Do you expect Zorn to be fired

What are you thoughts on Zorn? Will he survive much longer in DC? If you don't think he will survive who and when will take over as interim HC for the Skins?

Or do you happen to think the Danny will keep him until seasons end?

My personal opinion is Zorn will be fired before the end of October, as he has lost this team. And will be replaced with Mike OR Mike.

Your thoughts on Zorn and his future or lack there of in DC?

Zorn's gone over the bye.

No idea who's taking over though. But there's no way Zorn makes it through the season.

No, Zorn will not be fired.

We are just going to hire another consultant for our consultant...the front office will term it "a set of glasses for the extra set of eyes."

Re: Do you expect Zorn to be fired

I think he will be gone after the Philly game, I don't think much could save him at this point. 2 losses to 0fer teams, with 0 offensive production. I have no idea who will replace him, most likely an interim from on staff, but we don't have anyone worth putting there. Blache, he can't stand the heat of being DC, no way he will be HC. Sherm Smith, he doesn't call plays, so it is just more of the same. I think Bugel might be the best choice, if he will take it.

If he gets fired, it won't be until after the season. Otherwise, we lose all credibility with any of the big name coacheas that Snyder lusts over.

No? I've never thought Zorn would make it through the season. I'm not a huge fan of firing him mid-season, but I wouldn't be mad at it. It's no secret to anyone that he can't coach for beans.

LOL! A consultant for every position coach as well. We will have the largest coaching staff in the NFL.

According to a Washington Post poll 75% say yes.

Zorn will not be fired till after the season. We could see Collins start very soon. It's also time to bench Portis.

Re: Do you expect Zorn to be fired

I felt this way when Zorn was initially hired, and what has transpired these last 21 games with him at the helm has only reinforced my beliefs. Hiring Jim Zorn as HC was a massive mistake. The whole way that Snyder and Cerrato went about the hiring, with hiring him as OC first and then promoting to HC, was a colossal failure. Zorn clearly is not ready to be a HC in this league. Management needs to cut their losses and admit what a huge mistake they made by hiring him in the first place.

That's funny.

Re: Do you expect Zorn to be fired

This team has so many areas of dysfunction, firing the coach is just a small beginning to what really needs to be done to get this team back on track. Some players should be looking over their shoulders as well.

Management IS the problem. The coaching and the player personnel issues are just the symptoms of a much bigger problem that is our FO.
It is time for the fire Vinny signs at the stadium.

I may come up for a game just so I can raise a fire Vinny sign at the game. It is time.

Re: Do you expect Zorn to be fired

Man, I am just so sick with the situation this team is in. The bad thing is, I am not even surprised. The Redskins are in a no win situation either way. If Zorn stays the whole season, I honestly don't have any faith in him turning things around. If he's fired midway through, we have given up on the season.

The only thing that would make me happy is for Snyder to sell the team and take Vinny with him.

yes the firing of zorn would be an admission that the front office made a mistake in hiring him in the first place is snyder willing to admit any of his failings?

Well...I thought you posted the ship was sinking with Zorn. A little change of heart. Kinda like Danny is having right now!

Re: Do you expect Zorn to be fired

Fire Zorn & Cerrato. Hire Shanahan (if he's daft enough to take the job). Bench Campbell if he has one more bad game. Draft OL, RB, QB and DE in that priority order next year. Trade or FA for a veteran QB as we cannot use Collins as another over the hill stand in. We need a cull in the FO, and coaching & playing staff.

If Snyder can't/won't hire a quality GM for starters, we are in for more of the same for years. Without that, we proabbly can't find a quality coach who will touch us with a barge pole.

SFREDSKIN 10-11-2009 05:44 PM

Re: Do you expect Zorn to be fired

The problem I see with this team is that we have some many former 1st round picks with huge egos who think they are better than they are. If you recall the teams from Gibbs I, they were mostly mid to low round pick players and FA who weren't guaranteed anything and played with urgency to make the team and keep their jobs.

He dosen't view his lack acomplishments as failings. He thinks what he's doing is right, remember he said if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It's not a question of if, but when. The handwriting is obviously on the wall at this point, and Danny may have the support of the team at this point. Seems to me that many of the guys (mostly defense) are holding back in some of their comments. Hall looked like he really wanted to just "tell it like it is" in his post game interview.

Re: Do you expect Zorn to be fired

I think that the real problem is the team culture, not Zorn.

Nonetheless, the coach takes the fall, especially when an offensive coach produces little offense. Zorn may be gone the day after the Philly game, when we are on our bye.

The defense has been disappointing, but the offense is just bad.

I agree, to an extent. But Zorn certainly has not done anything to help himself here.

Re: Do you expect Zorn to be fired

I think Zorn will last til the end of the season and then get fired. But the problems run deeper than Zorn. We simply don't have the personel on offense. People can bitch about Samuels all they want, when he leaves the offense goes from bad to unwatchable.

Lil Danny is livid....

Let the Jim Zorn termination watch begin

Posted by Mike Florio on October 11, 2009 6:25 PM ET
With the Redskins finally managing to blow a game against a team that previously had lost every game it had played, and with "consultant" Sherm Lewis in place to absorb some of coach Jim Zorn's duties, it's not too early to start wondering when Zorn will be fired.

Early rumblings are that owner Dan Snyder is livid in the wake of Sunday's loss to the Panthers, which hardly qualifies as a surprise.

And firing Zorn won't be a surprise, either. The only question is whether Snyder wants to give Zorn a chance to beat the 0-5 Chiefs next week -- or whether Snyder realizes that firing Zorn might enhance the likelihood of doing so.

Either way, Zorn and I currently have an equal chance of being head coach of the Redskins in 2010. What remains to be seen is whether one of us will have the job next week at this time.

If it were a decision between Cerrato and my 4 year old dog, I'd pick the dog. At least she would maybe pick a couple o-linemen in the draft.
