Brunell's status?

Has anyone heard the status on him?

My early guess is he'll be ok and he'll start next week. My gut tells me Brunell could have went back in but Gibbs left Ramsey in there to see if he could give the offense a spark. Gibbs would have welcomed a QB controversy if Ramsey played well and got the 'W', but unfortunately we're still in the same boat.

I think his hammy is questionable, but his arm is defiently out. :D

SmootSmack 09-19-2004 09:00 PM

I heard he's day-to-day....as are we all

Gmanc711 09-19-2004 09:02 PM

I'm going to say questionable. I really dont know who I want to see in their next week. I want Brunell to be healthy. I really think Ramsey can run this offense, and if he has to go on Monday, I'm very confident in him. He just cant make retarded throws to whoever. The Coaches have to coach him to just throw the ball away if he dosent have someone to go too. Just throw it outta bounds, take the five yards if we have too, whatever. Anything is better than the picks. A hammy is tough though, I wouldnt be suprised to see him sit next week. I dont want him to go if hes not ready.

redwagonskins 09-19-2004 09:03 PM

A hammy injury can last a looong time. So now we have an immobile mobile qb and and immobile lost-confidence qb. uh oh.

That Guy 09-19-2004 10:06 PM

dont forget our dead kicking game ;)

actually our QBs got 44 yds on 3 runs, not too bad... but BOTH... BOTH had turn over problems... brunell has no arm, ramsey needs some mental cleansing... hell, testes is looking much better right now :(

We must fire any QB coach who allows his QB to keep making these mistakes. We were all discussioning the same thing last year and nothings changed. Ramsey had the nerve to be angry because he wasn't named the starter.

SmootSmack 09-19-2004 10:17 PM

Aside from Brunell, what about Phillip Daniels' status?

Drift Reality 09-19-2004 10:35 PM

It's time to bring back Mark "The Ripper" Rypien.

Can I get an amen?

redwagonskins 09-19-2004 10:38 PM

Jeff George is looking for a job!! On second thought I rather have Gardner lining up under center.

Gmanc711 09-19-2004 10:39 PM

I think I'd rather have you lining up under center.

illdefined 09-19-2004 10:41 PM

we should just start Lennie Friedman as QB. that way we get no more fumbled snaps and can play another TE to shore up the line.

:(

That Guy 09-19-2004 10:43 PM

maybe gardner is a better QB than WR... he has a 153.6 rating i believe...

That Guy 09-19-2004 10:45 PM

looked it up, he's 2-4, 46yds, 2 TDs and a 131.3 QB rating...

skinsguy 09-19-2004 10:53 PM

Hey Hasselbeck might get into the mix before it's all said and done! He didn't do too bad of a job in relief of Ramsey last year and during the pre-season! Wasn't Doug Williams the third string QB back in the 80's..and elevated himself up to starter? We all know what happened after that! Super Bowl win!!

redwagonskins 09-19-2004 11:02 PM

Gmanc711,
Thanks for the endorsement. The phone is ringing and I think it's Mr. Gibbs!

That Guy 09-19-2004 11:03 PM

except that tim consistantly looks WORSE than either brunell or ramsey (except for one preseason game vs 3rd stringers)

SmootSmack 09-19-2004 11:06 PM

At least with Tim we might got some shots of his wife! :biggthump

Gmanc711 09-19-2004 11:14 PM

Roger that Smootsmack. Thats practiaclly why I watched the games at the end of last season.

skinsfanthru&thru 09-20-2004 01:52 AM

did we keep that kicker from the preseason? cuz I dont know why he wouldnt have been activated for precautionary measures as a back up for hall if halls been hurt since last weeks game against tampon bay.

Shoot, maybe he would be better off a QB. Even though he made one of the best catches in a long time, he dropped about 4 others.

MTK 09-20-2004 09:24 AM

I really don't think Brunell's arm is the problem, he still has a decent arm if you ask me. The primary problem is his adjustment to the new offense and his new WR's, those kinda things can take time.

The offense struggled in the preseason and it's still struggling.

I can't remember who said it but a former Redskin said recently that we might not see this offense function the way it's supposed to until next season.

That Guy 09-20-2004 01:24 PM

yeah, the problem i saw was brunell only threw dinky 4-7yd passes, and when he did go deep, he was horribly off every time...
