Arenas Stored Guns in Locker Room

Wizards say Arenas had firearms in locker - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

Well I'm a fairly new to the whole pro-guns thing, but come on... How long have you been living in DC? You know there's a gun ban here and why the hell did you bring them into the locker room?

Couldn't he have just gone directly to a police precinct and turned them in? But instead brings them to the locker room so that team security could turn them in to the police.

I mean the whole situation seems odd at best but there had to have been a cleaner way for Arenas to handle things than this.

Although with that said, I don't think he deserves a suspension. Maybe just a fine for breaking the NBA rules.

what a buffoon. i guess the police will be talking to Mr. Arenas

Re: Arenas Stored Guns in Locker Room

I'm waiting for Mr. Arenas to one day come to the realization that there is such a thing as maturity and accountability......Bad decision after bad decision!!

If he didn't want the guns in his house because of his young child that's understandable, but his method of disposal could have used a little more thought.

dumbass, seriously wtf was he thinking have one of your boys handle oit for you or just call the cops and hand them over, just plain dumb

Big deal. I don't have a problem with how he handled it. He could have handled it better, but if at the end of the day he feels he kept his family safe, I don't have any problem with it.

Espically with the city having such strict gun laws, coupled with the NBA rule regarding weapons at league facilities. Anyone who knows anything about guns is going to see a problem with that. There's a lot of different ways he could have resolved his situation aside from the one he chose.

What a dumbass doesn't he know that he needs to own a gun more then ever to protect his new daughter from someone who might try to cause them harm.

why is this? smart guy trying to remove it from the home. i don't get the "i need a gun to protect my family" mentality? protect them from what? my daughter is 22, my son is 17, and i have never owned a gun. did someone forget to give me the memo?

ST might be alive today if he was able to own a gun instead of taking on people with a machete (sp). I was actually just kind of joking but I thought I'd answer your question.

Report: Wizards Draw Guns in Locker Room

Thought this merited its own thread outside the ongoing Wizards thread

Report says Washington Wizards Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton drew guns on each other - ESPN

If true...eff them both

Is it not shocking that people label NBA players with the thug label?

Re: Report: Wizards Draw Guns in Locker Room

I posted earlier about Arenas keeping guns in there. No wonder he wanted to get rid of them, there's no crime without evidence eh? How Arenas is still playing with the Wizards is beyond me at times...

Re: Report: Wizards Draw Guns in Locker Room

I'm not saying it's a good thing Pollin is dead but the fact that he's no longer running this team should prevent us from future outrageous deals like the ones we gave Jamison and Arenas. Because of his age and what he did for the city, it was always casually dismissed as "he's such a loyal guy" when he gave out outrageous contracts to players and kept a guy-Wes Unseld- in a role even he has said he was not suited for. And the NBA isn't like the NFL, these contracts are guaranteed.

Anyway, I don't know if the report is true but like I said if it is...eff them both. What an embarassment

They don't generally pull guns on each other in the locker room

Maybe they should change their name back to the Bullets

Nice. Still any chance we can get Agent 0 wins off the books with this. This team needs to rebuild through the draft. Can't believe we traded the 5th pick for Mike Miller and the other guy.

Re: Report: Wizards Draw Guns in Locker Room

the big question i have is if there is some sort of altercation between teammates involving guns in the locker room is the anyway that could void the contract? seems like pretty extreme circumstances if true, nd if it is it seems like the wizards should be able to get out of the contract due to actions detrimental to the team/franchise.

Re: Report: Wizards Draw Guns in Locker Room

This is going to improve their shooting on the court without a doubt. It's also going to help them play defense.

Gilbert Arenas admits himself that he's a goof-ball.

Dumb move, Gil.

Maybe he was just lobbying to return to the Bullets name.

If it weren't for his massive contract that can't be moved, we could deal him for Tracy McGrady who Houston desperately wants to trade. He's healthy but has been benched. He also has a massive contract, so maybe something can be worked out.

Boykins can run the show.

I don't think Sean had any problems with keeping a gun in his own home. Keeping it in a locker room is a whole different story.

I am a huge guns right supporter, but with rights come responsibility. Gil missed that part apparently.

I'm going to merge this thread and the one about Arenas storing the guns in his locker room.

What's the big effing deal here? I mean these are professional athletes . . . they're pillars of the community . . . and beyond reproach! If they want to spike their arms, shoot some craps, and blow their brains out well, who are we to say they're wrong?

my girl asked me what was the story with arenas. i started telling her but when i got to the part where arenas pulls out a gun, then his teammate did, in the locker room, over a gambling debt it all just sounded so unbelievable.

this story, if true as reported, is just so far out there. sports stories on and off the field are just getting so out of hand.

Yeah, he's an idiot and a distraction. He's gonna get popped (no pun intended) for at least 20 games by the commish. Hopefully Grunfeld can find some language in his contract related to these gun charges that will void it.

What a gigantic disappointment the Wizards are in every facet this season. Such a bummer.

It's not helping his case that he tweeted on twitter (yeah, I can't believe I said that either) about the gun charge, laughing about it. Then realized nobody was laughing with him.

Both Crittenton and Arenas should be cut asap. I think Ernie is going to be a very busy man from here until the trading deadline. This team is in desperate need of an immediate change to try and take all the attention away from off-court issues. I hope Ernie does something sooner rather than later.

David Stern is contemplating voiding Arenas' $97 million contract! It may happen and actually would be well deserved.

This would also help the Bullets greatly, since his contract could never be traded away.

IMO, people are blowing all of this way out of proportion. So what if he had a gun. Big deal. I thought his gun dance the other night was pretty funny, too.
