2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
Okay, I think that it's Week 8 (and a half), since Week 1 started March 5th, the beginning of the season. The Tuesday after Week 10 being when RFAs must sign their tenders by or forgo playing this year.
Was waiting for Smoot to start this, but got antsy. Let's go. |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
Wait, I thought we were still in week 5? Did we go through a time portal? I'm lost. :)
|
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
no, its week 8. we've just been in week 5 all april because smoot has decided he will only participate in mandatory mod activities. evidently, he's not happy with his contract and is hoping to get traded to extremeskins. Atleast that's what Clayton and JLC have been reporting. Schefter indicated that that Smoot is no longer on the market and we arent "actively shopping him" anymore, although they are "listening to offers." Personally, i don't see what the difference is. Word is out he's on the market and he's one of the best in the business. Rumor has it, we're interested in someone called TK who fits the moderating scheme we have at ES, but it can't be a 1-for-1 trade. I read on the bleacherreport that we want Jumbo included in the deal as well.
Personally, I wouldnt trade Smoot for anyof them. Unless he's willing to give back atleast $20 Million of the signing bonus on his most recent contract extension and then split that up among warpath members who currently have between 2,200 and 2,250 posts. |

Oooo, here we go again. LOL. Actually I heard he stated "He would do what ever the WP wanted, but if he wants to be the best Mod in the Forums then this is what he needs to do" I'm not buying the media hype on this one! |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
Wasn't actually planning on having any more of these threads after the draft....and I'm still holding out of the voluntary mod sessions
|
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
I personally like these threads as its easy to keep the FA conversation in one place, although i think a weekly thread might be somewhat unnecessary. Maybe monthly or just keep one going until it gets too big.

Agree. it's a good place to put misc. reports and updates. |

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
Smoot any news on the TO or Darren Sharper front... I saw an insider article on it.

Nothing new. There's no real interest right now as I understand it |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
I agree with Mark Schlerth, Alan Faneca would look good in a Skins uniform this year.
|
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
Just heard the Cards are interested in Faneca.

As expected the Raiders should be cutting Russell soon

That's news? I thought it was obvious after Round 1 of the draft (before then for those of us paying attention). :D

Haha. Na not really news, just a report.:cool-smil |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
Smoot needs to go down to the ESPN Insider department and slap someone.
"Redskins could get Sharper and Owens." Then of course the Matt Mosley "Haynesworth" quote that they keep posting over and over again while updating the Haynesworth story. "For the record I could still see this happening." Of course the quote is based on Mosely meeting up with Shanahan at the owners meeting yet they still post it. Seriously? I can't believe I actually pay for this. |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
Relax... T.O. is almost here ;)

Well it's not even Mosely's fault. The folks at ESPN Insider keep posting the same quote from the same article over and over and over and over till my eyes bleed. Here's the quote in all it's glory.
Matt Mosley I could still see this happening "For the record, I still think the Redskins would entertain offers for Haynesworth. I sat at a breakfast table with Mike Shanahan at the owners meeting and heard the tone in his voice when he discussed Haynesworth's decision to skip the offseason conditioning program. He feels like Haynesworth has already defied him in front of the team, and that's part of why he's already tried to trade him at least once."
|

I have nothing to do with Insider (anymore). And Mosley is actually not a Cowboys fan

Can somebody cut a good RT for God sakes.

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
Has anyone hear that our trade for Jason Campbell is conditional, He has to make the playoffs or the probowl for us to get the pick. Is this true, because if it is that sucks.

Yeah Clayton had that in his post-draft coverage.

I'm thinking that Clayton mixed up the conditions with the 4th/3rd that we'll give up for McNabb next year.. but who knows. Decided to Google around a bit: KFFL Community - View Single Post - Jason Campbell traded to Raiders |

Well before someone puts up a PFT link, here's some news on Westbrook. Looks like he is considering going to St. Louis.

someone (the mayor) on ES posted that Snyder sold the Redskins retail locations.. deal has been in place and switchover should be done sometime in May

You mean the merchandise stores? So does that mean it's just going to be under new management or they will be gone? If so, where am I going to buy my marginally overpriced Redskins apparel and accessories?!?! FED EX FIELD? |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
I'm guessing it's just new management, otherwise they wouldn't be renewing their leases not selling the stores. It's not uncommon for companies to sell the management of their branded stores. But they'd still be Redskins stores

Yeah, not uncommon at all in the world of licensed merchandise. Hopefully it brings a better selection of products and whatnot. Snyder will still get a cut and not have to worry about the leases, payroll, etc |
