Willing to trade down, yes, having a potential offeror, only possible. Do not count any chickens quite yet! We cannot propose a trade down to another team, the offer has to come from them. That's the way draft day trades work.

Anyone remember when Vinny was hiding out in the Dulles Marriot for months and months, waiting for Snyder to take control of the team? What a tool. If it wasn't for Snyder what would this guy be doing?

if you search "Vinny Cerrato" in google the first result is a artical of vinny defending his job

"They say, 'Look at him, he's a lapdog to Dan.' I do have a role. I do have a job to do." - Vinny Cerrato

Haha, for some reason Vinnie always reminded me of Wormtounge from Lord of the Rings, with Snyder being Sauraman.

I heard the Falcons are high on LaRon Landry. If rumors started floating that we were targeting Landry as well, Atlanta may come off one of their second round picks to swap first round picks with us. That would put us in the 8th spot, where we could still get one of the elite D-lineman in the draft....

Good point. But the smoke won't cover the fact that Vinny is a gigantic moronic turd. I just hope we don't screw up a great opportunity with this 6th pick, regardless of trading down or staying put.

Trading down isn't always so hot, remember when we traded down before? Wasted 3 picks on RB's that had no shot at making any impact at all since we had Portis, Betts, and Rock. We need an impact player on the D line really bad. All we have now are a bunch of injury prone rejects from other teams.. Only the first three rounds mean anything with regards to guys that actually can make it in the league. We need impact players, not a bunch of 5,6,, and 7 round picks that will end up cut or on the practice squad!!!!!!

Well, Tom Brady, Terrell Davis, Shannon Sharpe, and Marques Coltson would probably disagree with you, as would many others. But I see your point. I can't remember the last time we had a late round pick blossom.

no kidding, the hard part is finding the diamonds in the rough, but I personally like new talent coming on the team then overpriced has beens. They make excellent backups and special teamers.

Well even though he appears destined for nothing more than a spot on special teams and the 3rd or 4th running back, there was Rock Cartwright, and people seem to be enamored Kedric Golston. But consider this: Monte Coleman and Raliegh McKenzie were both 11th round draft picks. Joe Jacoby was an undrafted free agent.

As Archie and Edith used to say ... Those were the days.

Yeah but we only have 7 rounds these days. So it's kind of tough to make the comparison. And there are more teams now

Re: Vinny states team is willing to TRADE DOWN in draft.

So let me get this straight...

We are willing to -
trade up, trade down, let go of Lloyd, keep LLoyd, release Arch, trade Arch for Picks (yeah right... like he is worth anything), swap picks for Bly, swap picks for Briggs, keep our pick, bring back the loveboat, trade Betts for Vilma, trade Portis for picks, trade Portis for another player, trade for Leftwich.............................................

I hope this clears up the picture a little for everyone.

Just as I expected! Thanks for clearing up all these "rumors".

Wonder who were gonna sign tomorrow?

In other breaking news, Vinnie asserted that the sun came up in the East this morning and that he does NOT know who let the dogs out...

Now if I remember correctly, the draft went from 12 rounds to 7 once the new era of free agency dawned with Reggie White's departure from the Eagles to the Packers. So all the players that would have been drafted from rounds 8-12 instead became what we know today as undrafted free agents.

Were the roster numbers the same with 28 teams as they are now -- set at 53?

The comparison was only made to show how we were able to find some real gems long after the hype of the first couple of rounds were over.
