Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
Dude was a wrecking ball out there today, how about that long pass he caught where he just LEVELED the DB??!!
That's Redskins football! |
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
Itching to see the highlights of this game!
|
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
i tivo'd it and already re-watched it... sellers was outstanding. his reception was the best hit of the game and better make the Jacked Up list (which by the way I haven't even seen this year... they still doin that?)
good job big man!!! |
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
Mike is my man! I have been itching for him to get more touches. Glad to see that he is one of the guys who doesn't just talk about what he can do, he actually DOES something when his number is called. Good game Skins! That was so nice to see, and it also reminded me of what this team used to do during Gibbsver.1 back in the day.

Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
He was amazing today. Running over Kennedy is my favorite highlight of the young season. He was all over the place today, 2 tds and some great runs. I love you, Mike Sellers.
|
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
I've long been critical of the team for not going out in the draft and getting someone like a Matt Speath, a TE who can block, and at least someone will respect in the passing game. But Mike Sellers is definately at least filling this hole from the fullback position.
Can you imagine how easy Portis would have it if we had a blocking TE AND Sellers on the field at the same time. 8 in the box? No problem. |
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
BIG MIKE!!!! He's the man. He's just looking for someone to kill when he has the ball. Kinda Riggins like (if I may be so bold) when he dragged folks in for the running score. And great hands on the receptions.

Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
Next they gotta start handing the ball off to Pucillo :)
|
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
BIG MIKE gets HUGE PROPS, he played HUGE BALL! What a catch then HE layed the wood on the defender! AWESOME!
Today was REDSKIN football the way I LOVE it, AND remember it as a youngster, SMASH MOUTH! |
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
He ought to get a pro bowl od at some point. He is underrated in this league I think.

Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
they should've called tripping there. they missed a few today, but it wasn't too bad...
|
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
did anybody know that sellers played RB in the CFL? Here is a clip of the Wreckin' Ball in action...

Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
What a hit--watching the lion's safety just flipping around like a rag doll. Man. It's like on the sports bloopers where some fool gets hit by a rodeo bull. Ouch.

That's Redskins football![/quote] I like the way Al Saunders was like, "Mike's been lobbying for the football and we're lobbying for Mike." That's so DC and Sellers is so money. We should use him in 2 TE sets and maybe let him play a few snaps at DE if Daniels can't go next week. |
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
I love how Mike got in on this game. We need to use him like this more often. When he hit ran over Kennoy Kennedy the entire stadium went insane it was great.
|
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
Mike Sellars is the face of the Washington Redskins. Was here then Cleveland then smoked weed went to Canada and came back. And he's a friggin beast. I think I'm getting his jersey! GO BIG MIKE!
|
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
The BEAST !!! Wish we had another M. Sellars , I honestly hope we give him the ball 8-10 times per game . The team gets big-time fired up when he plows over and through the " kids " trying to bring him down !! Our o-line and all the guys on D played awesome !!!

Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
Show him some respect, and spell his name right. Sellers

LOL people still find ways to mess up Darrell Green so I'm not surprised when people botch current players' names. Quick hint to those who messed up 'dog' in their first spelling bees... GOOGLE! |
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
YEAH, I think kennedy must have thought it was portis or another back catching out of the backfield. He left his feet thinking he was gonna deliver a huge hit......next thing he knew he was on his back wondering how he ended up there.....then the crowd reminded him that he was hit buy an AMTRACK train (sellers)
|
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
I think it's about time I got me a Sellers jersey. The dude is all Redskin. What a beast!
|
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
Sellers is the most underrated player on the team. Twice on sweeps yesterday, he blocked a Lions defender so hard that he ended up taking out 2 players. How cool is it when Portis just grabs Sellers' jersey and goes for a ride? I want to see Sellers get at least 5 touches a game from here on out.

I'm actually always shocked that they don't call the penalty when he does that. |
Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
I like how Joe Gibbs says that he can see the type of football players Sellers and Portis are gameday by their eyes. They want to get dirty and hit something. That's what im talking about.
And when a reporter asked BIG Mike about the hit, "oh, did i light him up?" |

Re: Give it up for BIG Mike Sellers
I don't want to be a Debbie Downer here, but despite the massive trucking Kennedy received, he still had the presence of mind to hang on and make the tackle, albeit from his back...

I gotta tell ya, I've been thinking the same thing since I saw the play. Nice hit, no doubt but I much prefer Sean Taylor's. |

Taylor's hit was FAR more crushing. The two hits are just so different. Kennedy had his eye on the target, went in for the tackle, and just got punished, but he DID make the tackle. Taylor's hit was harder, but the guy didn't even see it coming. It's a lot easier to wreck someone when they have no idea it's coming. Whatever, they're both fun to watch. |

True that, but I thought that would be a tripping penalty.?.? Big Mike does not avoid contact, he looks for it. I really feel that Big Mike is a huge play maker, and gets the team hyped-up when he touches the ball. Good things happen when he touches the ball. Hopefully Portis can start to turn it up a notch now. When that happens this team will open up Pandora's Box. |

I think it's only tripping when you use your feet to make a tacke/block. He just keep Sellers' legs wrapped up. But yeah, that Caveman is something special. Quick feet, soft hands, mean streak, can catch, run, block, he's a leader, scores TD's, and oh yeah, he's 285 lbs. Love the guy. True Redskin right there. |

Also, it was kind of pitiful to watch afterwards as guy was laying on the turf struggling, and spitting-up whatever. Wow. It appears that this team is playing with a little attitude, and that is a good thing. |

If you watch the play closely you can see him literally lock both his legs around on of sellers'. |

We dominated them physically in every aspect. That's always been a Gibbs/Williams/Bugel focal point. And it seems like we have the size, strength, and are developing attitude to push some teams around. Guys start to wither when they're punched in mouth play after play. If we can out-physical teams we're in great shape. |

Yeah I thought Kenoy was a big hitter. He got the tar knocked out of him and tackled like a girl. Sellers flexed to show how much he cared about the dirty tackle. He's going to run over Al Harris this week. |
