Baltimore Cop vs kid
[YT]1hxOr3q7nrk[/YT] Elliot talked about this this morning. The cop has been suspended and thats probably the best thing. 'Dude' goes a bit overboard.
|
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
"a dude is someone who works in a ranch" damn he must of had a horrible day. If he wouldn't of said his name maybe he could of said it wasn't him lol
|
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
What a ****ing tool. Jesus, that DUDE needs to calm down. This is why cops get bad names, a tool like that guy. Took him forever to see the camera. Fire him, now.

Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
That doesn't compare to this story:

Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
Scary.
I love the end, though - "Is that camera on? If I find myself on..." |

Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
That's funny that it was taped what the hell is wrong with that cop?
|
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
I hope the parents sue the cop. he clearly has a grasp around the kid's neck and he does slam him. A cop should have patience regardless of how he is referred to. "Dude" and "man" should not warrant abuse.
|
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
Well at least they make him drive that retarded ass mr. magoo car. What a ****ing idiot. How low is your self-esteem that you treat a child like that? And yeah, people get killed all the time for saying "dude" and "man."
|
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
Power trip anyone?
This d-bag is just getting everyone back for his miserable childhood. Either that or he's got a 2 inch pecker. |
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
d bag...
|
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
I think the cop treated that kid like crap but, that being said to judge that child or this police officer becuasue of a short You Tube video would be a mistake. We don't know every thing that lead up to that situation. That cop might be a huge ASS or he was just having a really bad day. We don't know but I am sure he feels like crap now.

I know a lot of cops. I can say that of the many I know 90% of them woudl react similarly. There are seriosuly only a few that are reasonable people the rest are a bunch of power hungry pieces of sh*t. At no point in that entire situation did he act like a responsible law enforcment agent. The kid should have just asked him to leave him alone and left. |

Well, I've been arrested a bunch of times, and honestly, the cops have been great. With the exception of 1-2 douchebags (who the other cops made fun of with me) all of the cops were really cool I dealt with. One gave me a high five after I beat some charges outside the court house. |

I must know all the dick cops then. :) I am not a fan of cops if you can't tell. I simply don't understand why many find it so hard to treat peoplw with respect. I actually think they'd get better results that. All the yelling and power tripping I have seen just makes things worse. I can tell great stories of over zealous cops but I am betting a lot of us have similar stories. |
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
Does anyone know how long ago this happened? I hope it was on local news channels so the community could see how there police officers where acting. That Cop really needs to check himself. The kid didn’t do anything the pig was just being a complete dickhead!
|
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
I've had interactions with good cops and bad cops. They do get an unfair rep at times and the truth is whenever they cross the line it gets broadcasted all over the media and we don't get to see the other side often enough.
|
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
I think if he wasn't being such a hysterical douche, I wouldn't have found myself wanting to kick him in the nuts. Also assaulting that kid wasn't cool. The kids were just skate boaring it wasn't like they were shooting up in the middle of the harbor.
All I can thinking about is "what if they were Black kids". The night sticks would've been out! |

I agree. Most of the cops I've dealt with have been very professional. If you respect them you usually get the same in return. It's sad that there good work goes unreported 99% of the time. Where as if they mess up the public hears about it probably about 75% of the time. But that's just thanks to the way are media priorities the stories they air. I must say I usually support law enforcement but the guy on that video was a :oink:. |
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
Wow, the cop was being a complete dick...but wtf is wrong with these kids? The cop asked him not to ride the board and to sit down and the kid was talking smack. I would have put my "foot in his ass". No respect from kids these days.
I am not condoning the cops actions, but this is a MUCH bigger issue than the cop here! Skater boi needs his fuggin ass kicked! |

Kids don't listen at that age. It wasn't that long ago when I was 14 and as a 14 year old girl, I know how the boys were at that age. (Idiots). |
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
There are an awful lot of good cops who genuinely want to help people and do their jobs to the best of their abilities. But, I've also met enough cops who clearly abuse their position of authority, are less than ethical, and are frankly stupid. Those two videos show the latter type.

Is it so much to ask that police officers act in accordance with the law and not use their badges to intimidate? |

I'm gonna guess this must have happened over the weekend (it's rainy and shitty here now). I just happened to have the TV on MSNBC and they just aired the video. So I suppose as of today, it is public knowledge. |
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
Actually, I think the incident happened last summer but has just recently been aired for what ever reason.

