Apollo 11 Mission Recreated

With the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission upon is, this is a pretty neat site that's recreating the mission in real time

The archived videos are pretty cool to see

Yahoo had a note that the original tapes were lost --- Let the conspiracy theorists run wild!

I was five when they landed on the moon and I can remember playing on the floor as my mom ironed cloths as we watched it on TV. Funny how you can remember certain stuff in life.

Yeah the dopes erased the originals. And the company who is digitizing these copies typically do historical preservation of...wait for it...wait for it...Hollywood movies.

I am starting feel like they faked it. Why would we never go back? Been there done that, I guess.

Didn't NASA go back like five or six times after that?

Wow that's almost exactly what is depicted in the EPCOT center, Spaceship Earth ride. You all didn't model for it did you?
Didn't NASA go back like five or six times after that?
6 manned landings in total. And I guess if you count Apollo 13 there were 7 attempts to land.

Too bad it isn't in the original. As the original is the original, as they say.

Yeah, I never get why people think it was staged considering we landed on the moon successfully 5 times after Apollo 11.

Ok they made five fake videos. Maybe they faked it to get Americans exicited about space travel thus help increase funding. Who knows but I still find it weird we have not been back in a long time. Have we learned all we have to know about the moon?

I think we learned it wasn't worth the expense of going there. The rush to the moon, was as much an off shoot of the arms race and cold war. We didn't want to let the Soviets set up a base there. Once we got there, we realized no one was setting a base there any time soon, and it became a footnote in space exploration. When and IF colonization becomes possible, then we would be back in a heartbeat.

I'm kind of on the fence with this one. From 1958 to 2008 416 Billion on its program and 17.8 billion for 2008. Seems like alot of money for people to fly around in space.
