Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Jordan Palmer huh...there's your answer to all the Brunell trade theories.
Probably a good move. No real surprises on that list, maybe Wynn. |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
yea marcus mason is a stud.
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
For anybody who is to lazy to go to the link here are the players:
OL Calvin Armstrong DT Matthias Askew FB Fred Beasley FB Brian Bell WR Carl Berman WR Corey Bradford RB Dee Brown DE Alex Buzbee CB John Eubanks DE Justin Hickman WR Ryan Hoag CB Ade Jimoh OL Kili Lefotu TE Jake Nordin QB Jordan Palmer LB Matt Sinclair S Omar Stoutmire WR Burl Toler LB Anthony Trucks CB Byron Westbrook OL Taylor Whitley DE Renaldo Wynn LB Dallas Sartz waived due to an injured hamstring |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
I wanted to see Anthony Trucks make the 53 man roster, but I think he'll go onto the practice squad.
Out of that list, my choices for practice squad are: Byron Westbrook Jordan Palmer Kili Lefotu Alex Buzbee Anthony Trucks Justin Hickman Dallas Sartz And another scrub from some other team's roster cuts. Oh yeah and good job for Marcus Mason making the cut. I'm glad to see him earn a roster spot. |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
when do they say who makes the practice squad ?

Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
I think if that is THE list they did a fine job! WELL DONE.
Hate it for wynn hes a class act, but there comes a time for all players in the NFL, when the game passes you by. Tough business. |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
So some yung guys made the team and they cut the guys they needed to.
Whats the situation with Dallas Sartz. He got released? Or IR? Hate to see a good guy like Renaldo go, but you have to be able to play at an NFL level. |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
I am surprised Omar Stoutmire got cut, and Ryan Boschetti made the team.
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Who are suprise players to MAKE the team.
I know Mason made it...who else did....Reed doughty?....I didnt expect him to make it....who else made it that was a suprise? |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Ryan Boschetti? David Macklin? uhhh Stephon Heyer? lol I guess Heyer isn't really that much of a suprise, he's been starting this entire preseason.
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
I'm not so sure cutting so much veteran leadership and in particular, players with "feel good" stories is such a good idea right before the season begins
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Its very sad to see Renaldo go...although I dont completely disagree with it...He was a class act and I hope he catches on somewhere and had a great deal of success....
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Ade Nooooooooooo!!!!!!
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Hey guys any surprise? we had a few specially Aaron Glenn being tha the was the #3 CB and Newman it's hurt they also cut 2 other CB with experience Butler and Thomas for 2 7th round rookies
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
I guess you could say Wynn was a suprise, because he was a leader in the locker room and he's been one of the longest tenured players on the team, but his play was declining lately so it isn't that suprising. Lorenzo Alexander making the team as well as Marcus Mason, Chris Wilson, and Leigh Torrence are all suprises though.
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Eubanks is a better corner than Torrence.
|

Gotta love your sarcasm Mooby. Looking for peoples opinions, dude |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
I have watched Torrence and he has been fantastic a both corner and special teams. I cant believe Fabini made along with Boschetti. They looked horrible all preseason. I think we will still cut Fabini and pick up a decent guard. Baltimore cut Chris pino Brian Rimph, and Ndduke Ickucke. Maybe we will pick one of them up. If not, I am sure there is better than Fabini.

Looking for peoples opinions, dude
Well Ryan Boschetti is kinda a suprise lol. I didn't expect him to make the roster. I was expecting Marcus Mason to make the roster though after the way he played. Lorenzo Alexander and Chris Wilson are suprises too, but I forgot about them lol. |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
I kinda liked Hoag. He had pretty good hands in the pre-season.
I hope they practice squad him. |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Wynn's "veteran leadership" didn't do much for us last year. He was long overdue to be shown the door. Just like with Joe Salave'a, after last year's horrid performances, nobody on the D-line other than Griffin deserved an automatic roster spot. The only puzzling thing is, they're getting rid of the bums who needed to be booted out, but didn't really do much to bring new guys in to replace them.
So let's see ... that's three draft picks (Sartz, Palmer, and Ecker) who didn't even make the team. Wonderful. Boschetti is one of those guys who rarely stands out, yet makes on the roster season after season. |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Hoag has been in the league a few years, can he be on the practice squad
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
I figure Jordan Palmer, Westbrook, and hopefully Buzbee will be practice squad guys, among others. So by cutting Beasley does that mean we are only going to carry one FB on the roster?
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Ade! Oh NO!!!!
:( :( :( |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Only two I can dispute are Jimoh, our special teams ace, and Trucks. I've loved Trucks thus far.
|

So are we only going to carry 4 CB's this year?? By my count that's Springs, Rogers, Smoot, Macklin. Is that all or am I missing somebody? |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
your missing Leigh Torrence.
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
your missing Leigh Torrence.
Ahhhhh. I gotta admit I don't know much about him. |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Omar Stoutmire and Dallas Sartz. I wasn't really surprised with the other cuts but these two seemed odd to me. I thought Omar was a pretty decent SS and could play CB and FS if needed. And of course Sartz because he was a decent pick from USC. I guess he was too hurt to play?
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
your missing Leigh Torrence.
Is that how he spells it? Someone should have told Mrs. Torrance that "Leigh" is the feminine spelling of "Lee". The Redskins have updated their website. The 52 man roster is here: Washington Redskins To me it's more interesting to see who made the team. The Great Fabini squeaked thru. Also Vernon Fox and TE Eric Edwards. |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
Wynn has not done a damn thing the last two years except be a great locker room guy. Hell, I'll be the best damn locker room guy in the world if you pay me a million a year. But I can't rush the passer and neither can Wynn. Sad to see him go but this move is long over due.
|
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
doughty AND fox over omar is surprising.
wynn was getting 4mill to be a backup i believe. rest seems in line. trucks et al will be on the practice squad, so not too much to worry about there. |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
there's a picture of Jimoh on Redskins.com looking all dejected...I feel bad for the guy, but he was the worst cornerback I've ever seen
|

I feel bad for him too. But I guess when all you can do is play teams eventually that will catch up with you and someone else will come along who can do more things. As far as coverage skills go, Jimoh could not cover his own shadow. |
Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC
yeah, I am guilty of some Jimoh bashing over the years, but I guess what makes me feel for the guy is that I have a hard time seeing him catching on anywhere else.
|

So basically this is the end of road for Jimoh? No one will want him? I mean there's gotta be some team that has a piss poor special team that maybe could use him? |
So basically this is the end of road for Jimoh? No one will want him?
I mean there's gotta be some team that has a piss poor special team that maybe could use him?
well, what I mean is that there's enough game tape of the guy that no team is going watch it and have any hope of turning him into anything resembling a cornerback...so why bother, I feel like most special teamers are either young rookies with promise, or veterans who can fill another need on the team |
