interesting

Re: Zack Piller ...
I think it'd be a great move.

Re: Zack Piller ...
He visited yesterday and left without a contract? Usually means no dice.
|
Re: Zack Piller ...
its sounds like he's hurt an awful lot
|
Re: Zack Piller ...
Big guy; hurt a lot; considered "surplus" in Tennessee; hasn't been a hot commodity in free agency.
That kind of summarizes what the state of play is regarding ZP. If he's healthy, he's probably better than any of the other "aspirants" to the LG position on the roster at the moment. But he's missed a ton of games in the past 3 seasons and he'd be of zero help if he's hurt. I always worry about VERY LARGE players who develop leg injuries. They seem not to heal nearly as quickly nor as often as smaller players with leg injuries. My hypothesis is that being as heavy as they are, it is difficult for them to give the injury any real rest in the early stages of rehab because of the stress and strain they put on it by walking/standing. But I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV and I haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in years. Because I don't believe there are any outstanding candidates to start at LG on the roster at the moment, it would behoove the team to "upgrade" there. ZP is a small upgrade; if the FO thinks they cannot do better, they ought to sign him. If they think they can do better - and that's not REALLY all that difficult - then they should take a pass here. |

Re: Zack Piller ...
I was really surprised we didn't take a look at Mulitalo. If Detroit lands this guy, I think he will be a big help.
|
Re: Zack Piller ...
Wade is our LG and we'll pick up depth with the picks we get when we trade down. Maybe one depth signing similar to a ZP. I really think that's the way they want to go.

Re: Zack Piller ...
Done deal. Mulitalo to Detroit

Re: Zack Piller ...
so the lions got both of the guards we were after, strange
|

Piller gone to Detroit too

Re: Zack Piller ...
that's fine w/me. I am weary of signing a vet. to just fill in at LG. Wade is a different story, he was here last year & is hungry to show that he's still a good starter in the nfl. Even w/Wade re-signed, I would rather see a rookie win the job & keep Wade at the ready to fill in at OT, cause it would be almost unbelievable if Samuels & Jansen don't miss any games this year.

Re: Zack Piller ...
Who do we plan on drafting?
|
Re: Zack Piller ...
no mulitalo either hes a lion also.
|
Re: Zack Piller ...
The AP reported that Zach Piller has signed with the Lions. I guess we will get a starting Guard or back up lineman in the draft!

Re: Zack Piller ...
• Free-agent G Zach Piller remains on the Redskins' radar after visiting March 22, but team sources indicate they are intrigued with the idea of using 6-foot-8 Todd Wade, a converted tackle, at Derrick Dockery's vacated LG spot.
