Devin Thomas Injured
Appears to be a hammy, per RI.

Re: Devin Thomas Injured
C'mon with the injuries already. Didn't we have enough last year?
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
The dreaded Hammy is back.
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
"here we go again", indeed... sigh
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
Damn! Why can't this team catch a break with the injuries??!!
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
Gotta look at this on the bright side, we're deep at wr & the decision to draft 2 wr's is already looking like a good move.
It's a shame for Thomas that it happened so early in camp, could really set him back in his chances for playing time. Maybe the cart was just a precaution & it isn't all that bad. Let's hope so. |
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
Damn we can't buy a break on the injury front....geez! Hopefully it will turn out to be minor.
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
This is really getting old, really fast.
Thank God we drafted Kelly too. |
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
Holy threads Batman... I've asked twice now on two threads about this and both threads were moved then put back but my question wasn't... Does anyone know this dude's number? I'm trying to place him in my mind from yesterday.

Pretty sure Devin Thomas is number 11. Redskins insider is saying it's just a hamsting pull. Let's pray that's all it is. |

Redskins insider is saying it's just a hamsting pull. Let's pray that's all it is.
He was probably trying to reach for a ball that was thrown to far and way over his head.... that happened a LOT yesterday.... Grrrr. |
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
Hammy's and cramps are common this time of the year. No biggie..
In other news, the other Devin (Hester) in our conference is holding out for more mulah. |
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
crap
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
Unfortunately he will be missing vital training camp time that he can't afford to miss if he is trying to crack the lineup this year.
A hamstring injury to a speed guy is like a shoulder injury for a QB. Hopefully he doesn't have a history of hammy problems...we need him to be a threat. |

So, JC still isn't looking too good out there, huh? |

Re: Devin Thomas Injured
This team needs to take out thier tampons and stop being girl men!
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
So Laron, Chris Wilson and Devin Thomas all have leg mussel pulls/strains.
Is Bubba Tyer and co. to blame for these injuries. What about last years, has nothing changed in their approach to conditioning. I just dont get it. |

Re: Devin Thomas Injured
Injuries are going to happen, and muscle pulls are common early on in camp. Why do people always need someone to blame?

This is an excellent point folks. Everybody be cool. (and pray for santana's hammies) |
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
God obviously hates us, so I blame him/her.
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
Im not blaming Bubba, and I resepct the fact that he's been with our team for so long. Im just asking is he to blame. If injuries wernt happening no one would be asking about injury prevention; being its obviously taken care of. Hamsting and muscle pulls seem to be a reoccuring theme with our team, more so then others.
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
I thought it was a little over the top when Malcom Kelly walked over to Devin Thomas on the stretcher and said "Now who's faster, biatch?!"
Seriously, I hope the injuries subside once everyone gets back into playing shape. Instead of blaming someone (ie Bubba) for the injuries, it's possible that everyone is just playing hard and putting forth a lot of effort. Not a bad thing, although we could do without the injuries. |

... a joke dude... a joke.. Haven't you ever heard that phrase before? |
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
I was wondering how long it would take.
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
People keep trying to tell me the training staff is not responsible for this sort of stuff.....but I insist it is a factor.

I totally feel ya. Just hoping the injuries are gonna just one day gonna go away doesnt seem to work that well. |

Yeah no doubt- I don't need someone to blame, but there's no question we have more friggin hamstring pulls than any other team. Unless it's a total fluke year after year (which I strongly doubt) or there's something in the water, this has to be, at least in part, a training issue. STRETCH and MASSAGE your damn hamstrings guys! |
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
According to the redskins blog (http://theredskinsblog.com/): "Devin Thomas just walked out to the practice field with a wrap around his hamstring. It’s supposed to be a couple of weeks. I like being wrong on this one."
I think he was just trying to get out of the two-a-days... (kidding) |

injuries like this (muscle/soft tissue), yeah, the staff is absolutely a factor. the strength and conditioning staff though, not bubba (like some in this thread have suggested). however, that does not mean someone is at fault in this specific instance. these things are to be expected at the start of training camp. if we have another season like last year though, where it seemed like everyone was suffering hammy and groin pulls/strains, then the staff needs to be held accountable. i made a thread on this very topic last year but i'm too lazy to dig it up. |

Re: Devin Thomas Injured
My fault I thought the trainer was the same person is charge of over seeing conditioning programs and what not. John Hastings is that person not Bubba.

Re: Devin Thomas Injured
How much does the heat factor in to this kind of stuff? SO HOT OUT HERE!
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
I guess with the repetitiveness of injuries, makes you wonder if the conditioning staff is missing something. I mean look at St. Louis and how f'ed up their season was mostly b/c of injuries.
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
dude can we stop it with the Campbell got a splinter or Cooley has I.B.S. threads.. Its football if your not sore or hurt you ain't playing
|
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
Our training & conditioning staff sucks....we've got more hamstring pulls and injuries than any other team in the NFL!
OR Maybe we're the only ones hitting the news because we started camp before everyone else. Most teams don't start up until tomorrow and it's HOT out there. Maybe the training staff would be kind enough to prescribe some Valiums for the "sky's falling crowd". |
Re: Devin Thomas Injured
As far as Devin Thomas is concerned it's not that big a deal. I mean I know a lot of people around here want him to be ready from day 1, but the reality is that Moss, ARE, and Thrash are probably going to be the top 3 WR's on opening night so to me it's not much of an issue so long as it doesn't end up being chronic.
If it happened next year then I'd be really worried, but the truth is that Kelly and Thomas are probably going to be brought along slowly and even more ironic is that of the three "pass catchers" Davis might see the most playing time, at least during the first half of the year. Also Mix and Kelly seem to be doing pretty good so it's not like we'll be without big bodies for Campbell to throw to. |

I see your point, but when you're top rookie is going to miss 2 weeks of camp, it's threadworthy. |
