning test, however Jay Glazer is saying that Fat Al passed the first part of the test but failed the second. Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised is Reid got it wrong.
Apparently the coaches are in a meeting right now. |

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
So basically, noone knows just yet. It could be great, it could be troublesome.

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
will Brian Westbrook join the club?
I hope so! He would be a very dangerous 3rd Down Back for us, especially since he worked so well with McNabb for years. I'd love to see him burn our division rivals. One thing I know for sure is that he absolutely killed us! Adding Brian Westbrook would give us another player that opposing defenses must account for on 3rd Down or in the Red Zone, so I'm hoping that the Skins will sweeten their offer to him enough to persuade him to accept the 3rd Down role here. Of course, I'm just speculating that he's hoping to land a chance at a starting job somewhere else. |

Yeah if I had to bet I'd say that's what happened. |

Which is great for the media outlets. Ugh, I just want this over and done with. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
if AH passed it last year, as out of shape as he was, you think he'd be better off this year after (allegedly) losing ~30 lbs, right? just trying to rationalize and be optimistic here cuz i'm gonna scream if he's showing up not ready to do work.
