what a dick.

If I ever meet him I'm going to spit in his face.

Re: The Dark Side of the Dark Knight

He went to loony town for sure. Even went American accent on him. I think he was having a real bad day that day with his mother, sister and wife fiasco and all.

Still, Bale is top 5 actor right now and I'm gonna let this indecent slide.

Re: The Dark Side of the Dark Knight

Yeah, but he's a great actor and he's freaking out because someone is impeding his ability to act effectively. The cinematographer walked in front of Bale's eye line while the scene was being recorded, which is a very unprofessional thing, and which clearly distracted Bale when he was in a zone of sorts. This isn't someone being a dick to a waiter because his eggs are cold.

Clearly the guy is a little bit unbalanced but I kind of see where he is coming from here.

I think Bale went a little over the top but I can see where he is coming from. If some one came up to me and decide to delete an entire excel workbook that I had been formulating I would probably have the same reaction and essential this is what that guy did to Bale's work.

What's the problem?
Just another day in the life of some ego driven, self centered Hollywood trash that America idolizes?

What a prick. Yeah I get that he has a reason to be upset, but to go on and on about this is just really ridiculous and childish. You would think he just got interupted from coming up with a cure for cancer or something.

Didn't he get in trouble a few months ago for slapping around his mother or was it his wife?

In the Roman social heirarchy actors were near the same level as prostitutes and theives. I can see why.

It was his mother and sister.

We all know that it's every celebrities God-given right to hurl abuse at people who don't count. They're all horrible, horrible people.

I hate to defend the prick but I don't think he slapped anyone around. In the UK I believe just raising your voice to someone is considered assault.

And as we can hear he's pretty good at verbally asaulting someone.

Yes. He had a right to be upset. Being upset and angrily informing someone that they have just ruined your work is something we have all probably done (I know I have). That's a far cry from the verbal abuse Bale was laying on. He rants about professionalism, but then proceeds to disrupt the entire shoot. A simple "Hey a-hole, stay off the f'ing set" in the proper tone would have probably been more effective. But no, threatening to walk off the set, abusing a co-worker and continuing to do so even after everyone has acknowledged the problem, that's much more professional.

He should have just taken a couple bong hits and let it ride.

Well put.

I enjoyed when he screamed "You're a nice guy! You're a nice guy!"

Suddenly, his performance in American Psycho doesn't seem like so far a reach

Re: The Dark Side of the Dark Knight

Nice post Joe Redskin. He lives by a diffrent set of rules then us. I would be mad if someone screwed up my work as well but to carry on like that in my office would get me a quick trip to HR and then most likely the street.

If you really hate him don't go see the next Batman or any of his movies. That is the best and only way we can show him we don't like his behavior.

saden1 02-03-2009 12:49 PM

Re: The Dark Side of the Dark Knight

Bale definitely took it to a level it need not have gone to. Even McG was afraid to say anything to him. Reminds me of a recent story where a big time Broadway actress stopped acting in the middle of a play and demanded that an audience member taking photos with flash be escorted out.

Re: The Dark Side of the Dark Knight

I wonder if Christian Bale is on steroids. The only people I have ever seen act like that were.

Yeah he over reacted, but I am not going to stop watching the Batman series because of it. I might not watch the Terminator movie, but I will not boycott him altogether. I got 5 bucks that says he will publically apologize anyway.

Re: The Dark Side of the Dark Knight

What gets me more than Bale flipping out, is what kind of incredible P-words are the executives from the movie company that's paying Bale's salary??? When he feels free to act like this, it shows he has no respect for the folks stroking the checks.

It's not like they are making Batman 3 and he holds way more leverage. The suits should've come to the set and went off on him the way he went of the guy who walked on-set. They should've told him to settle the hell down or he'd be carrying his annoying UK-accent ass back across the f-ing pond, minus the multi-million dollar check for the f-ing movie.

They have to have some sort of language in his contract about him causing production delays or walking out of the movie.

A few more outburst like that and he will be blacklisted. There are consequence to losing people money or threatening to.

It sucks that Hollywood plays by a different set of HR rules... people aren't treated like humans, unless you've got some sort of pull. If you're a normal crew member, you're treated as easily replaceable (which is actually true).

If anyone has a chance to peep it, rent "Swimming with Sharks." Now that's some real producer abuse.

There's the million dollar (actually more literally) phrase. The DP is replaceable Cristian Bale is not. Both from a talent/star stand-point and practically. They can't stop shooting in the middle and start over with a new actor even if they wanted. What needs to happen is that Hollywood has to stop hiring actors who do this.

Sort of like Wall Street needs to stop hiring certain jackasses who want to steal everyone blind... not gonna happen in both cases.

Re: The Dark Side of the Dark Knight

Not the first time the guy in the background had done this. I like the fact that someone gets screamed at instead of people behaving like the world should protect ****-ups.

If Mr. Background can't stay off set then don't work in movies.

Nice one, Batman, like it!
