Redskins vs. Saints predictions

I know this won't be a popular pick, but until the Skins show me something I've gotta go with the Saints. They have too much offense and we simply don't have enough. I don't see a blowout though, something along the lines of 21-13.

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

I won't make a prediciton b/c then we will lose. My luck just sucks. I will say however, that this IS a winnable game. I think we can win it.

I will be at the game as well, and most of the games I go to, we win...weird.

I, like Matty, am officially in "Show me" mode. The Saints will win by less than 10.

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

Most of these guys are the same guys who bounced back 2x in the last 3 years to win out and go to the playoffs. They don't quit. I don't think the saints are as badass as people think and our guys won't look polished on O, but will get the job done @ home.

Skins win @ home 24 - 17

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

work in progress so this game will be a tough one but certainly one we could win if they play their cards right on all sides of the ball...
i,m thinking saints win this game but my heart tells me otherwise skins in a shootout 27-24 skins get a late tirnover and run it in for the win..

again it,s from the heart. wait and see.

wow,3 or 4 traitors so far :spank:::laughing2,if last week's predictions would have started like this the forum might have blown up!
even though the skins looked more pitiful than i thought possible last week,I'm going with them this week,24-21

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

I still think our red zone defense can absolutely shut down the opponent, so unless the Saints get big play type scores, I think the Skins can win, but they will have to score at least 2 touchdowns. Skins win 17- 15.

Call me what you want, but until the Skins show me otherwise I am going to pick against them every week. Hell, if the Skins win... I am still going to pick against them every week until they lose again (stupid-stition).

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

I'm going with the Redskins this week. I think the Saints are a beatable team with no running game to speak of, and I know we can handle their passing attack.

I'm not sure we'll be able to move the ball consistently on that D, but they might be weaker in coverage than the Giants, so if Campbell gets a chance, he'll find a lot of success down the middle of the field.

17-16 Redskins.

Slingin Sammy 33 09-10-2008 09:49 AM

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

Springs' return helps the secondary. Saints don't have the power running game of the Giants, allowing JT to take less of a pounding and get after Brees. Saints D not as good as Giants. Portis finds some running room. Ball control keeps Saints O off the field. More shotgun for JC =

Skins 27 - Saints 17

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

I believe that we'll show improvement, but I'm not sure how much. I can believe that Zorn play-calling, and the offense's execution will improve, and I think the D can definately keep us in there with Shawn Springs and Jason Taylor healthy.
I think this game goes into OT, what happens next you'll have to tune in...or ask JamaicanSkin
I won't make a prediction abou that, unless you call me now (10cents a minute for the first minute, $10 after that)

With the now known injury to Colston, I had to go Skins. To be honest, I wasn't so sure.

I have a good feeling. Springs is back. JT should be 100%. We are healthy... I say we win. Not by much, but we win.

I didn't pay attention to who was on the traitor list. My bad (does anyone say that anymore?). I'm still going with NO.

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

The Saints are a big play team and Blache's goal is to limit the big play. I think it's a good matchup for the the Skins (even though the Saints are a better team). I think Brees gets frustrated Portis makes enough plays (over 150 yds on the ground) for the games only TD's.
Skins 14
Saints 12

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

This is going to be another frustrating game (& season). The Saints will start out slow but take advantage of some mental mistakes by the Skins. I think it's going to be a low scoring affair:

Saints 13
Skins 6

HAIL!!

I agree. SKINS 20-13

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

The Redskin offense is still "under construction", so it's hard to predict them scoring a lot of points. The defense is going to have to set the tone for this game. I predict the defense will create a couple of turnovers which will enable the Skins to win a close contest 21 - 17.

TheMalcolmConnection 09-10-2008 11:48 AM

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

Springs being back is gonna' be huge. Landry also should feel a little more comfortable after being back in the mix.

I think the Skins take this one 24-13, except the defense scores once for us.

TheMalcolmConnection 09-10-2008 11:49 AM

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

I also think Malcolm Kelly makes ONE big play and we all jump on the bandwagon (as if we were ever off). :)

I think once he gets in the groove, he'll really contribute.

The offense will turn the corner this season, just not this week. Durant Brooks continues his Derrick Frost impersonation, and unless Rock breaks a big one the offense is in trouble.

Skins 3 - Saints 24

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

add springs back to the mix and i like our chances against the saints. i am looking to see CP get his. At this point in the season he is our best weapon on offense. If portis can have a decent day on the ground i think you will see this offense catch a little fire.

skins 17
saints 10

Malcolm Kelly will get hurt during the game and be out for the season.

DaveyFoSho 09-10-2008 01:05 PM

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

With Colston out, our DB's will have a little less to worry about. Brees is a superb QB who obviously can spread it around to anyone. Top 4 Targets being Bush, Shockey, Patten (Haha) and Henderson (Only because it is Brees, otherwise he would not warrant a second thought)

The key would be to have a man on bush coming out of the backfield at all times and zero in on Shockey's signature smash crossing routes, and I think the Skins take this one 24-17.

Monkeydad 09-10-2008 01:07 PM

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

The Saints D gave up a lot to a mediocre Bucs offense. This bodes well for us since we don't have all cylinders firing yet. Even if our offense doesn't play their best, they should still be able to put up points. Earnest Graham, Warrick Dunn and Jeff Garcia ran for 146 yards! Garcia also threw for 221 wit a TD.

I believe the extra practice time and Zorn's disappointment/realization of mistakes will keep him on their case and expect perfection. It will happen eventually and I'd be willing to bet sooner than later. Zorn seems like he'll really drive the players into shape.

Our defense played really well against the Giants, especially in the second half. We should be able to contain the Saints, especially without Colston and their only healthy RB being Reggie Bush, who isn't much as a RB. (as a WR...that's a different story) Thomas was hurt slightly in Week 1, McAllister is pretty much finished. They have a lot of WRs, but no one really that great other than Colston. Shockey can always lose you a game or win one for you.

I say Redskins 20, Saints 13

We should have had at least 4 picks last week. Will our DBs ever learn to hold on to the ball???

Sorry to get off topic but i'm going to the saints game this sunday but unfortunately my tickets didnt come with a parking pass. Me and my buddies want to tailgate so metro isn't an option. I was wondering if any of you guys know about the cash lots? Do they fill up quick, and how much is it to park there?

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

I say Skins 24 Saints 21. I think we come out and take this one. The Saints D isn't all that, and having 10 days rest in between games will help us. Plus it's the home opener so I think we'll come out fired up. I'd like to see a deep pass or two in this one, and I think Portis will go over 100yds with a TD. Brees still throws at least 2 TDs though, even with Colston out.

I look for Kelly and/or Thomas to contribute as well.

I spect our d is going to be fucking jacked up this weekend. That said the Saints will still put up 10 to 14 points on breakout plays and... I don't see us scoring more than 6 or 7 points a game early in the season.

I think I hate myself.

that's strange to me, because when I PICK a game, I pretend I have my house riding on it... its different than just which team I HOPE will win... I hope we never lose, but that's the reality.

To me picking the skins every week is like if someone were to award you or your family a billion dollars if you correctly guess your year of natural death... and you blurt out "never". I just dont have that mentality... im a realist.
