What are the odds the Colts miss theplayoffs in '08? They've got to be on the rise.

Unusually small contract and seemingly little interest on the market. There's got to be something with his injury that's scaring teams.

Agreed. That's a small deal!

Yep. I was thinking the same thing warriorz. It makes me think we could have signed him.

Re: Vikings Sign Doss

I don't think doss was ever in the real picture. We had tunnel vision on BLY.
Why would we want a low end, injury problem player to begin with?

I know right, cuz we've had so much success with those high end injury free players here in DC...

Low end? Because our SS's are so great?

Doss is not a bad player, he played a big role in the 2002 undefeated OSU National Championship team . He is the one that broke Willis McGahee's leg with that big yet clean hit in the title game.
Later that year the Redskins passed on Doss to draft WR Taylor Jacobs, an even lower end, bottom feeding, more injury prone player. Doss at least started and played for the Colts. Jacobs is flipping burgers.

Well of course I'm hoping Smoot will have a good year. And Springs a good and healthy year.

And Carlos needs to make progress over last season. Also, I understand that I'm comparing SS to CB. That has nothing to do with the point on BLY.

If he's so good why did he sign a one year, 1 mill deal? He's Not.

Safety on defending Super Bowl champions was rumored to be possibly going to the Eagles (a division opponent), signs relatively cheap deal with Minnesota. Thought it was kinda newsworthy. But I guess you disagree. Uh huh?

Doss was a good and up-and-coming safety, before he injured his knee. He and Bob Sanders (weren't they on the field together?) formed one of the best safety tandems in the league.

I'm not convinced he's done. He signed a small deal because of injury concerns.

Exactly.
100% correct.

I wouldn't have minded signing him for that.

That knee must still be iffy. 1 year for one million is nothing. Danny throws that around just to cut down a few trees...

ive been wondering why there was no news on this guy at all . . man i would have loved to sign him for that, we were all set to draft him but got a player cerrato/spurier/snyder where real high on with jacobs . . . rookie year he had over 100 tackles (i think), injuried last year and i guess the colts decided to go a different route, i think he would have been a great cheap nothing-to-lose pickup

If both are healthy: Doss
