Consolation....7 turnovers and lose by 6
There's something that has to be said for that. The d managed to keep is in this stinker.
true but very little consolation
You cant take these division games lightly. Look what happend to Green Bay, they got their asses kicked at home against Chichago.
our D will have to keep us in it for the next few weeks while our offense works things out.
It's the only silver lining I could come up with...
Man we better get it together before we face Dallas and we better make great strides before we meet Philly. I'm hoping the team responds big to this. Several vets (Coles, Portis, Gardner) need to stand up, shoulder the responsibility and have monster performances next Monday. I think Gibbs will have them amped to make up for this humiliation. I just hope Brunell is feeling better. |
I wonder why coach didn't take ramsey out and put Hassleback in after the second interception. That tells me a lot about the confidence he has in Hassleback.
And I agree that the D played their guts out.
is hasselbeack that bad? ramsey is done!!!!
Small consolation, though the D kept us in it.
Brunell is accurate, but can't throw it deep. Ramsey can throw it deep, but is making terrible reads. And we gae the giants life. We turned their season around. How could we do that to a hated enemy? ANd we will never get any respect now, and I don't think we desreve it. Now all the haters can come out and dump on us. I can't fuc*ing stand it. |
I was wondering about Hasselback too, especially after that third horrible pick. I guess he didn't want to totally destroy Ramseys' confidence. What do people think: is Ramsey that out of tune with the game or is his lack of snaps in practice killing him? It seemed he got really gunshy after pick 3 (who wouldn't).
Very small consolation. We lost to an inferrior opponent. But give them 7 turnovers and anyone can beat us.
Isn't there some sort of rule that keeps only 2 QBs active? And Hasselbeck can only play if he absolutely has to?
If he goes in, I believe the other two can't come back.

I mean he just cant make stupid decisions. He defintley had our offense moving better than Brunell, but Brunrell has the experiance to not make dumb throws. Thats why he is our starter and Ramsey is not. |
put Burnell's brain in Ramsey's body..................
I think your right.......in order for the 3rd QB to start the other 2 have to be unable to play........... Gibbs just isn't going to tolerate that kind of sloppiness from his QB...that's for sure. Ramsey was put in a tough spot and he tried to force things a little............BUT HE SHOULD HAVE THROWN THE BALL AWAY! |
One thing I did last year, that I'm not sure I want to do this year. That's give up on the starting QB after one game. I know Brunell didn't make the throws but some of the play calling wasn't the best against this defense. A short screen pass to Portis, Sellers or Betts could gain a lot of yards against the Giants. After the Giants stuffed our run on a couple of plays, we seemed to panic on offense and call pass plays into a lot of traffic. One after another. If think Betts needs to get more touches on the ball. What could have led to Portis's fumble is fatigue. I mean he was in the backfield almost 90% of the time. Come on, let's mix it up on play calling!
We scored on a fake handoff and a short pass. Did anyone see Brunell roll out to his right and throw a potential INT? If he's a lefty, why is he rolling out to his right?
Oh I caught that too, Sunra. I agree 100%. Now I'm not gonna start questioning Joe Gibbs whatsoever, but I thought that was very weird. I mean that rollout play has been awsome for us this season so far. Rarley has the Quarterback not had alot of time, but when Brunell rolled out to the right, he just looked very uncomfortable. Having to switch your whole body around takes a second or so and really wastes some time.
I'm very surprised that we were in it with 7 turnovers
It's not uncommon for QB's to roll to their opposite side. Should the QB only roll to one side all the time?? That would be a little predictable don't ya think?

LOL I just got the image of a QB rolling to both sides at the same time. :cheeky-sm |

Heck, Matty, our defense held Jeff Garcia to a passer rating of 0.0 and we only won by 7 points |
Brunell didn't roll out to either side after that possession. I think we need a QB with better footwork. The (dash play) When Joe Theismann would roll straight back and dash to the left or dash to the right and throw the pass. Gibbs doesn't favor the shotgun, but he should with these QB's.
ramsey isn't done, he had a bad day, but even with 3 ints, his mistakes didn't lead to points, brunell gave up turn overs that made points...
brunell has a serious problem too (besides HIS turn overs), he can't throw down the field accurately... that's caused problems for us in both games... no long passes... |
Even if Ramsey's turnovers didn't lead to points, they kept us from scoring points and that's what we needed
I think I have the solution really. Who's been struggling at receiver? Rod Gardner. And who had two completions for two touchdowns with a passer rating of 149 last year? That's right. Rod Gardner! So clearly the answer is to keep Rod in the lineup but move him to QB...maybe we can re-sign Kevin Lockett to back him up :dallas: |
