the article from espn.com

seems odd to have a one car accident at 2am and not have a substance of some kind involved, they are saying charges are pending so we will have to wait and see. sounds like he has alot of facial lacerations, i hope he is ok.

apparently his wife smashed the back window with a golf club to get him out of the car, and the police cheif says they found "Woods laying in the street with his wife hovering over him."

something just sounds fishy i thought i heard last week there were rumors of him creeping on his wife

I think theres a lot more to this story, this has domestic dispute written all over it.I would bet the story more resembles them getting in a fight, him starting to drive off and she smashes the back of the suv in anger. He drives into the tree trying to get away from her crazy ass
or maybe he just had a car accident
Maybe. But this seems fishy to me. I agree with Htown that it smells like a possible domestic dispute. What is he doing behind the wheel by himself at 2:30am (this is Tiger Woods, not any run of the mill celebrity)? Does he not know his own driveway well enough to avoid a fire hydrant and a tree? And how fast do you have to be going to smash a hydrant and tree at the end of said driveway? And why did his wife use a golf club to smash out the back window of the SUV if he was in the driver's seat? Why are police reporting alcohol was not involved if they haven't even interviewed him (they were turned away when they tried to interview him at his house after he got back from the hospital)?

It will be interesting to hear what Tiger's version of the story is. Chances are we'll never know what really happened.

If I was a guy with millions of dollars, talented at a sport (to say the least) with kids and a model for a wife, I would be thanking my lucky stars and NOT going behind her back.

Sometimes guys just don't know how good they have it.

Hope the guy will be okay though...

Even the stars have some wierd sh.. in their lives. Only the check is bigger to fix it.
I heard a baseball stars wife talking about infidelity in the sports superstar world. Effectively she stated, when you get the star, you get taken care of. You DON'T get all his.........attention. To many temptations. She additionally said, you KNOW that going in, and you have to be ok with it.

tmz.com? thought you were better than that, but the story seems likely, guess we'll find out whenever tiger decides he wants to talk to the cops, if ever. he is under no obligation to tell them anything since they are looking into a car accident and not domestic disturbance

Well they can't exactly make you come out of your house unless they have an arrest warrant or a warrant to enter your home. Either one would be overkill and draw more scrutiny to this bizzare situation.

Bottom line, the cops probably got a little nervous about the circumstance once they saw it was Tiger Woods and didn't do their due dilligence on the front end. They left the scene and now, probably, Tiger will be charged with reckless driving and get some petty fine.

My guess is that Tiger's wife has had her 2nd baby and she's going through some post partum stuff and he isn't getting any at home. He meets this Rachael fame whore chick, nailed her a few times and it got out. His wife w/out question caused those facial cuts cause apparently they don't match up with the car accident. And I agree she smashed out that back window while he was leaving, not to pull him out...otherwise she would've went to the passenger side. Even the most clean cut guys will fool around if given the opportunity. lol. Plus why is the fame whore getting an attorney if nothing went on? Tiger should've kept his driver in the bag! lol.

Pardon my common sense. I'm thinking if the couple, and specifically the individual that was possibly injured in the alleged confrontation do not wish involvement from the cops...........maybe they know best (at least for now). OR does Big Brother know best?

well, often times in a domestic situation, the abused - male/female rich/poor, will protect the abuser. It is in fact why domestic situations are very very dangerous for police officers. I don't buy into big brother, but it is understandable in this case. Even Woods defense of his wife, can be seen as him wanting to protect her, maybe when he shouldn't be.

Its his wife and what guy wants to have the national news talking about how his wife kick his a$$. We will see enough news about Phil kicking his a$$ we don't need anymore. I just find it funny how people really care about what migh or might not have happened. This stuff happens 100's of times everyday and no one cares so why the big deal just because he is TW. I never understood why people get so wrapped up in this celebirty stuff after all they are just people.

I'm not an adjuster but I'd say if what has been said is true or the story they stick with then they just pay the claim. I would think stuff like this TW just pulls out his check book and pays for it out of pocket as he does make over 80 mil a year. I did have a customer who had a son a father argument and the son picked up a log and through it at his dads car. Dad then picked up a log and through it at his sons car and this went on for about ten times. The wife called in to file a claim and sense both the dad and the son where on the policy the claim wa denied do to the insureds did the damage as an intentional act.

The FHP just held their presser and all Woods will be charged with is reckless driving. He'll have to ante up $164.00. No charges, no investigation, no nothing. Case closed folks.

So the $164 is the fine for reckless driving? If I'm correct RD is a major violation which "could" have jail time so you have to appear in court and not just send in the money. Maybe that why they charged him with reckless driving and not some other type of violation.

Well, technically, it was careless driving. Since no other vehicles, persons or limbs or passengers were involved or injured, it wasn't reckless driving. So charges won't be pursued. This isn't specific to Woods, it's the state law appearantly.

True. But that's the thing, no one really knows what happened or didn't happened. We just assume there was some domestic dispute because his wife was somehow involved. But none of that has been verified as a fact.

I actually applaud Tiger Woods for essentially saying, it's none of your god damn business what happened. I wish more celebs handled their personal lives like he does.
