USA Today - Match-up

NFL previews: Week 10 - USATODAY.com

WASHINGTON REDSKINS (3-5) at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (4-4)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox
• Surface: Grass. Sheridan's line: Eagles by 7.
• Keys to the game: Eagles QB Donovan McNabb has a 41.3 first-half passer rating in the team's past three games, but he's also been the victim of dropped passes. Philadelphia has come under fire for being too pass-happy, but the temptation will be there again with McNabb working against a secondary that has allowed a league-high 35 completions of 20 yards or longer. But RB Brian Westbrook (sore knee) could get more than the 19.5 touches he has averaged in seven games. Washington desperately needs to attack Philadelphia's undersized run defense, but if WR Santana Moss doesn't play, the Eagles can load up vs. RB Clinton Portis.

• Fast facts: Redskins: QB Mark Brunell is 4-0 in his career vs. Philadelphia. Eagles: McNabb is 8-4 vs. Washington.

• TV announcers: Dick Stockton, Daryl Johnston, TonySiragusa.

• Injuries:

Redskins: Questionable: TE Christian Fauria (ankle), WR Santana Moss (hamstring). Probable: WR David Patten (hamstring), TE Chris Cooley (shoulder), T Jon Jansen (calf), CB Carlos Rogers (thumb).

Eagles: Probable: DT Mike Patterson (hand), CB Lito Sheppard (hand), RB Brian Westbrook (ankle).

I don't see the dropped passes getting any easier for McNabb in this game. Secondary picks up their game, McNabb's passer rating goes down.

Redskins win!

Eagles by 7?! HA. If they win, it won't be by much.

RedskinRat 11-10-2006 11:42 AM

Re: USA Today - Match-up

Yeah. I didn't get where they were finding 7.

McNabb has no 'Go-To' WR, our secondary will be without AA effing up the program. Looks like Westbrook may be out or at best gimpy.

Redskins win (if Matty allows The Sheriff a temp Avatar).

McNabb makes shitty receivers look good.

Re: USA Today - Match-up

Apparently all Eagles fans are thinking that Stollworth is going to eat us up. If he takes one hit from our secondary, I can safely say it will probably kill him AND his next of kin.

Expect to see lots of flags, watch Sellers. Apparently the Eagles are upset about him from last year's game. Jason Short claims that Mike S. spit on him in the game and they were both flagged for personal fouls in the game.

Hm, I dont know guys, it seems US Today is about right. The Eagles are coming off a bye, and a bunch of losses, they should be fired up like we were agaisnt the Boys.

They are at home, and they have a good D(well I guess anything is good compared to ours). I think for the media to say they will win by 7 is reasonable.

If you can read, you should be able to count.

Last week the Cowboys, as stated on the pre-game and in here, were No. 5 ranked offensive juggernaut <snigger>.

We handled them (barely).

So now we have another No. 5 team.

What was your point again?

The defense went from 26th to 30th in one week!

Get the point!

And the Cow-Whores went from 5th to 4th ranked as an Offense AND LOST THE GAME!

Philly at home. Home is always give 3.

7 is nothing.

You tell me what the odds should be!

The guys making the odds last week where not making them on block FGs and Novack kicking the longest FG of life.

LMFAO

I don't bet.

However,......Redskins by 2.

McNabb on a three-game losing slide with four of five interceptions this season happening in those last three games. Look for more of that.

Our secondary (with 40 in a back-up role) will show us what we all thought we were getting and the Offense will plod through with 3 TD's (+/- a PAT or two).

You better leave the odd setting to the pros.

Odds are for betting only. They are not for making the fan feel good about their teams chances of winning each week. Fans get all hurt when their team isn't favored by the odds.

All thou, fans should be extra happy when their team beats their opponent and beat the odds. This gives the winner "extra bragging rights" Like the Skins last week vs Dallas

Why do I get the feeling your name is probably 'Mickey The Book' and I shouldn't have got involved?

Point taken about the odds. Home Field Adv. is usually 3-7 points as a standard measure?

You don't capitalize nouns in the middle of sentences unless you're speaking German.

chris36 11-11-2006 10:09 AM

Re: USA Today - Match-up

A proper noun is a noun which names a specific person, place, or thing.

Proper nouns are capitalized, when using a celestial name. I am not an English major, I am an MBA. I also did not know that you and Redskins Rat were so anal. Instead of That Guy, you should call yourself Hypocrite. Look at this post, you aparently cant find capitals.

You did it again :P. You really shouldn't start grammar-nazi'ing threads unless you're sure your grammar is perfect. I was just pointing out that while you were trying to blast someone else for grammar, you didn't bother checking your own, but I really don't care. Have fun.
