NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
The interaction between JC and Zorn is very interesting. This video tells alot. Also shows the frustration from squandered opportunities. Click on the video on the right bar. This video also explains why we ran near the goal line.

Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Great stuff! Kinda makes it easy for the opposing team to bite our play, no?
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Now THIS is the reason why we have boards like these.. to share stuff like this... that's great stuff... actually answers some of our questions.
Dang that play where Campbell throws it a way... Sounds like Moss would have had the big play we want so badly if we had a line BLOCKING!!! |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Nice thread dimwit :)
Seriously though, great find. The most interesting part "I'm going to run the ball in the red zone right now just because we seem to not be able to hang onto the ball." |

Possibly. It definitely shows JC/Zorn's frustration. I will say this. Horton is a beast!! He was one of the best pickups we have had in years. He always comes to play!! If not for his two defensive plays we may have lost the game. |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
And what was that interchange with Zorn and Steven Jackson?
|

I mean SmootSmack!! LMAO (joking) Maybe it was Henson on the board that day that called me that. ROTFL JC seems extra pissed at his receivers and O-line at times. If we can get on the same page it would be awesome. This video was very telling. Seems like we had a lot of plays dialed up for Moss..... |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
A lot of great insight there, I love hearing the audio of what's going on during games.
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
That was a great video, I love getting a little insight into a coach's playcalling during games. That's the kind of stuff that you never get to see anymore. Thanks for sharing DMV.
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. Stuff like this makes me want to see Zorn and JC succeed even more.
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Great video, really good stuff. Really like the interaction between Zorn and Campbell.
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Awesome stuff, I really enjoy hearing the chat between Zorn and JC. Very interesting!
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
I really enjoyed that. Zorn and JC seem to have a good relationship. Good stuff!
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Thanks for the outstanding video.
I think more highly of Campbell now. |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Good thread.
Why was Zorn telling Steven Jackson that he's awesome? haha...funny exchange. Man this get's your juices flowing for Sunday!! |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
And what was that interchange with Zorn and Steven Jackson?
Seriously. Someone should have popped Jackson for getting too close the Zorn;) Zorn was right about the roughing the passer call. Bad call. Glad to see Jarmon getting some time. |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Zorn was semi-joking with Jackson. He pulled off some good runs and Zorn was like hey you are good but no need to run all over me.
A pretty cool video. I dont know what play they are talking aobut that would have been a TD to Moss. The protection just brokedown though...anyone have an idea? |

i totaly agree . horton is out playing landry so far this season. landry sometimes looks lost. |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Despite Horton making plays, he still really struggles in coverage. In the long run that still hurts us. I hope he steadily improves.
Doughty is much better and consistent in coverage. Horton is great in run support and the short stuff. |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Loved it. I'm with SS, the whole "I'm gonna run it 'cause we can't hold onto it" comment was very telling. Somebody here (not me) was saying that Zorn doesn't trust the passing game in the red zone. It seems like that was exactly the case.
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
I think Z trusts the passing game and JC but the drops were killing him. Perhaps he still has a leash on JC.
At some point he needs to just get over it. Zorn isn't an idiot(at least I hope not). He f'ed up and I hope he realizes that running in predictable ways like that, wont work. And drops are drops, they happen. When they do, they seem to come in bunches. Gotta keep trucking and things will improve. |

Actually, it makes me feel.......better about JC, JZ and the team |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Stupid video giving me hope that we're close to being good and whatnot. Arg, I want to be pissy a little longer.

It was second half, Montgomery got blow'd up, and Campbell started barking at Heyer. Shows that JC has some fire, I like it!!! |

As opposed to who? You really think Horton is better in coverage? Coaches play Reed instead of Horton on passing downs when they need more coverage over rush. Sorry but you are wrong. |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Love that video!

Doughty is much better and consistent in coverage. Horton is great in run support and the short stuff.
Everyone has their right to their own opinion and I am not going to knock you for that. But let me state the obvious. 1. Horton caused the fumble by Avery when they were within the ten. If I am not mistaken. I might be wrong. Avery was about to score a first down. Regardless of the specifics. He ended their drive in the "redzone" and gave us the ball back. 2. On the other play I think it was Avery also. He ran step for step with Avery and almost came up with an interception on top of that. IF he had not made that play there was no one to stop the receiver from scoring a TD and we would have lost the game. So a liability in coverage..I dont know about all that. He makes plays when it counts the most. *Avery runs a 4.2 40. |

I think it sounded more like Zorn wasn't trusting the hands of his receivers and running backs, since they had dropped two potential TDs. |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
The interaction with steve spagnola at the end is great. "It felt like an nfc east game" he said. and then thanked him for going for it at the end. U play to win the game
Anyone who thinks zorn needs to get canned needs to watch this. |

Anyone who thinks zorn needs to get canned needs to watch this.
Spagnola was classy at the end, though I thought when he thanked him for the end, he was thanking him for not running up the score, but just taking the knee. I mean with all the talk about our failure to score, Zorn could have used timeouts and run more plays just to prove we could get in the endzone. Assuming we got in, it would have been 16-9 and a little less of a hot seat for zorn. |

Yeah I figured that was what he was talking about as well |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
God Damit! I want to hate Zorn but after seeing that video makes it hard too. I kinda feel bad for the guy but im sure that will change if we lose to the Lions.
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
That was awesome. I love seeing the behind the scenes stuff with coaches and players interacting. I'd love to hear more of the raw tapes of that game.
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
My take away is Zorn is a nice guy, so nice you would not mind calling him uncle or dad but he is no NFL head coach, maybe a coordinator but not a head coach. Hate to see a nice guy fail but sadly that is what is happening in Washington this year.
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
Great video! Good insight in to what goes on behind the game. I like Zorn and hope he stays...the players are not executing the game plan! after seeing this I like Zorn to stay for a while (atleast 2 or 3 more seasons) and we will turn this thing around!

I don't really see how you don't see a head coach on that film clip. He is aware, pumping all the players up, controlling the game flow(when he told DSmith that he was not going for a FG, there was no back talk, everyone respected his decision), etc. |

I will agree with you if he is here next season until then he is not a qualified head coach, IMO. |
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
I know since this was produced by the team they wouldn't release it, but I would love to see that 4th quarter attempted timeout that Danny Smith stopped at the last second because there was about 25 still on the playclock. I'd love to hear Zorn explain his thinking to everyone at the time.
|
Re: NFL: Sound EFX a QB's Tutelage
^^^ zorn said players were blocking his view of the playclock.
like everyone said, great video, love the insight into decisions and communications. i think i heard zorn say "way to stand strong son" to JC which was cool. on that 4th and 1 play, zorn said (in this video) that it was our best play, he said in an interview it was designed for portis to run behind samuels our best blocker. it looked like portis could have stuck his nose in there and maybe gain the first down but instead he bounced it outside. portis said on radio the other day that he took the wrong hole b/c he was to excited and thinking about scoring. honestly, IMO portis screwed up that 4th and 1 play. the yards and hole seemed to be there yet he had a TD on his mind instead of the 1st down and the win. go skins!! |
