Jason campbells trade value
What do you guys think we can trade Jcam for I think we can get a 3rd or maybe a 2nd with teams like buffalo and The rams might be interested
|
Re: Jason campbells trade value
No. I think Jason has next to no trade value. His performance toward the end of the season was pretty abysmal, factoring out the awful line and lack of a legitimate RB. He made bad decisions. Collins comes in a tosses the pigskin 30 yds downfield for an immediate completion when Jason couldn't do so all game long. I think Jason lost millions of dollars over the last several games of the season.

Re: Jason campbells trade value
I think teams that need a QB and don't want to give a high draft pick on a QB teams like the browns raiders bills rams seahawks and the 49ers I can see the skins getting a good pick for him
|
Re: Jason campbells trade value
i would think his trade value is slim to none.
|
Re: Jason campbells trade value
Keep him, give JC an O-line and a fast RB (Aldridge) he'll be OK.

I just don't see any trade value. Someone might want a 2nd stringer. I remember hearing JC's interview about if he will be back and he said something like he see's himself as a starter. I wondered if his bubble would be burst if teams only saw him as a backup. I think Rock had his bubble burst when he tried the open market and didn't get any bites. So he stayed for the amount offered. |
Re: Jason campbells trade value
Is this even a real question ?
|
Re: Jason campbells trade value
I like how everyone is answering that JC has zero trade value and yet it seems that everyone wants to keep him as our starting QB.:laughing-
|
Re: Jason campbells trade value
6th rounder maybe 5th at best

It's going to be hard to trade anyone with the possibility of a work stoppage in 2011. Furthermore, Campbell is the best option right now until we can develop a QB or until we have a team good enough that a rookie can come in and have success (like Flacco or Sanchez). |
Re: Jason campbells trade value
I think JC has some real trade value although it is hard to put a number on it. Maybe a #3 or #4. For all of his failings, he has a lot of starting experience and has had some success. There are some teams for whom he might be an upgrade as a starter. He would be a valued #2 for most teams.

I think it hard to evaluate him to give him any trade value but with better pieces around him he might be worth keeping. |

I really think we can get a 2nd or a 3rd for Jason Campbell

I'd take orton over Jcam any day |

thats exactly why campbell has no trade value. |

I don't know how Orton is better. His team had a 2nd half of the season collapse just like the Redskins last season (and that's with a solid line and Brandon Marshall). Although, I doubt Orton will be back with Denver next season. |
Re: Jason campbells trade value
Orton's a winner dude. He has played well and outplayed JC.
|
Re: Jason campbells trade value
I don't know if I would want him though!

But it's his first year in a new system? If it works for Jason Campbell it can work for Kyle Orton. |
Re: Jason campbells trade value
Anthony Aldridge? WTF are you guys saying? Your basically saying he is our answer at RB LOL

He still doesn't have trade value. THE STATS DON'T LIE. Wait, what thread am i in. |
Re: Jason campbells trade value
Campbell at best could get us a 5th Rd pick. His record and stats are not very good, I doubt we trade him anyway especially since Shanny probably wouldn't want a ROOKIE starting day 1

Didn't Cutler start Day-1?? |

No Plummer was there when Cutler was drafted. (I think) |
Re: Jason campbells trade value
Anyone think we could fetch a 3rd for Betts and Campbell?
|

No because Betts is Old and had a bad knee injury.. Our best bet for good picks is trading 47. |

Sounds good - - if only it were correct. And it is not... The Broncos did not trade Jay Cutler for Kyle Orton even up. So, the Bronx did not choose Kyle Orton over Jason Campbell even up. Go back and look at the trade that made that move happen. I believe the entire transaction was this - - but I may be "misremembering" to use a word coined by Roger Clemens:
Bears get Jay Cutler + fifth round pick. Broncos get Kyle Orton + TWO first round picks + a third round pick.
Do you know what "other compensation" the Skins offered the Broncos to make that deal over and above Jason Campbell? I do not. RUMOR is that all they would cough up was one first round pick + Campbell and nothing more. But I don't know if that RUMOR is right nor do I know what they may have offered in the deal. BTW, Jay Cutler will not turn out to be worth what the Bears paid for him in terms of players and draft picks - - unless all of the Broncos picks turn out to be cabbage patch dolls. |

You mean our tight end who had a foot injury? Solid. I still think this whole "let's trade Cooley" thing is laughable. Just as laughable as the notion of drafting a QB with a twice-injured shoulder with the #4. |

the browns rams raiders bills 49ers teams that do not want to give the 1st round pick on a QB but need one |
the browns rams raiders bills 49ers teams that do not want to give the 1st round pick on a QB but need one
He also has, at most, a year left on his contract. So those teams might be inclined to just wait until he is a FA rather than giving up a 2nd.

he wasn't? we still have campbell, the bears have cutler and the broncos have orton. i call that choosing orton over campbell. if denver thought campbell was better than orton they would have accepted our offer. |

are offer was 2 first and Jcam the bears gave orton two 1st and a 3rd |

Well McD sort of chose Orton over Cutler too. |

If that is what you call it and if you ignore all of the rest of the parts of the deal that went down, that is a good indication as to why there aren't a half-dozen NFL teams knocking down your doors to make you their Director of Player Personnel or their GM. It was NEVER a choice of Cutler/Campbell/Orton. If it were that simple, Danny Boy would have bid higher in terms of money for the three of them and gotten Orotn - - whom the Skins lusted after - - than the notoriously cheap Bears. This was a deal that Danny Boy's money could not make all by itself. |
Re: Jason campbells trade value
Another team would get better value by trading for him and we would get worse value in trading him away.
