LaVar's status?
Lemarr Marshall has played solid ball. No great plays, no huge mistakes, but what are the chances of having LaVar back by the B-more game?
|
From Tuesday's Washington Times:
Director of sports medicine Bubba Tyer expects linebacker LaVar Arrington to miss Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens while continuing to rehabilitate from arthroscopic knee surgery.
|
it would be nice if Barrow came back then we could start him and move Pierce to L.A.'s spot till he is healthy but LaVar will most likely be back by then.
|
With or without LA this D is playing pretty good. I'm glad to see the D finally do some of the heavy lifting that the fans have expected them to do for a couple years.
|
i suspect lavar will be back after the bye week.

I think that LA would have made a positive difference though. |
There was an article yesterday that said barrow was going to see a new specialst this week

lets hope its not a job placement specialist... |

I think Barrow needs to get his ass in the game! He's been broken since we signed him - so either our guys that conducted the physical screwed up or Barrow deceived us on how healthy he was. We really needed him to help with LaVar out - and he let us down.
Looks like it'll be Washington, Pierce, and Jimoh on the linebacker line this week..... |
I heard Jimoh was starting at QB as well, and he'd be serving as OC as well as taking over for the ex-official up in the booth.

Yeah I heard that too. I also heard Gibbs is giving him a look at RB, H-back, and even letting him call some plays. What the hell, right? Everyone stinks anyway. |
Who cares about Barrow? Pierce is playing exceptionally well right now at MLB.
|

Now that Head Coach Jimoh is at the healm - the Skins will get back on track!!
Seriously, everyone needs to chill the F&*^ out... I'll tell you what, there's so much room on the bandwagon with everyone jumping off after 4 stinking games I'm going to buy up all the empty seats. And then I'm going to charge everyone twice as much if they want to get back on when the Skins are headed to the playoffs. If you look at what went wrong the past few games - turnovers, clock management, turnovers, penalties, etc... these are all things that can be righted very easily. These are fluke occurances - the Skins are still a great team this year. Turnovers will not keep happening at this rate every game - they just can't. I'll bet my Ade Jimoh rookie card on that!! Keep hope alive!!! Jimoh is on the way.... |
Head Coach Jimoh, now that made me laugh out loud, literally

The Ade's got to put in at least a few years as coach before he can become Commissioner Jimoh, right?! |
Matty's right, all the players do stink....but I trust in our GM, Ade Jimoh, to put together the undefeated SB championship team for next year.
|
i haven't seen the signs of hopelessness in this team that exist in the other sub 500 teams (49ers, bears, fins, etc etc), and i still think they'll turn it around... all the games are close, and the talent is there...
my biggest concern right now is finding a gem at DE so late in the first round... |
Finding a gem of a DE (which normally take what, 3 years to develop?) is hard no matter where you pick. We should trade for DEs.
|
kearse, rice, peppers all seemed fine the first year... but it is a bigger risk than other positions... and there are a lot of flops too.
|
Anyone know how O-gun is doing in Chicago this year? Just curious.
|
Ogunleye: 14 tackles (11 solo) 1 sack
Wynn: 10 tackles (9 solo) 2.5 sacks Warner: 7 tackles (4 solo) 1.5 sacks |

i was gonna ask the same thing. too early yet for me to eat crow on Ogun, but a young free agent DE seems 100x safer bet than a draftee. i suppose we should look at one who doesnt have a Jason Taylor on the other side... |

Comparing Ogun to Wynn isn't exactly fair. He got shipped off just moments before the season started and Ogun also has like 2-3 forced fumbles (have him on one of my individiual D teams for fantasy)
|
Wynn has looked surprisingly good this year. On pace for 10 sacks! I'm sure he won't hit double digits, but 5 sacks out of Wynn would be incredible considering who he is supported by on the Dline.
|
D-ends can make an impact fairly quickly....Kenechi Udeze is going to be a stud by next season.
|
i think wynn might be able to hit double digits this year if the defence stays aggressive and teams have to start game planning to stop the blitzes
|

Yep. That's what I had said at the beginning of the year....that the D-linemen will look better because of teams having to account for LA and our other LB's and DB's blitzing. Plus, I remember reading that this is the first year since he's been here that Wynn has been 100% healthy to start the season. Kind of ironic how everyone was worrying about the D-line before the season, but they have been solid at the least, and the O-line seems to be the weak spot....at least for now (I firmly believe that Buges will get them in order).... |
still, a killer DE would really help... when was KU drafted (what spot)?

interesting...
|
Lang was never really that good here I remember him having a monster year when he stepped in at DT for Wilkinson or Stubblefield then thought he was a big name DL player and demanded an equally monster contract.
One player we did give up on which really pissed me off was N.D.Kalu who wnet with Thrash to the Eagles. He had a great attitude and a great motor and he was starting the begining of this year ahead of McDoodle and Green. |
