Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
It seems the Giants have alot working for them though it is tough to tell since the Chiefs Defense is bottom 5 in the league. I cant help but hate they fact the have Eli. I know Peyton is coaching him in the offseason and helping him to get better. He has to, he is the big brother who will not let the Manning name go to shit. I swear I heard the same audible adjustments at the line saying "Omaha" thats Peytons call at times.
Giants commited alot of penalties as usual. My brother is the biggest Giants fan in the world. So it is extremely crucial that they suffer and lose but they have addressed all of their issues. Filled all their weak areas on Defense, They have a short yardage guy in Jacobs to do what Dayne couldnt for whatever reason, their all basically young, team is under the cap, maybe they are not as fundamentally sound tackling but they have in my opinion a top 5 defensive line that would be better but Strahan is getting older and they draft smartly b/c they have Draft picks to do so. I dont even like how Chad Morton is getting them all "Crunked up" saying he lost weight and now he's explosive, just another Ex- Skin who did nothing for us but eat money. I think Eli is the Key. He must be taken out. If they lose him they lose it all if happens early enough. I just hate those guys, sweep the leg. Does anyone else see them as more of a threat????????? I just dont see how their Offense can be so effective. I hate them more than the Cowboys. |

Dude!
Try some Decaf! The Mannings self deflate in the POs! |
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
I've said it in a few other previous threads, yes the giants have stacked up a solid group of talent, but I think defensively they're banking on old vets who have some questions, namely Lavar. Strahan is still solid, but is not the de he once was. Usi can give us problems. Will Demps was a good pick up. Their corners do not worry me though.
The main thing about the g-men that gives me hope is that Tom Coughlin teams tend to fade at the end of the year, as the giants did last year. |
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
Speaking of LaVar he didn't have any tackles...one assist.
|
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
There's no fear in this dojo... sweep the leg..

Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
It's so hard to gauge a team during pre-season games especially the early ones. Clearly they are not going at it full force with the intent to dominate their opponent. They do look very solid at all of their positions. The first regular season game in which they commit themselves to all four quarters will be a true indication of what the whole season will look like for them.
Worried? I guess. A lot? No. Happy to be a Redskins fan? YES! |

I didn't see him play, but when I tuned in they were talking about him. Aikman said that Lavar's was the last hit he took in his caree, then went on to say that he didn't know why lavar hasn't been more productive, & that this is kind of a make/break year for him. |

I didn't either, I just read the stat sheet over on their website. |

Oh, that's cold. |
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
NFC East is probably the toughest division in the NFL. Giants are my least favorite team. I hate them worse than the Cowboys unfortunately...
|
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
Also, about Eli, there are some things you just can't teach. He doesn't have the intangibles that his older brother has, and no amount of practicing or teaching is going to fix them. With our D, I wouldn't worry.

Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
The Giants also have one of the toughest schedules in the league. They will be really worn down by the time the post season rolls around if they even make it.
I was surprised to hear Aikman say that about LaVar last night. It was good though because it just supports the Skins' decision to let him go whn LaVar was trying to make us look like the bad guy. |
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
i hope that peyton manning just dominates the giants in the season opener.

It's ...preseason.

Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
He said that Arrington was the last hit he felt in his NFL career, and he's surprised that he hasn't become a dominant player in the league. He expected more from him, and basically, this year, he has to prove himself, and so far, since he's joined the Giants, once again, it's been injuries here and there and he hasn't shown what he can do.
|
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
It's true. He hasn't yet shown what he can do. NOT learn defensive plays, NOT be a team player, and bail on a team despite being a fan favorite just because nobody is at MLB anymore who can tell you what you are supposed to do each play.
|
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
im suprised arrington even made it to the field. the quote about coughlin teams tending to fade down the stretch is a great point that alot of people over look. i guess that hard nosed approach all season long tends to get aliitle old in the latter stages of a season. players maybe more worn out than normal?

TMC, did you read this crap from LaVar?
NJ.com: Everything Jersey "LB LaVar Arrington (aka Mr. Nickels and Thundercat) whipped out another nickname last night -- this time for the entire defense. "Voltron still hasn't fully formed yet," Arrington said. "We still had a solid showing with the first-string defense. I can only imagine what we will be once we get everybody out there." Voltron? Voltron? Excuse me, but there's a certain receiving corps in Landover with rights of first refusal to that name: http://www.thewarpath.net/171073-post117.html |
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
Would'nt say I'm "worried" as it's only preseason. I would say they looked pretty impressive last night.
Manning looked comfortable, precise and in control. Their WRs looked good, and that Jacobs is one scary dude - a RB at 6'4 264 lbs! That's one hell of a guy to bring down, and he's not exactly slow. Time will tell - I'd say of any team in the NFC East, I'm more worried about the Giants than anyone. They're very well rounded and deep on all sides of the ball. |

He was a complete non-factor in the game last night. He sounds like he thinks it's "his" defense or that he's leading it when the dude had hardly anything to do with the game. |
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
It looks like the G-Men have critical injuries to work through on their O-Line

Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
Am I the only one who thinks its funny that the Giants have Eli Manning, the younger brother of a star QB in the league, backed up by Tim Hasselback, the younger brother of a star QB in the league? The irony is that his backup is a daily reminder that he may never be as good as his brother... maybe just backup QB potential...
Just kinda thought it was funny. I'm sure it has crossed his mind... |
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
Voltron? WTF? Has Lavar gone Tom Cruise and become a Scientoligist? What's next? He goes on Oprah and dances on the couch while proclaiming his love for Tom Coughlin?
Which leads us to what everyone is afraid to say about the Giants. The Giants are a team whose head coach will lead them to be underachievers. They've got some talent and potential (but no where near what Giant Fan thinks) and TC will be the real reason why they don't come anywhere close to reaching their full potential. The TC record is clear and the reasons why this is the case are clear as well. |
Re: Giants vs. Chiefs Game.
brandon jacobs still runs too high and is an easier tackle than his hgt/wgt would indicate.
don't get too amped on a good offense beating the crap out of a bottom 5 D. dallas exploded the saints too, but it had more to do with the saints being terrible and only lining up 3 worthwhile players in their starting 11 on defense (RE/LE/CB). |
