Re: More Motivation For McNabb
Wow...what an a**hole. He owes those incredible numbers to number 5 and to disrespect him like that when he leaves? I am really pulling more than ever that Philadelphia is exposed with the loss of McNabb. I hope their first round pick is a huge bust, I hope deSean never has those kind of numbers ever again, I hope Kolb turns out to be a massive disappointment and I hope they languish for the next 10 years while we return to prosperity.

Re: More Motivation For McNabb
I didn't think I could hate the Eagles any more than I already do, but DeSean Jackson comments have helped push me over the edge of reason. What a punk ass.
God I wished Sean Taylor was still with us. I know that's a terrible way to look at it, but still. I can't wait to see what Kolb is made of when Demarcus Ware or Brian Orakpo are barreling down on him on 3rd and 15. Can't wait. |
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
#5 will have a monster season i know he has a huge chip on his shoulder to prove people wrong
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
I ran into a couple of hard core Eagles fans who were here for the weekend. Nice guys,( they bought me a shot of Mccallan) but they were very, very reluctant to jump on the Kolb band wagon and didn't really bash McNabb at all other than saying it was time to "part ways."

Re: More Motivation For McNabb
Calm down folks, what else should Jackson say? Of course he says the team won't miss mcnabb.. It's may lol let's see if he says this after week 3! The kid is a great talent but like most young athletes he's cocky and confident at the same time. Donovan will prove all the naysayers wrong this yr.
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
Desean could have acted like a professional and kept his damn mouth shut, that's what he could have done.

He could say, "Someone like McNabb is hard to replace. But we have complete confidence in Kolb." He didn't have to take a shot at McNabb. |

I agree that was one of the biggest insults ever to McNabb. Desean basically stated McNabb was nothing more than a camp body. The Eagles organization didn't lose anything really? They didn't lose any leadership with McNabb departure? The franchise QB record holder was nothing? WOW!!!! |
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
Who taught DeSean Jackson how to approach public relations? Clinton Portis?
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
When we play PHI, everytime we score a TD, someone has to do the Jerk dance as a dis to DeSean.
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
I liked how he responded with class and said "I am a Redskin now."
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
I don't think it's as a big of a dis as you guys are making it out to be. First of all, what's he supposed to say? "I'm so upset we traded McNabb, and I just don't know if our offense will be successful without him?" Come on. Second of all, I think it was more of an endorsement of Kolb than a slap at #5.

Wow, are you serious? You don't think that he couldn't have responded with some class? He needs to understand that there is a pecking order in the league and McNabb is a few weight divisions above him. Furthermore, he's only like 23 years old and has had 2 decent seasons in the league. As such, he should at the very least pay his due respect to one of the top quarterbacks in the game and acknowledge McNabb's contributions while having confidence in his team. There are two extremes, DeSean went one way, you're saying he couldn't have gone the other way, I say there is a fine balance between the two. |

No I'm not. Sure, Jackson could have given McNabb more props, but I don't really think it's the diss that everyone around here is perceiving. Actually, Jackson is probably telling the truth. Kolb is a good young QB, and I wouldn't be surprised if their offense is running pretty damn smoothly so far this offseason. That said, it would have been classier for DJ to preface his statements with something like "McNabb is a great QB..." |
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
There is no "more" motivation needed for our QB, he's already HIGHLY MOTIVATED. He and his teammates came up short of winning the big one for the sorry ass iggles franchise. He came in here to get that job done for the SKINS!
I expect Kolb to be a big disappointment for that club. Be careful what you wish for. |
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
What I take away from this is that we've replaced a very classy QB with another one. McNabb could not have answered that insult with any more tact. A sign of a classy leader. I'm glad we don't have Roethlisberger or Vick - good QB's, but perhaps questionable morals.
...and D.Jackson will get what's coming to him. |

Interesting.... I can understand where McNabb is coming from when he says"when you're with them they have good things to say, when you're gone it's all negative. I was in Philly the week after Donovan was traded, talked with several fans I know up there. Based on our conversations, many thought it was time for him to go, they just didn't like the idea of him coming to the Skins. If Donovan plays well here, at least he won't have to concern himself with the likes of writers like Angelo Cataldis, who never wrote anything positive about him, or hecklers like Tyson Suskrand who spent his weeks before games thinking of things he could say to hassle him on Sunday's. Jackson's comments were somewhat different coming from a former teammate. They're something you would normally hear from fans. |
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
DM is not like alot of guys who play in the NFL you don't hear anything about him in the off-season he does his talking on the field in how he plays & prepares himself. d. jackson is an A#S he drops footballs before he reaches the endzone. Can't wait for the season to start we will be more competitive that i'm sure of.

Re: More Motivation For McNabb
This year, I am full of optimism. I know we have a tough schedule, but we play alot of the tough teams at Fed-Ex. We will win some games we will be picked to lose with DM, MS and the cast other guys who weren't any where near this team last year.
Desean is in for a rude awakening when the eagles lose more games than us. There schedule as well as the rest of the NFC east is pretty brutal, he will be wishing for DM over Kolb soon into the season. |
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
Who cares what DeSean Jackson says. His numbers are going to plummet next season without McNabb.
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
DM is a class act! We will be much better this season just because of his leadership.
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
I dont think this is a big deal. He didnt word it as eloquently as he probably should have, but he is probably trying to say he has confidence in the team to continue winning despite McNabb.
Also McNabb heard about this as a question from a reporter. I am sure if he took the time to look at the quote he would see it wasnt as bad as the media portrays it to be. Another example of the media blowing things out of proportion. |
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
Jackson has always struck me as a punk. Both he and Maclin seem to think they are the sh**. Both are talented, but, again, there seems to be this "I am sooo good, I don't need nobody" attitude about them. They strike me as being struck from the Lavar, CP, TO school of football players: ... Must ... Feed ... The ... Ego!!!
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
Jackson is a punk though. I agree with that.
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
I'm not going to read too much into this quote, could be a sound bite from a longer statement in which he just says that KOLb is going to be just as good as McNabb.
There is change underway in Philly though, and I don't think they know how much of a leader Kolb is. He might take a while to grow into the role. I could see this team really struggling this year. I'm sure Kolb will put up some numbers, but that doesn't always equate to winning. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a bad year, go about 6-10. |
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
He could have just said something along the lines of "anytime you lose a guy like McNabb it hurts your team, but we have confidence on Kolb being able to step in and lead the team".
Instead he dissed McNabb for no reason and came off like a punk, whether that was his intention or not doesn't matter. |
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
But do you really think is a personal attack that ESPN is portraying it to be? Its just a bit over-hyped IMO.
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
His comments are definitely headline worthy. He really didn't leave much room for interpretation. Looks like a diss, sounds like diss to me.
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
On McNabb's give a shit meter I bet this is a high one if that.
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
McNabb played it perfectly, kudos to him.
|
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
Yeah I agree about that. McNabb said the right stuff.
I think he has reached the point in his career he knows the typical baits and he doesnt fall for them. Also he has bigger things on his mind, beyond what Jackson said. I think the best part of that interview, which of course wasnt noted on the ESPN article, was McNabb's answer to a question asking him if he wanted to be a Redskins beyond this year. His response was something like "of course, I want to be here for a while but I will let my agent work on that. I am focused on football". |
Re: More Motivation For McNabb
I thought I saw McNabb in McDonalds eating some McNuggets. I saw McIntosh doing the same thing with CB McCauley. Can't wait for some performance based McNews. :D
