F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
Of course I've noticed it in the past, but it just seems like more and more recently, I'll go up to the checkout line in the grocery store or the drive-through at a fast food place and the assholes working there act like they want to kill themselves.
I've had my share of crappy jobs, but regardless you're still getting paid which is something more than a lot of people can say and you can at least FEIGN being civil. I'm not asking you to put on a smile showing off 1,712 of your teeth, but at least don't act like I'm putting you out by asking you to do your fucking job. |
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
on the other hand, there is this girl at the taco bell near me. She works at the drive through and she has this big smile on her face and she leans out the window to talk to you. It is hard to explain but i'll be going to that taco bell again :D

I was sitting at a light in DC, with my window down.. and one of those guys on the bikes that courier around the city was zipping by and I guess he saw that my window was down so he decided to ride by my car and say "You stupid, stuck up bi+ch" ... I was just sitting there minding my own buisiness.. Nice.

Agreed 100%. I can't stand people in customer service positions that have shitty attitudes. In fact, shitty attitudes are so common in those types of jobs(at least in my area), that when I actually come across the rare person that appears happy and takes pride in their job, I have to tell somebody, like I just saw bigfoot or something. |
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
It is my new goal in life to make sure they pay for that. I called two separate businesses today to report to the managers the names of the employees working at that time. Seriously, I try to ALWAYS be civil and even friendly so all I ask is for some respect back.

Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
the truth is, those people take a lot more shit than they put out. I mean there are customers that are complete dicks. And just as a customer would say, i'm just trying to get what i want, the employees would say, i'm just trying to do my job. Both customers and workers get a lot of shit and most of them don't deserve it.
For example: Fire In The Hole Tribute - YourDailyMedia.com I don't find that funny at all. These people are just trying to do their jobs. Obviously this doesn't happen often at all but the employees put up with a lot of shit that they don't need. And some people say that it is just part of the job but the truth is, it isn't. They don't need to be badgered by idiots and it is definitely not their job to do it. luckily i haven't had to work behind a counter permanently, but i have spent weeks working at 7-11s and have also worked concession stands at university of maryland lacrosse games for an organization. Some people are annoying as f... THe cool thing about the concession stands was that I was with 15-20 people that i knew. If i was with people i didn't really like, it would be worse. I had to listen to so much shit because we didn't serve coffee. I mean, its not like i come up with the menu. Right now i work 40 hours a week but its a nice cushy office job and i make 440 a week. I would hate to work those jobs, like many of my friends, and make 7 bucks an hour. I can see why they are upset so i say, cut them a little bit of a break even though customers don't deserve to be treated that way. |
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
I used to work in a movie theater in all aspects of it for at least eight years while going through high school and college and I definitely had a majority share of annoying people coming through the doors.
I also found that is was my place to basically respond with whatever I get treated with. Even if I was having a crappy day, as long as someone was nice to me, I had a hard time not being nice back. Just as firstdown said, these are the same people bitching because they're stuck in this job the rest of their lives. Just as I complained about bad customer service, I'm also calling to report exceptional service as well. If anything ever stands out in my mind, it's someone working a crappy job who goes above and beyond for me. |
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
Nothing is worse than a pissed off stripper.
They are nice when asking for a dance but when it's time to start grinding, they have to mention how much they hate life. |
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
Yeah, it's always about how they are "working through school". What? You mean supporting your drug habits?
|
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
Those people put up with a lot of shit man. Unbelievable shit. I've seen people being dickish to people who are new and are clearly are in the training process. I have seen people bitch about someone not speaking "proper" English. If someone is having a bad day, they are having a bad day. You bitching is only going to compound the problem.
The stupidest guy I have ever witnessed was at GMU Fin Aid office. This idiot thought it might be a good idea to trash the front desk people who don't have control over the Fin process. For about 5 min he was saying f'this, f'that, f'you, I don't think he skipped one curse word in the English language. Guess what ended up happening? Everyone put on their mean mug face and everyone who came through that day didn't get the worm reception they deserved. It was all business and no smiles for the day. I don't condone it, but I understand. If someone is having a bad day or isn't providing quality service to you simply talk to them. Say something funny, make them smile. Don't put on a mean mug of your own. Say something nice. I always find people more personable if you tell them how bad of a day you had, even if you didn't have one. Just be more, you know, personable and relate to them. |