See to me, I was brought up by my parents to not call a cop Dude or anything other than yes sir officer or yes sir. This type of respect for ANYONE, let alone a public servant is just not evident with the current generation of young ones. Look, I got in alot of trouble as a kid but I paid the price and got my ass kicked by my parents. By the time I was 13-14, I learned respect, especially when confronted by any type of authority. Again I should point out that the cop was an ass and I do not condone his behavior at all. However, the kid should have sat on the curb when asked to do so even if he didn't think he did anything wrong and none of this would have happened. As the case in many YOUTUBE vids like this one, there is probably another side of the story we are not seeing. Probably one that could be speculated is there is a no skate sign down on the Harbor? Maybe he had run into these kids previous? |

But still nowadays, that whole sir and ma'am thing isn't stressed anymore. I never call anyone sir and ma'am and I'm 21 and would feel weird doing so. Hell at my high school we called teachers by their first names. I think parents stress that kids should listen to their elders and people in authority but boys will be boys. I can't say I ever knew a 14 year old boy that liked taking orders from someone else other than their parents and they'd bitch about that too. The times they are a'changin. |

I would argue that the statement that 75% of the "bad" stuff they do we find out about is totally inaccurate. I could share 5 stories right now of things similar to the above that went on and no one ever heard about them. One of which a judge ended up admonishing a pair officers for their behavior and they were eventually fired. But it was never a media story at all. Cops I have dealt with in both social and police situations have had a sense of superiority in almost every case. It allows them to deal with thugs and low lifes but most can't just turn it off when joe blow speeder doesn't kiss their ass. Or in this case a 14 year old kid acts like a 14 year old kid. There could have been some inaudible stuff the kid said but based on the reactions of the cop he got mad simply becasue he called him "dude". You gotta be kidding. I do know a couple cops who are awesome people but they are the exception by far. |

Officer Suspended After Appearing In YouTube Video Richard Sher BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― A 17-year veteran of the Baltimore police force has been suspended with pay pending an internal investigation of his actions involving a 14-year-old skateboarder at Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Richard Sher reports video of the confrontation in question appears on YouTube.com. It happened mid-summer when City Police Officer Salvatore Rivieri asked 14-year-old Eric Bush and his friends to stop skateboarding at the Inner Harbor. Skateboarding is illegal there. Bush's friend was videotaping the exchange, which at one point shows the officer grabbing Bush's skateboard and throwing him to the ground. "He was just like up in my face, yelling at me...then he tackled me," Eric said. "It was like scary because I have diabetes and my blood sugar went crazy 'cause he scared me." "I started watching the video and couldn't continue. I flipped out," said Peggy Miller, Eric's mother. "I saw the tape. The officer handled the situation so poorly. It is very clear this is unacceptable," said Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon. Officer Rivieri, a 17-year veteran of the BCPD, has been suspended with pay while the department conducts an internal investigation. "The police commissioner, the mayor and the top command staff saw the video and are disappointed," said Sterling Clifford, spokesperson for the Baltimore City Police Department. The attorney whose law firm represents Rivieri is defending the officer's actions. "Police officers have a hard job. in this particular video, you dont see what happened before the officer took the boy down to the ground," Henry Belsky said. "Until you see the totality of what happened, one really does not know what reappy happened down there." Many viewers have emailed Eyewitness News supporting the officer suggesting that what occurred before the confrontation was not shown on the tape. Heres the story from a local Baltimore station. |

What the hell is a scrawny kid like that gonna do? I have no problem with him yelling at the kids (granted, I thought it was a bit harsh) but as soon as he put his hands on him, I was done. |
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
Now how in the world can that be taken out of context? We saw the officer walk up to the kids and there is nothing whatsoever that indicates that the kids did anything wrong other than skateboard. I'm also curious as to why the cop wasn't charged with assault.
I can predict what will happen. The cop is going to enjoy his nice paid vacation, he will get a written warning, and that will be the end of it. Hopefully he chokes on a twinkie. |
Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
The guy mentioned nothing about a priot situation other than the"I told you not too skate here" He made it VERY clear he was upset with the kid's behavior IN THE VIDEO.

Re: Baltimore Cop vs kid
Ive had many run ins myself with the law and cops are people. Some are good and some are bad. However, if someone is given the authority and power they're given it should be monitored and when things like this happen, he should have his authority stripped. I'd give him a parking maid job on double secret probation.
