Skins/Giants Matchup
FOX Sports - NFL Head to Head - Head to Head
Just a some stats to think about although, anything can happen in NY, they also already took their bye last week which I think is good for us b/c it is a long season to go only 1/3 into it and alot of finger pointing is left for Vagiants. Their defense seems to be about the same as last year in production hopefully this is not their week to change that. LB Emmons will not be playing and LA hopefully will. |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
remember last year I think the Giants were last or close to the bottom in Defense and think more specifically running D when we went up there. Stats are out the window here. I think before that game which was the 6th of the season we were top 10 in O and D.
We win if we don't give the Giants a shortfield to work with via a turnover and if we can get 100 yards rushing... |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
i cant wait for Saunders to run some kind of missdirection and catch Arrington way out of position

Every play. FACT!

LoL!! its a lock!!! Lloyd and Randel El are going to have sick games!!! They will roll the coverage over to Moss the entire game and wow is it going to be pretty......Lloyd and Randel El had a couple of great catches last game but yea watch out! |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
I agree that the stats don't mean much. The Giants need to win this game badly or else people will start jumping over the side. They had a bye and they will come to play.
We need to play with the same chip on our shoulder we had last week. Having said that, their secondary is attrocious. If we can neutralize Strahan and the rest of their front by comitting to a physical running game, Brunell should have easy pickings when he drops back. The key is to give him a little time. The offensive line is the group most affected by the opposing crowd, so the Dirtbags need to play their best game of the year. Defensively, we need to stuff Tiki and the other youngster who has looked good (Jacobs?). Manning will get his, as he did in game two last year, but Tiki is the Giant that can beat you. |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
Screw the Giants, we need to win this game badly. I for one don't like the idea of being 2-3.
|
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
I know it's off topic, but after seing saden1's avatar, I must share. I met Ricky Ervins at the tailgate club before the game this weekend. He was wearing his Superbowl ring. It was awesome.
I also thought is was funny that he stood on his tippy toes when he posed for a picture with me. |

Unfortunately, Arrington is so slow if we run a misdirection he'll be right where he needs to be. =( |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
No misdirection necessary with LaVar, just run straight at him and let someone like Sellers knock his block off.
|
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
Listening to Sellers talk about the game was funny. You could tell he wasn't going to give himself away... he is so ready...

Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
it all starts with the run. if we can run the ball well all of the other things will fall into place. I want to see mike sellers lay a block on LA and knock him on his ass. LA is a has been or maybe a never was.

Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
lavar had his good moments here, but i do think his best days are behind him. And i'm REALLY tired of reading about him at this point. an average LB isn't worth talking about.

Seriously, I'm really tired of hearing about him. At this point in his career he's a shadow of his former self. In the Giants games I've watched he's been a complete non-factor. |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
maybe we can him and T.O. on the same team, preferably out west, and never have to hear about them again

Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
Well our Run D has been very dominant recently....im sure Tiki being a prem RB he will rack up a few more yards than prev Rb's but not much. I think if we hold Tiki under 60-70 yards and do not allow the 5 or 6 big plays this game is ours. Our offense is just too powerful at the moment, and sam madison has been struggling. Look for a massive roll in coverage over to Moss which will free up Cooley, Lloyd and Randel El. I think Lloyd or Randel El will have a break out game!!....Skins win 31-24
|
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
I look forward to 200 yards rushing and a Randle El touchdown pass!
|
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
tell you what, i'm convinced of the value of a #1 CB now, and i wish we had one. i'm not sure springs will be back any time soon, and that's the real cure for our D.
ty law certainly seemed to help the chiefs get better fast, even as old and worn as he is. |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
Mark Schlereth on the Colin Cowherd show a minute ago. When asked about the Skins/NY game. He replied that it took the Skins two weeks into the season to get Al's O down. That they have become a threat, and NY is going down this week-Great wisdom

he is like portis, he has good days against everyone :( 2005 24 for 206 rush, 1 for 5 rec, 1 TD 16 for 80 rush, 6 for 49 rec, 0 TD that's 7.15rpc (8.6 and 5.0) and this defense is worse than last year's. in 2004 we flat stoned him though (2.5avg with like 60 yards in 2 games combined). that was a crazy out of their skulls defensive performance all year though. |

Did Cowherd have anything to say about the Skins? I remember hearing him in the preseason say the Redskins were going to be horrible this year. |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
I'm not so confident. I think NY will want our heads. It won't be easy to beat them, I don't think....

it's a divisional road game. Of course it won't be easy. |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
He did not today. He let Schlereth comment without rebuttal. However, the other day however, he was doggin' the team after the Jacksonville win. Like Jacksonville is not as good as reported, any given day, Skins not in the East race with powerhouse Dallas, and Philly. I must admit, I was surprised by that...........BS

He's a straight up Skins hater, he always has been and always will. The next time he says something favorable about the Redskins will be the first time. He loves to say how objective he is, but he's kidding himself especially with his comments playing down Jax. |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
Ehh, forget about that loser he is gonna get his feelings hurt this weekend.
I just visited the Giants website, is it common for them to have so much of the OTHER on their site. They have an unsual amount of videos, Gibbs talk, and player articles. Maybe the Skins dont want their knobs slobbed by the these Giants.... get off the D**k Vagiants |

He's definately opinionated, and enjoys hearing himself talk. I had not noticed the anti-skins thing as much before. I have to give Schlereth credit as another quote during the interview went "I had Brunell benched and done. He looks sharp with protection, and some help from Clinton" |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
i had always thought stinky would be a bit of a skins homer, but a year or two ago it became apparent he's a straight up broncos guy :/ too bad, but at least he doesn't take opinions just to get on tv.
|
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
i enjoy stinkys comments because he usually puts some thought behind them. not just agreeing with everyone else
|
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
I have to agree, he does seem to be a Broncos guy, but he does speak highly of his time with the Skins. I generally find his opinion.........at least his own! He's also a football guy, not a wannebe
|
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
right, i don't doubt his opinion's integrity, i was just disappointed when i suddenly realized he was more into the broncos than the skins :/.

LOL!!! Point well taken! ;) |
Re: Skins/Giants Matchup
thatguy, right now the broncos are the more successful of the 2 teams. if the skins rattle of 10 wins in a row, i don't see schlereth having any problem coming back to his redskin roots. remember, everybody loves a winner