hess. next time you see him coming open your door, wipe his ass out....then say " You Stupid, No ridin Bitch, hope you have insurance to fix my car you just ran into...asshole" now get your ass up of the scolding hot concrete.....BITCH! |
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
When you work in government or law enforcement, people just expect you to be an asshole. I usually give people more information than they actually need when they come to the jail. When I do that, they look at me like I'm an alien. I can't count the number of times people have said, "you're the first person to actually take the time to explain to me what's going on."
Issuing gun permits is another story. I get so many idiots applying for permits and most of them can't follow simple instructions. What is it about "you can't be a convicted felon or you can't have a domestic violence conviction" that people don't understand? Only to have them say, "durrrr... but that was ten years ago. I thought it come off my record." No it doesn't, you redneck dumbass. It never comes off. You just thought I wouldn't find your conviction and you wasted my time running your record. I seriously want to reach through the glass and smack them upside the head. |
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
I do real estate research at the courthouses in my area and every courthouse has a big sign on the way in that says what you can't bring in like mace, knives, cameras, etc. Why the F can't people understand that you can't bring your CAMERAphone into the courthouse and then have the balls to argue with the deputies about it and hold everyone else up who can read the Fing sign. I'm done.

I know what you mean. We have actually had people come in the jail with video cameras and proceeded to walk around and record the layout of the visitation area. What?!!! One chick got really pissed off when we explained to her that you weren't allowed to videotape a SECURED AREA without permission. She said we were approaching her in a "threatening manner", but she wouldn't explain to us why she was videotaping. We found out later she was the sister of a fugitive we were holding who was classified as an escape risk. A few weeks later another lady came in and claimed she was shooting a documentary. |
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
Yeah, a lot of people in those positions are in a transition period of their life. Few people will make a career out of working at McDonalds. I've seen people be complete and utter assholes to people. I saw someone toss a milkshake on a guy who didn't even make or give him his milkshake. He was just pissed that he had the wrong flavor and threw it at the guy.
Anything with customer service is hard. Seeing as how I'm sarcastic and don't deal with assholes or bumbling idiots well I typically stay out of that field. However, everyone has bad days. And TMC, I believe I've heard you say "It's Friday, why does everyone keep bothering me god damnit" when someone just wants you to do your damn job with a smile =p |
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
When I used to work at McDonalds there was this guy that was just as fat as me treated this customer like crap. Well he came back on my shift and threw tomatos and ketchup on me. I was like "What the fuck man!!!!!!!!!" Then he realizes it was not me so he tried to apologize and I am like "fuck off" So I quit that crap.
And punched the guy who worked with me. |
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
I used to work in the desert, it was hot as hell. All I was trying to do was maintain peace and all of these bastards kept shooting at me, and were trying to blow me up with IED's. I was just doing my damn job! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
|
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
The moral of the story is don't eat or work at McDonald's.:D

Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
I worked at the Wendy's in Burke (VA) as a teen for couple of months...after working there I never ate there again. I would recommend that you not eat there.

That's a sinking ship. I wouldn't touch it with free money. |

Saden.... that's discerning. We used to get our drunken snacks there when I was living in Burke.

Yes, this is true. I'm not saying they should always be smiling and high-fiving me, but it doesn't hurt to even be CIVIL. Those days where I get mad people are bothering me on a Friday, I DO still go out and do my job and never let them know I'm having a bad day. |
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
i don't know if its society, or what. it seems like alot more people have crappy attitudes, then say about 20 years ago. then again, in todays world, the more you bitch, the more you get. its really a sucky way to do business
|
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
I don't know. I'm really trying hard to reward the people who give me excellent customer service. Like I feel a lot of people have no problem calling a manager when something goes wrong, but nowhere near as many people will call to congratulate someone on a job well-done.
|
Re: F...People Who Work in a Crappy Job and Take it out on Me
i do. if I'm out eating, or buying something, and the sales person does a good job, i always talk to the manager/ boss, and let them know. and i always let my tip reflect on the service
